Book Synopsis Applications of Combinatorial Optimization by : Vangelis Th. Paschos
Download or read book Applications of Combinatorial Optimization written by Vangelis Th. Paschos and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-08-08 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combinatorial optimization is a multidisciplinary scientific area, lying in the interface of three major scientific domains: mathematics, theoretical computer science and management. The three volumes of the Combinatorial Optimization series aim to cover a wide range of topics in this area. These topics also deal with fundamental notions and approaches as with several classical applications of combinatorial optimization. Concepts of Combinatorial Optimization, is divided into three parts: - On the complexity of combinatorial optimization problems, presenting basics about worst-case and randomized complexity; - Classical solution methods, presenting the two most-known methods for solving hard combinatorial optimization problems, that are Branch-and-Bound and Dynamic Programming; - Elements from mathematical programming, presenting fundamentals from mathematical programming based methods that are in the heart of Operations Research since the origins of this field.

This book was released on 2012-02-02 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the various types of coherent states introduced and studied in the physics and mathematics literature and describes their properties together with application to quantum physics problems. It is intended to serve as a compendium on coherent states and their applications for physicists and mathematicians, stretching from the basic mathematical structures of generalized coherent states in the sense of Perelomov via the semiclassical evolution of coherent states to various specific examples of coherent states (hydrogen atom, quantum oscillator, ...).

Book Synopsis Divergent Series, Summability and Resurgence II by : Michèle Loday-Richaud

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Addressing the question how to “sum” a power series in one variable when it diverges, that is, how to attach to it analytic functions, the volume gives answers by presenting and comparing the various theories of k-summability and multisummability. These theories apply in particular to all solutions of ordinary differential equations. The volume includes applications, examples and revisits, from a cohomological point of view, the group of tangent-to-identity germs of diffeomorphisms of C studied in volume 1. With a view to applying the theories to solutions of differential equations, a detailed survey of linear ordinary differential equations is provided, which includes Gevrey asymptotic expansions, Newton polygons, index theorems and Sibuya’s proof of the meromorphic classification theorem that characterizes the Stokes phenomenon for linear differential equations. This volume is the second in a series of three, entitled Divergent Series, Summability and Resurgence. It is aimed at graduate students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics who are interested in divergent series, Although closely related to the other two volumes, it can be read independently.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, there is increasing interest in complex geometry, geometric function theory, and integral representation theory of several complex variables. The present collection of survey and research articles comprises a current overview of research in several complex variables in China. Among the topics covered are singular integrals, function spaces, differential operators, and factorization of meromorphic functions in several complex variables via analytic or geometric methods. Some results are reported in English for the first time.

Book Synopsis Integral Domains Inside Noetherian Power Series Rings: Constructions and Examples by : William Heinzer
Download or read book Integral Domains Inside Noetherian Power Series Rings: Constructions and Examples written by William Heinzer and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2021-10-08 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Power series provide a technique for constructing examples of commutative rings. In this book, the authors describe this technique and use it to analyse properties of commutative rings and their spectra. This book presents results obtained using this approach. The authors put these results in perspective; often the proofs of properties of classical examples are simplified. The book will serve as a helpful resource for researchers working in commutative algebra.

Book Synopsis Commensurabilities Among Lattices in PU (1,n) by : Pierre Deligne
Download or read book Commensurabilities Among Lattices in PU (1,n) written by Pierre Deligne and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 1993-09-12 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first part of this monograph is devoted to a characterization of hypergeometric-like functions, that is, twists of hypergeometric functions in n-variables. These are treated as an (n+1) dimensional vector space of multivalued locally holomorphic functions defined on the space of n+3 tuples of distinct points on the projective line P modulo, the diagonal section of Auto P=m. For n=1, the characterization may be regarded as a generalization of Riemann's classical theorem characterizing hypergeometric functions by their exponents at three singular points. This characterization permits the authors to compare monodromy groups corresponding to different parameters and to prove commensurability modulo inner automorphisms of PU(1,n). The book includes an investigation of elliptic and parabolic monodromy groups, as well as hyperbolic monodromy groups. The former play a role in the proof that a surprising number of lattices in PU(1,2) constructed as the fundamental groups of compact complex surfaces with constant holomorphic curvature are in fact conjugate to projective monodromy groups of hypergeometric functions. The characterization of hypergeometric-like functions by their exponents at the divisors "at infinity" permits one to prove generalizations in n-variables of the Kummer identities for n-1 involving quadratic and cubic changes of the variable.
Book Synopsis Coherent States and Applications in Mathematical Physics by : Didier Robert
Download or read book Coherent States and Applications in Mathematical Physics written by Didier Robert and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second edition of the outstanding monograph on coherent states by Combescure and Robert published in 2012 is enriched with figures, historical information and numerical simulations and enlarged with five new chapters presenting important rigorous results obtained in the recent years. The new chapters include various applications such as to the time dependent Schroedinger equation and the Ehrenfest time, to the growth of norms and energy exchanges, to chaotic systems and classical systems with quantum ergodic behavior, and to open quantum systems, and to adiabatic decoupling for multicomponent systems Overall, this book presents the various types of coherent states introduced and studied in the physics and mathematics literature and describes their properties together with application to quantum physics problems. It is intended to serve as a compendium on coherent states and their applications for physicists and mathematicians, stretching from the basic mathematical structures of generalized coherent states in the sense of Perelomov via the semiclassical evolution of coherent states to various specific examples of coherent states (hydrogen atom, quantum oscillator, etc.). It goes beyond existing books on coherent states in terms of a rigorous mathematical framework
