John McIntyre (1793-1867) was born in Otsego County, New York. He married Elizabeth Curtis (1795-1873) in Hastings County, Ontario in 1818. They both died in Wood County, Ohio. John Herman Hoagland (1816-1874) married Arietta Hoagland (1819-1892), who was born in Somerset County, New Jersey. They settled in Ohio. They were descendants of Christoffel Hoogelandt, who was born in Holland in 1634 and later immigrated to New Amsterdam. He wss married to Catrina Cregier. Nathaniel Canfield immigrated to Connecticut in 1638. His descendant, Jared Canfield, left Vermont and moved to Erie County, New York in 1810. Some of his family later moved to Ohio.
