The book provides comprehensive coverage of the signals and network analysis, network functions and two port networks, network synthesis and active filter design. The book is structured to cover the key aspects of the course Network Analysis & Synthesis. The book starts with explaining the various types of signals, basic concepts of network analysis and transient analysis using classical approach. The Laplace transform plays an important role in the network analysis. The chapter on Laplace transform includes properties of Laplace transform and its application in the network analysis. The book includes the discussion of network functions of one and two port networks. The book covers the various aspects of two port network parameters along with the conditions of symmetry and reciprocity. It also derives the interrelationships between the two port network parameters. The network synthesis starts with the realizability theory including Hurwitz polynomial, properties of positive real functions, Sturm's theorem and maximum modulus theorem. The book covers the various aspects of one port network synthesis explaining the network synthesis of LC, RC, RL and RLC networks using Foster and Cauer forms. Then it explains the elements of transfer function synthesis. Finally, the book illustrates the active filter design. This book was released on 2013-02-03 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the fact that in the digital domain, designers can take full benefits of IPs and design automation tools to synthesize and design very complex systems, the analog designers’ task is still considered as a ‘handcraft’, cumbersome and very time consuming process. Thus, tremendous efforts are being deployed to develop new design methodologies in the analog/RF and mixed-signal domains. This book collects 16 state-of-the-art contributions devoted to the topic of systematic design of analog, RF and mixed signal circuits. Divided in the two parts Methodologies and Techniques recent theories, synthesis techniques and design methodologies, as well as new sizing approaches in the field of robust analog and mixed signal design automation are presented for researchers and R/D engineers.

Book Synopsis Antennas with Non-Foster Matching Networks by : James T. Aberle
Download or read book Antennas with Non-Foster Matching Networks written by James T. Aberle and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most antenna engineers are likely to believe that antennas are one technology that is more or less impervious to the rapidly advancing semiconductor industry. However, as demonstrated in this lecture, there is a way to incorporate active components into an antenna and transform it into a new kind of radiating structure that can take advantage of the latest advances in analog circuit design. The approach for making this transformation is to make use of non-Foster circuit elements in the matching network of the antenna. By doing so, we are no longer constrained by the laws of physics that apply to passive antennas. However, we must now design and construct very touchy active circuits. This new antenna technology is now in its infancy. The contributions of this lecture are (1) to summarize the current state-of-the-art in this subject, and (2) to introduce some new theoretical and practical tools for helping us to continue the advancement of this technology.

Book Synopsis Analog Circuit Theory and Filter Design in the Digital World by : George S. Moschytz
Download or read book Analog Circuit Theory and Filter Design in the Digital World written by George S. Moschytz and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-15 with total page 551 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook is designed for graduate-level courses, and for self-study, in analog and sampled-data, including switched-capacitor, circuit theory and design for ongoing, or active electrical engineers, needing to become proficient in analog circuit design on a system, rather than on a device, level. After decades of experience in industry and teaching this material in academic settings, the author has extracted many of the most important and useful features of analog circuit theory and design and presented them in a manner that is easy to digest and utilize. The methodology and analysis techniques presented can be applied to areas well beyond those specifically addressed in this book. This book is meant to enable readers to gain a 'general knowledge' of one aspect of analog engineering (e.g., that of network theory, filter design, system theory and sampled-data signal processing). The presentation is self-contained and should be accessible to anyone with a first degree in electrical engineering.
