True Freedom!Jackie Padgette-Baird is a California native and a student and product of music and the arts. Jackie had many achievements in the entertainment field, especially as a professional musician and writer. She cut albums, had a top-billed band on the Nevada circuit for seven years. During this time she became ill, and when no one could help her, she reflected on her father's teachings as he was the first bio analyst and pathologist in the state of California. Jackie took her health in her own hands because she did not receive any answers. It was nutrition that saved her life and became her second love. Working as an assistant to Dr. Victoria Arcadi, Jackie learned about the nutritional application in a clinical setting, ran the nutritional department and organized Dr. Vicky's seminars. Flush Your Fat 4Good was divinely given when once again she was in need. Dr. Victoria C. Arcadi (aka Dr. Vicky), graduated UCLA in 1972 with a BA degree in Psychobiology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1984 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She earned her Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP) in 1997, specializing in pregnancy, pre-natal care, and pediatrics. In private practice and on staff at a birth center, she worked with midwives and medical doctors. Chiropractic care and clinical nutrition proved an effective and successful approach in managing her pregnant women and patients for more than 32 years in practice. Dr. Vicky published some of the first chiropractic case studies in pregnancy, pediatrics, breastfeeding, and glycobiology and is certified in Applied Kinesiology. She has been living a healthy lifestyle herself for more than 30 years. She is excited to have an opportunity to help the millions of people globally and also bring awareness to Globesity pandemic. Combining a diverse background in engineering (Masters in Computer Science) and art, Kathleen J. Powell has worked for high tech giants and serves as President and Co-Founder of Cinequest, Inc. The Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival was named top ten in the world and the leader in showcasing (and applying) the technologies that have revolutionized film making, exhibition, and distribution. As a part of her ongoing influence and effort to empower, Kathleen led Cinequest to create Picture the Possibilities, working globally to teach youth the power to create. In 2010, Metro Newspapers named Kathleen one of the 25 people who dramatically changed the Silicon Valley over the past 25 years. Additionally, Kathleen enjoys mentoring women in developing countries through the George W. Bush Institute. Her passion for bringing the FYF4Good Lifestyle to the world to save millions of lives drove her to study and write about Jackie and Dr. Vicky's work.

Book excerpt: Part manual and part memoir, Jenniffer pulls back the curtain of her life and shares how getting a divorce, moving from her dream actually helped her gain a greater awareness and happiness. Her sense of humor reminds us that even though staying on the spiritual path has its fair share of challenges, you are not alone, and you will laugh again-dammit! As a journalist, she remains cynical when gurus such as Wayne Dyer tell her to "embrace the journey"-but the signs from something bigger keep showing up just in time. Each chapter of "This Isn't the Life I Ordered.." delivers a nugget of wisdom that will leave you inspired and entertained. (Including interviews with best selling authors Caroline Myss, Anita Moorjani, and Dr. Mary Neal.) Jenniffer shows the human side of trying to be spiritual, with several laughs and poignant lessons along the way.

Yuri Elkaim's The All-Day Fat-Burning Diet provides the solution with his 5-Day Calorie Cycling Formula that sets your metabolism to lose up to 5 pounds a week. This plan eliminates the causes of weight gain and pushes the reset button on your fat-burning capacity. In The All-Day Fat-Burning Diet, Elkaim reveals rarely discussed "fat triggers" along with an easy and innovative way to double weight loss in just 3 weeks. Based on a powerhouse blend of nutritional know-how, fitness experience, and solid science, Elkaim's four-pronged approach features (1) strategically cycling calories and carbohydrates; (2) eating "clean and lean" foods that reduce "fat triggers" in the body; (3) exercising more intelligently; and (4) improving the body's ability to repair and avoid burnout. This proven program will reset your body to your desired factory settings and supercharge your metabolism to burn fat on autopilot--no matter age, fitness level, or health status.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The winners of the Nobel Prize show how economics, when done right, can help us solve the thorniest social and political problems of our day. Figuring out how to deal with today's critical economic problems is perhaps the great challenge of our time. Much greater than space travel or perhaps even the next revolutionary medical breakthrough, what is at stake is the whole idea of the good life as we have known it. Immigration and inequality, globalization and technological disruption, slowing growth and accelerating climate change--these are sources of great anxiety across the world, from New Delhi and Dakar to Paris and Washington, DC. The resources to address these challenges are there--what we lack are ideas that will help us jump the wall of disagreement and distrust that divides us. If we succeed, history will remember our era with gratitude; if we fail, the potential losses are incalculable. In this revolutionary book, renowned MIT economists Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo take on this challenge, building on cutting-edge research in economics explained with lucidity and grace. Original, provocative, and urgent, Good Economics for Hard Times makes a persuasive case for an intelligent interventionism and a society built on compassion and respect. It is an extraordinary achievement, one that shines a light to help us appreciate and understand our precariously balanced world.

The unique styles of conceptualising food systems and writing about them were preserved. Photographs and tables accompany each chapter.
