Book Synopsis Celestial Rune Sigils by : All Natural Spirit
Download or read book Celestial Rune Sigils written by All Natural Spirit and published by . This book was released on 2020-07-10 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first and only book (which I am aware of) that is exclusively dedicated to a comprehensive system of bind runes created from the Elder Futhark! At a glance, it provides the following: * Easy-to-read and easy-to-use information with no expert rune knowledge required * Contains 24 black and white Elder Futhark bind runes, each with an unique stanza * Discusses the bind runes as active tools for magick, spiritual and/or self-empowerment rituals * Guidance on the purpose and use of each bindrune * Designs include additional western alchemical elements as well as a novel alchemical symbol of my own design My studies into the Elder Futhark, which have fascinated me since childhood, have been converted into a coherent system of bindrunes for everyday use without the requirement of expert knowledge. I have named this bindrune project; the Celestial Rune Sigils. It started as a set of magickal tools with which to facilitate self-improvement through the exploration of spirituality. Subsequently, I have transformed the bindrunes into a set of 24 black and white sigils, representative of their origins from the 24 Elder Futhark Runes. The sigils were initially featured on the Celestial Rune Sigils oracle deck (more details on my website) and now they have been converted into book format as well! In this book I provide guidance on the crafting, uses and invocation of the Celestial Rune Sigils. These sigils are not merely meant for use in divination, but rather they have a more active role with each sigil having a specific intention and contribution towards metaphysical, spiritual and magickal rituals. Therefore, the Celestial Rune Sigils are not only restricted to tarot readers or oracle enthusiasts. They have been created for the larger metaphysical community and would be of special interest to our energy workers and magick wielders. They are appropriate for most ages, including the very young and those who are wiser, since they can be used for both personal rituals and to assist clients during various healing and/or magick sessions. The Celestial Rune Sigils represent a metaphysical, spiritual or magickal toolbox, with each sigil representing a different metaphysical tool. Each sigil can be used in this way, much as one would use a wand, crystal or other spiritual tool. There is a lot of freedom as to how precisely to apply each card and I hope that the practitioners who make use of this book will find their own intuitive ways of applying each of the sigils during their spiritual journeys and magickal rituals. I appreciate any feedback, comments and/or reviews about this book as I am constantly striving to improve on the system and to make it relatable to all my fellow rune enthusiasts!
Book Synopsis Elder Futhark Arcanum by : All Natural Spirit
Download or read book Elder Futhark Arcanum written by All Natural Spirit and published by . This book was released on 2021-02-21 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you an open-minded spiritual practitioner? A seeker of truth and knowledge? Someone who is willing to discuss alternate perspectives? Then this book is for you. Here within is my attempt at finding the truth behind the purpose and origin of the Elder Futhark as well as intuitively deciphering their somewhat obscure meanings. At a glance this book provides: * Discussion on how runes became a language used for divination * Modern meaning interpretations for each rune * Abstract geometric artwork for each rune * Additional western alchemical and astronomical associations for each rune * Several overview tables and references In this context, this book does not discuss the traditional meanings or interpretations of the runes, but rather more modern outlooks and perspectives on each. Instead of adding more content to already confusing and conflicting traditional/conventional meanings - I have opted for the opposite, to simplify rather than complicate. I have tried to distill the core of each rune through my studies into their history, linguistics and metaphysics in order to make clear delineations between the runes. Thus, brief mentions are made to traditional meanings in favour of more discussion around the transference of the runes into our daily lives with reference to more familiar circumstances and challenges. I am quite partial to the metaphysical symbolism of animals, plants and objects, thus this book includes plenty representations form the animal kingdom as well as everyday objects and some minor contributions from herbology. I have tried to keep to the mythology related to the Germanic tribes and to the everyday references of people living in Iron Age Europe. Therefore, some of my interpretations are similar to their traditional counterparts, but the majority of them have been cast anew. I truly appreciate any reviews, feedback and recommendations as I am constantly striving towards improving this runic body of work to make it more relatable to my fellow rune enthusiasts!

Book Synopsis Runic Amulets and Magic Objects by : Mindy MacLeod
Download or read book Runic Amulets and Magic Objects written by Mindy MacLeod and published by Boydell Press. This book was released on 2006 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fresh examination of one of the most contentious issues in runic scholarship - magical or not? The runic alphabet, in use for well over a thousand years, was employed by various Germanic groups in a variety of ways, including, inevitably, for superstitious and magical rites. Formulaic runic words were inscribed onto small items that could be carried for good luck; runic charms were carved on metal or wooden amulets to ensure peace or prosperity. There are invocations and allusions to pagan and Christian gods and heroes, to spirits of disease, and even to potential lovers. Few such texts are completely unique to Germanic society, and in fact, most of the runic amulets considered in this book show wide-ranging parallels from a variety of European cultures. The question ofwhether runes were magical or not has divided scholarship in the area. Early criticism embraced fantastic notions of runic magic - leading not just to a healthy scepticism, but in some cases to a complete denial of any magical element whatsoever in the runic inscriptions. This book seeks to re-evaulate the whole question of runic sorcery, attested to not only in the medieval Norse literature dealing with runes but primarily in the fascinating magical texts of the runic inscriptions themselves. Dr MINDY MCLEOD teaches in the Department of Linguistics, Deakin University, Melbourne; Dr BERNARD MEES teaches in the Department of History at the University of Melbourne.
Book Synopsis Norse Runes Handbook by : Brittany Nightshade
Download or read book Norse Runes Handbook written by Brittany Nightshade and published by . This book was released on 2019-11-13 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Norse Runic Magick, The Meaning of the Futhark Runes Brittany Nightshade, the author of the popular "Book of Shadows" spellbook series, has released this Runic Handbook for those who would like a compact resource detailing the Elder Futhark Runes and their meanings. This simple beginners handbook is a great reference guide for anyone wanting to familiarize themselves with the meaning behind the Futhark Runes for purposes of Divination, Rune Magick, etching, or if you just want to learn more about these ancient Norse symbols. The runes are the written letters that were used by the Norse and other Germanic peoples before the adoption of the Latin alphabet in the later Middle Ages. Unlike the Latin alphabet, which is an essentially utilitarian script, the runes are pictographs of some of the most powerful forces in the cosmos. In fact, the word "rune" and its cognates across past and present Germanic languages mean both "letter" and "secret/mystery." The letters called "runes" allow one to access, interact with, and influence the world-shaping forces they symbolize. Thus, when Odin sought the runes, he wasn't merely attempting to acquire a set of arbitrary representations of human vocal sounds. Rather, he was uncovering an extraordinarily potent system of magic. The Runic Handbook covers all 24 Futhark Runes and has a section on common Nordic symbols and their meanings including the Vegvisir, Mjolnir, Yggdrasil, The Valknut, The Helm of Awe, and The Triple Horn of Odin. In the back of the book are large images of each Rune and Symbol with a blank backside for each image so you can write your own notes or even create your own Rune Magick Rituals.

Download or read book Runes written by Michael P. Barnes and published by Boydell Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Offers a full introduction to and survey of runes and runology: their history, how they were used, and their interpretation. Runes, often considered magical symbols of mystery and power, are in fact an alphabetic form of writing. Derived from one or more Mediterranean prototypes, they were used by Germanic peoples to write different kinds of Germanic language, principally Anglo-Saxon and the various Scandinavian idioms, and were carved into stone, wood, bone, metal, and other hard surfaces; types of inscription range from memorials to the dead, through Christian prayers and everyday messages to crude graffiti. First reliably attested in the second century AD, runes were in due course supplanted by the roman alphabet, though in Anglo-Saxon England they continued in use until the early eleventh century, inScandinavia until the fifteenth (and later still in one or two outlying areas). This book provides an accessible, general account of runes and runic writing from their inception to their final demise. It also covers modern uses of runes, and deals with such topics as encoded texts, rune names, how runic inscriptions were made, runological method, and the history of runic research. A final chapter explains where those keen to see runic inscriptions can most easily find them. Professor MICHAEL P, BARNES is Emeritus Professor of Scandinavian Studies, University College London.
