Søren Kierkegaard wrote that we all have a defect from childhood, and these defects give us a false impression of who we are. We struggle to overcome these false impressions no matter what our age. Often we use these false impressions in our lives to give identity to ourselves and to mask over our fears and anxieties. Many feel burdened, weighted down in carrying the heaviness of their false world. We need to know we are blessed, to really know that we are blessed. Blessings have a power that affirmations do not embody. Affirmations give another emotional support to the projected, egoic self. On the other hand, blessings massage and poke at our original selves hidden beneath our personas. My hope and wish is that these blessings awaken the original blessing within you.
