Book Synopsis Diritto di famiglia e servizi sociali by : Leonardo Lenti
Download or read book Diritto di famiglia e servizi sociali written by Leonardo Lenti and published by G Giappichelli Editore. This book was released on 2014-11-04 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Science of Linguistics in the Art of Translation by : Joseph L. Malone
Download or read book The Science of Linguistics in the Art of Translation written by Joseph L. Malone and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing from more than two hundred examples representing twenty-two languages of wide genetic and typological variety, the author guides the reader through a broad collection of situations encountered in the analysis and practice of translation. This enterprise gains structure and rigor from the methods and findings of contemporary linguistic theory, while realism and relevance are served by the choice of "naturalistic" examples from published translations. Coverage draws from a variety of genres and text-types (literary works, the Bible, newspaper articles, legal and philosophical writings, for examples), and addresses a thorough selection of structural-functional aspects. These range from discrepancies between source and target languages in sentence construction, to dfiferences between source and target poetic traditions with respect to meter and rhyme.
Book Synopsis Analysing Social Policy by : Greg Marston
Download or read book Analysing Social Policy written by Greg Marston and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together leading international researchers to discuss governmental approaches to analysing social policies. Analysing Social Policy expands the scope of social policy analysis using the insights from post-Foucauldian scholarship on the art of governing in liberal democracies. One of the main conclusions reached is that policy researchers need to pay much greater attention to the minutiae of policy reform, and to the discursive and material ways in which power operates in policy change. The chapters comprising this book are purposefully written in a clear, accessible and reflective manner, with each of the contributions empirically grounded, drawing on social policy problems and practices in many countries, ranging from North America to Europe to Australasia. The editors address key concerns of both policy analysts as well as academic researchers attempting to locate appropriate theoretical frameworks to make sense of welfare state restructuring in the 21st century. This book will appeal to researchers and research students in political science, social policy, social work and sociology through its demonstration of how to apply contemporary social theory to research problems. It will also be of interest to policy scholars around the world who are involved in analysing the intersections of power, politics and policy.
Book Synopsis Europe and Problems of Marketization by : Colin Crouch
Download or read book Europe and Problems of Marketization written by Colin Crouch and published by Firenze University Press. This book was released on 2013 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

He introduces central terms such as philanthropy, charity, community, social entrepreneurship, social investment, public good and civil society, whilst explaining how the field spills over from public management, through nonprofit management and public administration. Book Synopsis Nonprofits for Hire by : Steven Rathgeb Smith
Download or read book Nonprofits for Hire written by Steven Rathgeb Smith and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2009-06-30 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, government's primary response to the emergent problems of homelessness, hunger, child abuse, health care, and AIDS has been generated through nonprofit agencies funded by taxpayer money. As part of the widespread movement for privatization, these agencies represent revolutionary changes in the welfare state. Steven Smith and Michael Lipsky demonstrate that this massive shift in funds has benefits and drawbacks. Given the breadth of government funding of nonprofit agencies, this first study of the social, political, and organizational effects of this service strategy is an essential contribution to the current raging debates on the future of the welfare state. Reviews of this book: "An insightful analysis of the implications of an important, broad trend of the past thirty years in the social welfare policy of the United States and many other countries...[Smith and Lipsky] demonstrate that we do not have to read about other countries to find a comparative perspective that sheds light on the choices we face in our national health care debate." DD--Bradford H. Gray, Health Affairs "The most comprehensive account we have of the history, extent, nature, and meaning of delivering social services that are paid for by government and delivered through nonprofit organizations." DD--H. Brinton Milward, Public Administration Review "An interesting, absorbing, and important book." DD--William T. Gormley, Jr., American Political Science Review "An important contribution to welfare state scholarship." DD--Kirsten A. Gronbjerg, Contemporary Sociology
