This book was released on 2015-12-11 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High quality FAA reprint of the CFI Practical Test Standards. Includes both single and multiengine sections of the FAA PTS. The Flight Instructor Airplane Practical Test Standards is to be used by the pilot and examiner in conducting a Flight Instructor Airplane checkride. Both the examiner and the pilot should completely understand the Flight Instructor Practical Test Standards. This guide indicates exactly what should be evaluated during the checkride. Too often pilots are not familiar with evaluation requirements of the Flight Instructor Airplane PTS and this often can lead to a failure of the practical test. It is not a mystery what the FAA Examiner will evaluate during the practical test. It is all explained in the FAA Flight Instructor Airplane Practical Test Standards. Elite Aviation Solutions has reprinted the official FAA Flight Instructor PTS for easy study by pilots. Taking time to review this book will not only help a pilot pass the practical test but will help the pilot understand the training requirements necessary to be ready for the checkride.

Book Synopsis Private Pilot Airman Certification Standards - Airplane by : Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Download or read book Private Pilot Airman Certification Standards - Airplane written by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and published by Ravenio Books. This book was released on 2016-09-25 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has published the Private Pilot - Airplane Airman Certification Standards (ACS) document to communicate the aeronautical knowledge, risk management, and flight proficiency standards for the private pilot certification in the airplane category, single-engine land and sea; and multiengine land and sea classes. This ACS incorporates and supersedes the previous Private Pilot Practical Test Standards for Airplane, FAA-S-8081-14. The FAA views the ACS as the foundation of its transition to a more integrated and systematic approach to airman certification. The ACS is part of the safety management system (SMS) framework that the FAA uses to mitigate risks associated with airman certification training and testing. Specifically, the ACS, associated guidance, and test question components of the airman certification system are constructed around the four functional components of an SMS: Safety Policy that defines and describes aeronautical knowledge, flight proficiency, and risk management as integrated components of the airman certification system; Safety Risk Management processes through which internal and external stakeholders identify and evaluate regulatory changes, safety recommendations and other factors that require modification of airman testing and training materials; Safety Assurance processes to ensure the prompt and appropriate incorporation of changes arising from new regulations and safety recommendations; and Safety Promotion in the form of ongoing engagement with both external stakeholders (e.g., the aviation training industry) and FAA policy divisions. The FAA has developed this ACS and its associated guidance in collaboration with a diverse group of aviation training experts. The goal is to drive a systematic approach to all components of the airman certification system, including knowledge test question development and conduct of the practical test. The FAA acknowledges and appreciates the many hours that these aviation experts have contributed toward this goal. This level of collaboration, a hallmark of a robust safety culture, strengthens and enhances aviation safety at every level of the airman certification system.

(LAST UPDATES)Record of Changes Change 1 (September 20, 2012) - Removed references to LORAN from the following: o "Abbreviations" section of Introduction o Objective 1 in Task L (Navigation Systems and Radar Services) of Section 1, Area of Operation II - Technical Subject Areas o Objective 1 in Task L (Navigation Aids and Radar Services) of Section 2, Area of Operation II - Technical Subject Areas Change 2 (November 21, 2012) - Revised Note in "Aircraft and Equipment Required for the Practical Test" section of Introduction regarding use of noncomplex airplanes during renewal or reinstatement of the Flight Instructor Certificate. - Revised Note in "Renewal or Reinstatement of a Flight Instructor Certificate" section of Introduction regarding use of non-complex airplanes during renewal or reinstatement of the Flight Instructor Certificate. Change 3 (January 28, 2013) - Revised the "Practical Test Prerequisites" section of the Introduction regarding the amount of time for which an endorsement from an authorized flight instructor may be used to apply for an initial certification or additional rating practical test. Change 4 (January 15, 2015) - Revised Note in "Aircraft and Equipment Required for the Practical Test" section of Introduction and added paragraph 4 clarifying when a non-complex airplane is required for the practical test. These edits are intended to make clear that a complex aircraft is not required when adding an airplane class rating to an existing flight instructor certificate that already contains an airplane category and class rating. The FAA finds the requirements for the use of a complex airplane are not necessary when the applicant has already satisfactorily demonstrated the takeoff, landing, emergency, and other Tasks contained within this PTS in a complex airplane. o For example, an applicant seeking to add a singleengine rating to an existing flight instructor certificate FAA-S-8081-6D that already contains an airplane multiengine category and class rating does not need to perform the practical test in a complex airplane. - Restored Objective 2 in Task F (Secondary Stalls (Demonstration)(ASEL and ASES)) of Section 1, Area of Operation XI - Slow Flights, Stalls, and Spins. o Previously removed inadvertently. Change 5 (June 17, 2016) - Updated all references throughout the document that referred to the Private Pilot Airplane Practical Test Standards (FAA-S-8081-14) to refer to the superseding Private Pilot - Airplane Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-6). Change 6 (April 19, 2018) - Removed the complex airplane requirement from practical tests for an airplane single-engine instructor rating and made corresponding changes to Task elements and the following sections in the Introduction: o "Aircraft and Equipment Required for the Practical Test" o "Renewal or Reinstatement of a Flight Instructor Certificate" Notice: This is a printed Paperback/Kindle version of the "FlIGHT INSTRUCTOR Practical Test Standards for Airplane Single-Engine Land and Sea (FAA-S-8081-6D with Changes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6), Effective April 2018". Download or read book Flight Instructor-Instrument for Airplane and Helicopter Practical Test Standards written by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and published by Aviation Supplies & Academics. This book was released on 2003-04 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Practical Test Standards (PTS) series guides student pilots, flight instructors, and FAA-designated examiners through checkrides, the final test in acquiring a pilot license. Each PTS guide details the skill and knowledge that must be successfully demonstrated before an examiner can issue a certificate or rating. The knowledge requirements detail which subjects will be covered -- which weather reports and forecasts candidates will be asked to analyse, which physiological conditions (such as dehydration, spatial disorientation, and hypoxia) candidates will need to discuss, and what kind of flight planning exercises will need to be demonstrated. The skill requirements include what kind of takeoff and landing must be performed, such as crosswind or short-field; how a steep turn should be executed, with specifics that include what bank angle and airspeed to use; and what areas will be tested on a continuous basis, such as the checklist usage, positive exchange of flight controls, and crew resource management. The tolerances are defined so the candidates know what altitude, airspeed, headings, and banks must be maintained to complete each manoeuvre successfully. Each PTS guide lists the knowledge and experience prerequisites for a particular certificate or rating and provides background information and study and reference materials.
