Book Synopsis His Mercy Endures Forever by : Mark G. Boyer
Download or read book His Mercy Endures Forever written by Mark G. Boyer and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-03-29 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because there is no single word that translates the Hebrew word hesed and the Greek word eleos, multiple words are used in English biblical translations. Mercy is the most frequently used word in English, but forgiveness, generosity, pity, and others are also used. Using 106 biblical texts gathered from the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), the Old Testament Apocrypha, and the Christian Bible (New Testament), a representative sample of the various ways hesed and eleos are translated is presented in this book. Each entry consists of a short title, a few verses of Scripture, a reflection, a psalm response, a meditation/journal question, and a concluding prayer. The purpose of the book is to assist the reader’s development of spirituality, a deeper knowledge of divine mercy, meditation on how he or she has experienced it, and a closer relationship with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than four decades, the Bible studies taught by Dr. Alan B. Stringfellow (1922–1993) brought greater insight into God’s Word to thousands of believers. Now, the author of Through the Bible in One Year and Great Characters of the Bible leads readers on a verse-by-verse study of the book of Daniel. Stringfellow’s in-depth teaching will bring clarity and understanding to one of the most misunderstood books in Scripture. With this study, readers will learn… • How to identify the major themes • How to memorize key verses • How to recognize God’s central message • An overview of various interpretations of the book’s imagery • The role Daniel’s prophecies play in the entire biblical story By embarking on this journey, believers will discover the influence that the book of Daniel had on the life and literature of the Jewish people throughout the biblical period and all the way to the writers of the New Testament, including Jesus Christ Himself, who often quoted from it. But nowhere is that influence seen as thoroughly as in the writings of the apostle John and parallels that exist with the book of Revelation. As in John’s prophetic work, the book of Daniel describes in beautiful and marvelous language the glorious coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Like John, Daniel was sure and certain about the final triumph of the kingdom of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evidence of Grace is about God’s love and how God will never leave you or forsake a sinner who sincerely repents. Through a life of mistakes and turmoil, the author finds the evidence of God’s amazing grace and takes a closer look at some of the greatest Bible heroes—how they fell miserably, and how God still chose them to fulfill His Kingdom plan. King David did great things for God, but he also committed adultery and murder. Rahab, a sinner, became a saint in the latter part of her life. God can and will pardon repentant people and use them for His glorious purpose—regardless. Evidence of Grace also encourages you to pursue restoration of fallen Christian brothers and sisters and not to forget that God used some of the most messed-up people to accomplish great things for Him in spite of their shortcomings and mistakes.
Book Synopsis In Search of the Lost Sheep by : Calet Cortes Jr.
Download or read book In Search of the Lost Sheep written by Calet Cortes Jr. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2013-08-16 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Search of the Lost Sheep was written to encourage those who believe there is no hope for them in this world, to the one who feels alone, hurt and abused. This book references scripture that prove how much God loves everyone no matter who you are and no matter what circumstances you may be facing in life. It teaches that we may not make the best choices in life and end up paying the consequences for it, but that there is still a God who is willing to take us back and shape us into the person we were meant to be. This book gives examples of how merciful, compassionate and forgiving our God is that he sends his servants to go after them when they have become the lost sheep: the one who needs to come into the arms of a loving Savior, our Redeemer. The author challenges us to repent and turn away from our sins that lead us to unhappiness, destruction and ultimately, death. Because he himself experienced much misery in life as a result of being an alcoholic and making unwise decisions, after accepting Christ into his life, he now lives to reach out to those who also need the same freedom that he found in Jesus. In this book you will find reasons of why you should not give up. In Search of the Lost Sheep teaches the importance of prayer, the evidence of hope, the significance of repentance, the consequence of sin, the history of people in the Bible who encountered hardship but breakthrough and triumph for repenting; you will also read a brief testimony about the author as he describes his journey of being the lost sheep at one point in his life to the position where he stands now, seeking the lost and bringing them to the Savior.

Book excerpt: A Kirkus Best of Science Fiction and Fantasy pick for 2019! A Library Journal Best Book of 2019! An NPR Favorite Book of 2019! "Everything epic fantasy should be: rich, cruel, gorgeous, brilliant, enthralling and deeply, deeply satisfying. I loved it."—Lev Grossman, author of The Magicians When destiny calls, there's no fighting back. Kihrin grew up in the slums of Quur, a thief and a minstrel's son raised on tales of long-lost princes and magnificent quests. When he is claimed against his will as the missing son of a treasonous prince, Kihrin finds himself at the mercy of his new family's ruthless power plays and political ambitions. Practically a prisoner, Kihrin discovers that being a long-lost prince is nothing like what the storybooks promised. The storybooks have lied about a lot of other things, too: dragons, demons, gods, prophecies, and how the hero always wins. Then again, maybe he isn't the hero after all. For Kihrin is not destined to save the world. He's destined to destroy it. Jenn Lyons begins the Chorus of Dragons series with The Ruin of Kings, an epic fantasy novel about a man who discovers his fate is tied to the future of an empire. "It's impossible not to be impressed with the ambition of it all . . . a larger-than-life adventure story about thieves, wizards, assassins and kings to dwell in for a good long while."—The New York Times A Chorus of Dragons 1: The Ruin of Kings 2: The Name of All Things 3: The Memory of Souls
