Book excerpt: When my ex-wife walked out our door, she didn't just take her belongings with her, she took my heart. I was pretty sure it would never work again, but that was before my sister’s best friend showed up at my door. Beaten. In need of serious help. And my sister sent Emmersyn to me, knowing I’d do whatever I could. Except doing whatever I can means getting married. Again. We both know the score though, which means Emmersyn knows I’ll never love her. I can help protect her and our marriage secures her inheritance, but love? I’ve already ruined one woman. I refuse to hurt another. We say I do, and almost immediately I realize spending this much time around Emmersyn will be my downfall. I might be breaking my promise to her already. Turns out, when it comes to love and women, I’m wrong about a lot of things. **Warning: Goal Chaser contains brief mentions of sensitive subject matter including domestic violence.

Book excerpt: How many of us have an open treasure chest of gold (our spiritual growth) waiting to be claimed on a deserted beach? Spiritual growth is the process of becoming more and more like Jesus Christ. When we place our faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit begins the process of making us more like Him. Spiritual growth is perhaps described in 2 Peter 1:3-8, which tells us that by God’s power we have “everything need” to live lives of godliness, which is the goal of spiritual growth. What we need comes “through our knowledge of Him, “which is the key to obtaining everything we need. Our knowledge of Him coms from the Word, given to us for our edification and growth. There are two lists in Galatians 5:19-23. Verses 19-21 list the “acts of the flesh.” These are the things that identify our lives before we came to Christ for salvation. The “acts of the flesh” are the activities we are to confess, repent of, and, with God’s help, overcome. As we experience spiritual growth, fewer and fewer of the “acts of the flesh” will be evident in our lives. The second list is the “fruit of the Spirit” (verses 22-23). These are things that should characterize our lives now that we have experienced salvation in Jesus Christ. Spiritual growth is identified by the “fruit of the Spirit” becoming increasingly evident in a believer’s life. When the transformation of salvation takes place, spiritual growth begins. The Holy Spirit indwells us (John 14:16-17). We are new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The old, sinful nature begins to give away to the new, Christ like nature (Romans 6-7). Spiritual growth is a lifelong process that depends on our study and application of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and our walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26). As we seek spiritual growth, we should pray to God and ask for wisdom concerning the areas He desires us to grow. We can ask God to increase our faith and knowledge of Him. God desires us to grow spiritually, and He has given us all we need to experience spiritual growth. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can overcome sin and steadily become more like our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. How do I get there?

Book excerpt: An in-depth mental motivational book for all athletes from Olympian Dr. Joanna Zeiger that offers game-changing strategies for programming your brain to achieve physical excellence. Champions, as the familiar adage preaches, are not born—they're made. Reaching the top of any sport, or any aspect of life, takes years upon years of dedication and proper preparation. But if there's a huge pool of individuals who have undertaken the same commitment and steps towards becoming the best, what truly separates the winners from everyone else? Joanna Zeiger believes proper mental preparation is the answer. The Champion Mindset is a much-needed and long overdue look into how to program a competitor's mind to achieve optimal success. Changing behaviors and ways of thinking are never easy, but the chapters in this book aim to simplify this process to make it manageable and achievable. This book is for every athlete—from the weekend warrior, who wants to complete in his or her first 5k running race, to those who have aspirations of one day becoming Olympians and world champions. The Champion Mindset is a compendium of Zeiger's own personal journey from struggling novice swimmer to Olympian and World Champion. Through steps including: Proper Goal Setting, Keeping it Fun, Building Your Team, Intention in Training, Improving Motivation, Promoting Self-Confidence, and Mind/Body Cohesion, among others, Zeiger uses her decades of personal experience, doctoral-level research, and professional success, to prepare readers to go all-in with their mental game.

Book excerpt: If you’re reading this page, you probably have a goal you’d like to accomplish or plans you’d like to execute. You know you need a push but you may not be sure what kind of push you need. Or you may know what kind of push you need but not how to get it. I recognize that feeling. I’ve felt it myself. It can be isolating and frustrating. It can also seem like it’s your fault that you need this push. Yes it is your job to take the steps to fulfill your destiny but sometimes the day to day details of life can become overwhelming. As we get older, we begin to realize that while pursuing our dreams is important so is becoming a responsible adult. You may find yourself with a job, family and household to run or take care of and those daily tasks take time. In fact, they can take up all of your time without you realizing it. They’re all important. You can’t NOT do them. You don’t have that option. What typically ends up happening in these situations is that we put ourselves on the back burner. We sacrifice our need to pursue our dreams in favor of doing what is expected of us. If possible, we honor our need for time to focus on ourselves to those moments when we’re not being called upon to handle daily tasks. You Are Responsible For Your Success! Ultimately YOU are the only one who has power over your life. If you aren’t pursuing your goals because of someone else, you are essentially using that person as an excuse or a buffer. It’s always easier to place responsibility on someone else than yourself. Stepping outside of your comfort zone isn’t easy. You shouldn’t expect it to be easy. Be prepared to do some tough personal work. If you have goals to pursue but haven’t, it’s important that you figure out why and fix it. I’ve been where you are. In fact, I expect I’ll be here again. The process of stepping outside of your comfort zone and pushing your limits is an ongoing one. It doesn’t really get any easier. It just becomes an integral part of personal growth. To give you a head start, I've written a special guide on this subject so you can finally step outside of your comfort zone. Here's what you'll discover in the Push Your Limits guide: How to get out of the rut you're stuck in. What is success and what does it mean to you? Read this important chapter before moving ahead. How to change your perspective and tap into your calling. Getting comfortable being uncomfortable as a way to achieve real success and results. Your comfort zones and how to break free from them. The different types of comfort zones in your life and how to approach each one. ...and much, much more!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'D.R.E.A.M.C.H.A.S.E.R: 8 Ways to Make it Happen'. Its aimed primarily at young people and uses examples of contemporary popular culture to hopefully inspire and motivate. I make references to song lyrics, movie quotes, biographical references from celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, Rihanna, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Jordan, J.K Rowling, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z to name but a few, in an attempt to inspire, awaken, empower and help people take action towards the realisation of their dreams. I decided to use examples of celebrities who have experienced real setbacks in their personal and professional lives but went on to achieve an extraordinary amount of success. These celebrities have been specifically chosen to relate to a youth audience and the book is written in a language and in a context that should also appeal to this audience. I want the youth of today to aspire to greatness but also see the truth behind greatness...that many of the people we view as 'the greats' have had enormous setbacks which could easily have made them give up on their dreams but their self belief, strong work ethic, determination and desire to achieve them helped them overcome these obstacles. Actor and mega star, Will Smith once saidpeople view greatness as this unachievable thing reading D.R.E.A.M.C.H.A.S.E.R will help people realise that greatness is achievable and will also hopefully help them kick start their Dream Chase

As Willie G. spoke and read the words, following a discussion, his students began to understand what they had done wrong or why they were taking those actions. There was a feeling of relief and gratitude for this instructor that appeared to be more like a grandfather figure than a teacher. He had kept his word to not inform others unless the student was intending to injure himself/herself or another, and now the student would keep theirs. He used verses to make a statement about the situation, and now he wants to share these thoughts with others.

Book excerpt: A revelatory, pragmatic, and beautifully rendered companion for the millions suffering from mental health issues An invaluable resource for anyone struggling with anxiety, fear, or depression, The Art of Calm is a lifesaving and inspiring guidebook that empowers us to break free from the emotional bondage of mental illness. Bursting with deep personal insight and uplifting practical guidance, this remarkable and therapeutic journey begins by charting the author’s own devastating psychological descent—which included panic attacks so severe they landed him in the emergency room. When the medical system proved unable to provide sustained help, however, a floundering Roger Hutchison turned to his faith for guidance. The healing path God led him on was nothing short of miraculous, offering not only authentic spiritual renewal but also a profound sense of belonging in a world where he once only felt like a stranger. Weaving these personal stories with thoughtful questions, journaling prompts, and a wide range of inspirational practices, Hutchison creates a self-help tapestry of compassion, vulnerability, and action. At the end of each chapter, a colorful variety of reflections and creative exercises—from photography, music, and meditation to cooking, hiking, and art— encourage readers to get up and discover a more centered and peaceful life. The result is an essential tool for finding tranquility in the midst of both inner and outer turmoil.
