Book excerpt: There was a certain coldness in the manner of those at the Weald spaceport when the Med Ship left next morning. Calhoun was not popular because Weald was scared. It had been conditioned to scare easily, where blueskins might be involved. Its children were trained to react explosively when the word "blueskin" was uttered in their hearing, and its adults tended to say "blueskin" when anything to cause uneasiness entered their minds. So a planet-wide habit of non-rational response had formed and was not seen to be irrational because almost everybody had it. The volunteer who'd discovered the tragedy on the ship from Orede was safe, though. He'd made a completely conscientious survey of the ship he'd volunteered to enter and examine. For his courage, he'd have been doomed but for Calhoun. The reaction of his fellow-citizens was that by entering the ship he might have become contaminated by blueskin infective material if the plague still existed, and if the men in the ship had caught it—but they certainly hadn't died of it—and if there had been blueskins on Orede to communicate it—for which there was no evidence—and if blueskins were responsible for the tragedy. Which was at the moment pure supposition. But Weald feared he might bring death back to Weald if he were allowed to return....

This book was released on 2016-09-08 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have the Apocalyptic Horses Started to Gallop? If So, Why? by Sharon Altenberger This book reveals that God is rapidly bringing the Babylonian Satanic Spirit world to an end and He does not want His Saints to be ignorant. The Prophecy of the Sword (curse), the Seven Year Tribulation period, is swiftly coming to pass upon the Earth. As Born Again Believers, we must be prepared to endure and stand fast in our faith in Christ until our harvest time. This book details the Latter Day Prophecies, which includes the miraculous End-Time Event of the Harvest of all Born Again believers, which will be followed by the outpouring of the Winepress of God’s Seven Vials of Wrath. This book reveals that during the Seventh Trumpet Judgment the door to salvation will remain open. However, the door to salvation will close when the Born Again Believers are resurrected, the resurrection of the just, which occurs just prior to the end of the Seventh Trumpet Period. The Harvest of the Saints will conclude God Almighty’s Grace and Mercy period, and this heavenly event will be followed by the fulfillment of the final portion of the ‘inside’ written message of the Sword (curse) period, the Day of the Lord. These Prophesied Events will end the Seven Year Tribulation Period.

Book Synopsis We Come with this Place by : Debra Dank
Download or read book We Come with this Place written by Debra Dank and published by Footnote Press. This book was released on 2023-11-02 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Douglas Stewart Prize for Non-Fiction Indigenous Writers' Prize UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing Longlisted for the 2023 Stella Prize Prime Minister's Summer Reading List 2022, Grattan Institute We Come with This Place is a remarkable book, as rich, varied and surprising as the vast landscape in which it is set. Debra Dank has created an extraordinary mosaic of vivid episodes that move about in time and place to tell an unforgettable story of country and people. There is great pain in these pages, and anger at injustice, but also great love, in marriage and in family, and for the land. Dank faces head on the ingrained racism, born of brutal practice and harsh legislation, that lies always under the skin of Australia, the racism that calls a little Aboriginal girl names and beats and rapes and disenfranchises the generations before hers. She describes sudden terrible violence, between races and sometimes at home. But overwhelmingly this is a book about strong, beloved parents and grandparents, guiding and teaching their children and grandchildren what country means, about joyful gatherings and the pleasures of eating food provided by the place that nourishes them, both spiritually and physically. We Come with This Place is deeply personal, a profound tribute to family and the Gudanji Country in Australia, to which Debra Dank belongs, but it is much more than that. Here is Australia as it has been for countless generations, land and people in effortless balance, and Australia as it became, but also Australia as it could and should be.
