ONLY THE GIFTED CAN SEE IT. In upstate New York, Christopher Drew is leading a remarkable team of psychics in a groundbreaking union of science and psychokinesis. It's the ability to track manifestations of pure evil -- black clouds of doom that they have chased across an ever-darkening American landscape. As the storm clouds grow, so does Drew's fear that this gathering evil is powered by something far darker than human nature. And it knows it's being watched. ONLY THEY KNOW THE END IS NEAR. In the Arizona desert a theologian searches for proof of the divine. A mass of cultists prepares for the coming of the Antichrist. A spy is dispatched from the Vatican to unravel the truth of the psychics' visions. And as a startling Biblical revelation comes to light, as an apocalyptic battle between good and evil unfolds, Christopher Drew and his team must brave the fires of a hell on earth to carry out their manifest goal to the terrifying end...

In Finding Peace After a Suicide Loss, Elaine Kennelly shares the story of her eighteen-year-old son’s tragic death, opening up about the shattering blow and immediate anguish. Written in a format of then and now, the book courageously tackles the spiritual battles which face every suicide survivor: guilt, shame, rejection, blame, and stigma. The book is also not afraid to ask the question, “Why God? Why?” It took years for Elaine to start moving forward. Even then, her journey was made in baby-steps of love, prayer, forgiveness, obedience, and service. But there is victory to celebrate, as Finding Peace After a Suicide Loss shows the way to joy, real joy in a marriage that stays intact and a family that’s close at hand. Overcoming a suicide loss is possible — let Finding Peace After a Suicide Loss show you how.

Book excerpt: Throughout the ages, Satan has been seen as God’s implacable enemy, fiercely determined to keep as many human beings as he can from entering the heavenly kingdom. But according to Henry Ansgar Kelly, this understanding dates only from post-biblical times, when Satan was reconceived as Lucifer, a rebel angel, and as the serpent in the garden of Eden. In the Bible itself, beginning in the book of Job and continuing through the New Testament, Satan is considered to be a member of the heavenly government, charged with monitoring the human race. In effect, he is God’s Minister of Justice, bent on exposing sin and vice, especially in virtuous-seeming persons like Job and Jesus. He fills the roles of investigator, tempter (that is, tester), accuser, prosecutor, and punisher, but also obstructer, preventer of vice, and rehabilitator. He is much feared and despised, accused of underhanded and immoral tactics. His removal from office is promised and his eventual punishment hoped for. The later misreading of Satan as radically depraved transformed Christianity into a highly dualistic religion, with an ongoing contest between good and evil. Seeing Satan in his true nature, as a cynical and sinister celestial bureaucrat, will help to remedy this distorted view.

Book excerpt: From the National Book Award-winning and National Book Critics Circle Award-winning author of The Gnostic Gospels comes a dramatic interpretation of Satan and his role on the Christian tradition. "Arresting...brilliant...this book illuminates the angels with which we must wrestle to come to the truth of our bedeviling spritual problems." —The Boston Globe With magisterial learning and the elan of a born storyteller, Pagels turns Satan’s story into an audacious exploration of Christianity’s shadow side, in which the gospel of love gives way to irrational hatreds that continue to haunt Christians and non-Christians alike.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jon knows, better than most, what it means to battle anxiety and how to forge a path to victory. He also treats it with care, and pushes the conversation to places that it hasn't often gone in the church." —Kirk Cameron In the aftermath of the pandemic, even those who have never struggled with mental health have found themselves reeling, looking for answers they don't know how to find. For Christians, especially those who've despaired of help from a church that has too often stigmatized mental health challenges as a lack of faith, the way forward can be particularly difficult to see. Jonathon Seidl aims to fix that. Having fought his own way through crippling anxiety, life-altering OCD, and suicidal thoughts, he knows the value of concrete advice grounded in strong biblical truth. Instead of the trite or unsympathetic counsel that's often given, Finding Rest is practical, personal, and productive. Full of compelling stories, humor from a guide who's still on his journey, and scriptural truths, this book offers real hope and help. It also provides a lifeline for friends and family who long for ways to help relieve the suffering of their loved ones. And it lays out thoughtful, needed paths for the body of Christ to become a refuge of hope for the anxious.

Coleridge's nephew, son-in-law, and first editor, Henry Nelson Coleridge, began at the end of 1822 a record of Coleridge's remarks as a way of preparing an anthology of the interests and thought of the great poet and critic. His manuscripts, gathered to form the major text of his new edition, include passages on relatives, friends, and various censorable topics omitted from the Table Talk of 1835 and unpublished until now. These two volumes also contain talk recorded by other listeners from 1798 until Coleridge's death in 1834. Some of these records have not been previously published; some are published from manuscripts that differ from versions previously known. Also included are previously unpublished remarks by Wordsworth. Along with a bibliography of earlier editions of Table Talk and other useful appendixes, Carl Woodring's edition reprints the second edition (1836), which differs from the manuscripts more extensively than the edition of 1835. THis is the first fully annotated edition of a work that long remained more popular in the United Kingdom than any of the works in prose published by Coleridge himself. The two volumes make a convenient encyclopedia of his ideas and interests. Carl Woodring is George Edward Woodberry Professor of Literature Emeritus at Columbia University. Originally published in 1990. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By 1883, Dave Smith and Sam Eagle Feather Larson leave West Texas when bounty hunters pursue them. Finding a way to survive by chasing wild horses, the two settle into a horse camp where they round up likely horses for re-sale in El Paso. One magnificent herd leader has a reward on its return to the owner, Stan Piper. Dave agrees to break the wild stallion and sets about the dangerous task with help of a large Percheron horse that is three times the size of the herd stallion. Complications begin when Dave locates his missing girl-friend, Dolores Alconda and attempts to rekindle their loving relationship, only to learn that Dolores is to marry someone else, and he is devastated. Young fifteen year old tom-boy Andee Piper has designs on Dave Smith, and becomes his one true friend; though artless and clumsy, Andee attempts to snag Dave’s affections. Dolores further confounds matters, believing her fiancé dead, decides to marry Don Ruis Matoes, wealthy local ranch owner over the protests of her relatives and of Dave, who feels that Matoes has an underlying forbidding agenda. Having no other alternative, Dave stages a raid in which he abducts Dolores, steals Ruis’ racehorse, and a priest which turns into a deadly encounter with Ruis Matoes and his henchman, Ramon Garcia. Dave is seriously injured by the overzealous attempts of the Don and Garcia to learn where Dave has hidden the girl and the horse. Seeking help from the Piper’s, Dave becomes the object of a murderous attempt by Ruis to get what he wants through maneuvering and outright arson. The Piper’s become entangled in the two-way tug of war between Dave and Ruis after they learn that Wes Piper may have legitimate claims on the Matoes rancho. Only through perseverance and the assistance of a federal circuit judge does the show-down come about. Ruis, in his maddened lunacy, snatches Andee and her mother in the hope of outdistancing the law by using the two women as hostages. Saving Andee and her mother from being savagely murdered by the deranged Don falls to the capable hands of Dave, Sam, the Piper’s and the men from the village of San Miguel.
