Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 5 of the Inspired Art Coloring Books SeriesA lot of my art is inspired by my environments. I like asking people what kind of animals they like, places I hang out at, or seeing a flowering tree. The world is an amazing place. I hope that you find my images as beautiful as I do, while creating them. Depending on your background, culture, mind set, you might see something completely different within each image. My art style was created over 25 years ago, inspired by the old method of creating silk screens. It is amazing to me that we can create such wonderful images out of pieces. That our minds can connect individual lines and merge them into these wonderful pieces of art. As I developed my style, it became how I say the energy and flow of things. An underlying base of life. People see many different cultural and artistic influences from around the world in my art. It makes my heart warm when I hear all the different things people see in my style. In some of my images the negative space is the focus of the drawing, so when you are coloring don't limit yourself to only coloring in the lines. There is no wrong way to color. Let the colors flow how it feels right to you. Some people don't see what I intended the image to be seen and instead find wonderful things I didn't see until they pointed them out to me. Each page can be cut out and framed so you can display your colored creations.I have included a page at the end of the book to test how your crayons, markers, pens, pencils, and any other medium you wish to use for bleed and look. Because of the paper weight, colored pencils are recommended. Markers will need a sheet of cardstock or a few pieces of paper under the page you are coloring to prevent possible bleed-thru onto the next art page.Feel free to visit my Author's page to see more of my books.ThanksBrian Scott

Book excerpt: An abundantly illustrated history of fantasy art, from the Old Masters to the present For hundreds of years, artists have been inspired by the imaginative potential of fantasy. Unlike science fiction, which is based on fact, fantasy presents an impossible reality—a universe where dragons breathe fire, angels battle demons, and magicians weave spells. Published to coincide with a major exhibition organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum, this handsome volume reveals how artists have brought to life mythology, fables, and fairy tales, as well as modern epics like The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. The main text of Enchanted, by exhibition curator Jesse Kowalski, traces the emergence of the themes of fantasy in the world’s civilizations, and the development of fantasy illustration from the Old Masters to the Victorian fairy painters, to Golden Age illustrators like Howard Pyle and Arthur Rackham, to classic cover artists like Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo, to emerging talents like Anna Dittmann and Victo Ngai. Additional essays by distinguished contributors address particular aspects of fantasy illustration, such as the relationship between science and fantasy in the nineteenth century, and the illustrators of Robert E. Howard. Enchanted features more than 180 color illustrations, including numerous stunning full-page reproductions. This handsome volume is a must-have reference for artists and illustrators, and a delight for all lovers of fantasy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A beautiful visual history book of fantasy art from Romanticism and steampunk to modern illustrations from novels. Art has always been one of the most vivid ways to express people's imagination. Fantasy art illustrates the full range of human fears and dreams, from mythology, the Bible, and the artist's own original and exciting stories. This book describes the history of fantasy art from Romanticism in the 18th century to the modern era by exploring the masterpieces of fantasy artists: William Blake, John Martin, Albert Robida, Jules Gabriel Verne, H.G. Welles, and more. It also shows illustrations from science fiction and fantasy novels such as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, poems and stories by Edgar Allan Poe, mystery novels by Agatha Christie, and contemporary fantasy novelists such as J.R.R. Tolkien and Michael Ende. This book illustrates the remarkable transition of fantasy art that occurred in 19th century when steampunk was introduced to the fantasy art world. Steampunk was unique because it was a fantasy-based style that was inspired by a real event, the Industrial Revolution. Today, the influence of steampunk can be seen in everywhere, from legendary films by Walt Disney and Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli. This book will surely satisfy all lovers of fantasy art and literature.
