As no statistically significant signal is observed, we set a 95% confidence level upper limit on the relative branching fraction?(W{sup {+-}} →?{sup {+-}}?)/?(W{sup {+-}} → e{sup {+-}}?) at 6.4 x 10−5, a factor of 10 improvement over the previous limit.

We use a maximum likelihood fit to extract the signal yield and observe 2112{sup +13} signal events with a statistical signficance of 1.9 [sigma]. This corresponds to a branching fraction [Beta](B° 2![gamma][gamma]) = (1.7 ± 1.1(stat.) ± 0.2(syst.)) x 10−7. Based on this result, we set a 90% confidence level upper limit of [Beta](B° 2![gamma][gamma])

From the kinematical distribution of 79 events information on the form factors was extracted. The vector form factor F/sub V/ was found to have the same sign as the pion decay constant f/sub .pi./. For the axial-vector form factors the following values have been measured: .gamma. = F/sub A//F/sub V/ = 0.7 +- 0.5 and xi = R/F/sub V/ = 2.3 +- 0.6. This value of .gamma. agrees well with the small positive value of (0.53 +- 0.06) and excludes the large negative value obtained in .pi.+ .-->. e+.nu gamma. experiments. 8 refs. 8 refs.
