Book Synopsis The Legend Of The Secret Saga by : Estee Shoesmyth
Download or read book The Legend Of The Secret Saga written by Estee Shoesmyth and published by Fayshoneshire Limited. This book was released on 2023-08-01 with total page 1549 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over twenty years in the writing, the three books in The Legend of The Secret Saga series evolved to be an fascinating magical story unlike any other, as they poetically weave together a strange epic tale. THE AUTHOR, Estee Shoesmyth, is a tangible figment of her own unbridled paradoxical imagination and the fantasy fiction pseudonym of eclectic American artist, Suzanne T. Dietz. The Legend Of The Secret Saga is the complete epic trilogy in one colorful volume. There is no other story like it in The Real World! The fantastical epic tale opens in Book One, which is When Begin Began. Celestial Scribe, Angel Daria pens the following words: "To Whom It May Concern: When this immense historical accounting commenced, I surely did not anticipate that the nature of this story would ever veer off the straight and narrow path. Instead, it proceeded to travel along the strangest winding ways. And so, I followed it most dutifully — with my pen in hand. Once upon a time, an anonymous philosopher on The Ultimate Earth aptly intellectualized, 'There are always three sides to every story: your side, the other side, and the truth.' The story presented to you here may seem like nothing more than a collection of my own fantastical delusions. Surely, it could not be that which I, myself, have ever witnessed! In that case, it would certainly not make it to be truth. However, it is ... by my best accounting ... the strange but true enough telling of a deliberately long-lost story from somewhere far out on the other side of Who-Knows-Where." That's just the beginning! In Book Two, The Murky Middle, the story dims to very, very dark with the introduction of a terribly wicked magician's sorcery. Through magic, he enters into a spirit world and adamantly decided to stay there. From that secret domain he meets another and the two, in cahoots, do some deliberately evil damage that stretches out from that invisible place right into the unsuspecting folks who live day to day in The Real World. Those folks do not stand a chance to escape being affected by the magician's insidious determination to capture them all. Eventually, Adam and Eve are reincarnated into The Real World on a specific mission, years beyond the peak of that magician's vicious reign. By then, the worse had evidently devolved into the worst that ultimately leads through to Book Three, The End Of The End. This story is utterly fascinating. Its twisting and turning through that which may be somewhat recognizable is more tangled up into the fantastical that is addictive to read onward to find out what happens next. All throughout there is mystery, magic, love, hate, obsessiveness, rejection, maliciousness, brilliance, stupidity, sickness, healing, forgiveness, revenge, romance, weirdness, wonderment, heavy heartedness, humor, life, death, and reincarnation. All along, there is that concept of eternity being a time lasting for Forever. Which, according to all reports in The Real World, Forever is a long, long time. The Legend Of The Secret Saga is the complete epic trilogy in one colorful volume. There is no other story like it in The Real World. Not from When Begin Began, throughout The Murky Middle, and all the way to The End Of The End. It is a story that is a Fairytale and a Fantasy. Magical and Mythical. Poetic and Artistic. The Legend Of The Secret Saga is fantastical and not as expected it might be!

Book excerpt: According to legend, the Horned Serpent, a primordial symbol for evil, dwells in the watery abyss of Lake Manitou. To fifteen-year-old Lily Weber, who lives along the shores of Lake Manitou, the Horned Serpent is just another symbol for Satan, which the nuns at Sacred Heart Mission explained as Leviathan in the Old Testament and the Red Dragon in the New Testament. To Halvar Dobie, rumors of a Horned Serpent connect to his Norse heritage with Jormungandr, the creature destined to destroy the world with fire. If his forefathers are correct, an ancient quest is nearing the end. To Winnie Weber, Lily's mother, the evil Unktehi is a malicious monster from Lakota legend that brought the great flood and, even in death, is a force to be feared. To Lily's estranged grandfather Nanakonan, the Horned Serpent is mishi-ginebig, a dreaded creature from Anishinaabe lore that sleeps below the waters of his home, Lake Manitou. His hereditary role is to prepare a warrior to defeat this monster, but when his grandson is forcibly taken away to a boarding school, he is forced to teach Lily the secrets of their family. Caught between cultures, Lily confronts not only this sleeping evil but also her own faith and family as she learns what it means to be a FIREHANDLER. THE DREAMCATCHER CHRONICLES is a generational battle between good and evil, where the dark deeds of the past shape the present-and the prophecies of the future reach back to influence the past.

Download or read book Dream Derby written by Avalyn Hunter and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on 2023-09-12 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the morning of May 18, 1924, households across America opened their newspapers to the headline: "Derby Winner Property of Indian Woman." The woman in question was Rosa Magnet Hoots, a member of the Oklahoma Osage Nation. The horse, draped in the iconic red roses signifying his victory in the fiftieth running of the Kentucky Derby, was Black Gold. In a sport defined by its exclusivity, the pair's unlikely appearance in the winner's circle set off a firestorm of speculation that would uncover an origin story stranger than fiction. Named for the oil that had been discovered in large quantities in Oklahoma at the time of his birth, Black Gold was born in 1921 to a mare named Useeit. At the start of her hard-knocking racing career, Useeit had been purchased by Al Hoots, for whom she won thirty-two of a staggering 122 races. What the mare lacked in regality, she made up for in gumption, a trait Hoots believed could propel her progeny to the hallowed ground of Churchill Downs. Hoots himself would never see Black Gold, dying unexpectedly in 1917. But the legend that came to define the horse would begin with him. Languishing in his deathbed, Hoots claimed to have a prophetic dream that a colt born to Useeit would win the Kentucky Derby. He extracted a promise from his wife, Rosa, to breed the mare to the stallion Black Toney. The decision, which came to fruition three years after Hoots's death, would set in motion a story that would forever change Thoroughbred racing. In Dream Derby: The Myth and Legend of Black Gold, author Avalyn Hunter explores the personalities and histories that surrounded Black Gold. Told against the backdrop of a make-or-break moment for American horse racing and politics at large and framed by the racial violence that rocked Tulsa in the 1920s, Black Gold's victory at the Golden Jubilee stands at the intersection of sport and history. Hunter's work looks behind every stall and tack room door and celebrates the hard work that goes into a great horse and its rivals.

Book excerpt: With its unparalleled coverage of English slang of all types (from 18th-century cant to contemporary gay slang), and its uncluttered editorial apparatus, Cassell's Dictionary of Slang was warmly received when its first edition appeared in 1998. 'Brilliant.' said Mark Lawson on BBC2's The Late Review; 'This is a terrific piece of work - learned, entertaining, funny, stimulating' said Jonathan Meades in The Evening Standard. But now the world's best single-volume dictionary of English slang is about to get even better. Jonathon Green has spent the last seven years on a vast project: to research in depth the English slang vocabulary and to hunt down and record written instances of the use of as many slang words as possible. This has entailed trawling through more than 4000 books - plus song lyrics, TV and movie scripts, and many newspapers and magazines - for relevant material. The research has thrown up some fascinating results
Download or read book Shiva written by Wolf-Dieter Storl and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2004-09-14 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An extensive look at all the aspects of multi-natured Shiva • Explores the shamanic roots of world spirituality as exemplified by this Hindu god who shares many of the attributes of the Norse Odin and the Celtic Cernunnos • Looks at Shiva’s relation to contemporary culture, Tantra, and the dualistic religions of the West To his devotees Shiva is the entire universe and the core of all beings. Hindu myth shows him appearing at the beginning of creation as a giant pillar of fire from which this world sprang forth. Yet he is also the most approachable of gods, for he is the lover of lovers and the devotee of his devotees. Of the 1,008 names of Shiva, Pashupati, Lord of Animals, is one of the most common. His special relation to animals along with his trickster nature reveal the deep connection of Shiva to shamanism and other gods such as the Norse Odin and the Celtic Cernunnos that came out of the Paleolithic traditions. Ethnologist Wolf-Dieter Storl was first captivated by Shiva when he was in India as a visiting scholar at Benares Hindu University. In this book he invites readers to join in the lively and mythical world of Shiva, or Mahadev, God of All Gods. Shiva is a study in contrasts: As the lord of dance he loses himself in ecstatic abandon; with his consort Parvati he can make love for 10,000 years. Both men and women worship him for his ability to unite and balance masculine and feminine energies. But as the ascetic Shankar he sits in deep meditation, shunning women, and none dare disturb him lest he open his third eye and immolate the entire universe. Lord of intoxicants and poisons, he is the keeper of secret occult knowledge and powers, for which he is worshipped by yogis and demons alike. Shiva dances both the joy of being and the dance of doom--but in every aspect he breaks through the false ego to reveal the true self lying within. This is his true power.
