Book Synopsis Art in Social Work Practice by : Ephrat Huss
Download or read book Art in Social Work Practice written by Ephrat Huss and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-10-11 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book ever to be published on arts use in social work. Bringing together theoretical connections between arts and social work, and with practice examples of arts in micro and macro social work practice from around the world, the book aims to inspire the reader with new ideas. It provides specific skills, defines what is social rather than fine or projective art use, and explains the theoretical connection between art and social work. It has chapters from all over the world, showing how arts are adjusted to different cultural contexts. Section I explores the theoretical connections between art and social work, including theories of resilience, empowerment, inclusion and creativity as they relate to art use in social work. Section II describes specific interventions with different populations. Each chapter also summarizes the skills and hands-on knowledge needed for social workers to use the practical elements of using arts for social workers not trained in these fields. The third section does the same for arts use in community work and as social change and policy. Using Art in Social Work Practice provides theoretical but also hands-on knowledge about using arts in social work. It extends the fields of both social work and arts therapy and serves as a key resource for students, academics and practitioners interested in gaining the theoretical understanding and specific skills for using social arts in social work, and for arts therapists interested in using social theories.

Book Synopsis Contemplation and Incarnation by : Christophe F. Potworowski
Download or read book Contemplation and Incarnation written by Christophe F. Potworowski and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2001-11-12 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relying on both Chenu's previously unpublished materials and his many publications, Christophe Potworowski examines the role of faith and contemplation in the Dominican life and in theology as well as considering the historical and social dimensions of the human situation in terms of individual and ecclesial existence. He discusses the prophetic role of the theologian and some of the problems this involves. Potworowski raises the question of how incarnation as an overall structure is related to the particularities of Christology and provides insights into the development of Catholic theology in the crucial period leading to Vatican II. The accompanying bibliography of Chenu's complete writings, unavailable elsewhere, is a valuable instrument of theological research.
Book Synopsis Problem Of The Unity Of Science, The - Proceedings Of The Annual Meeting Of The International Academy Of The Philosophy Of Science by : Evandro Agazzi
Download or read book Problem Of The Unity Of Science, The - Proceedings Of The Annual Meeting Of The International Academy Of The Philosophy Of Science written by Evandro Agazzi and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2001-11-28 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The unity of science has been a widely discussed issue both in the philosophy of science and within several sciences. Reductionism has often been seen as the means of bringing the different sciences to a fundamental unity by reference to some basic science, but it shows many limitations. Multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity have also been proposed as methodologies for attaining unity without underestimating the diversity of the sciences. This volume starts with a clarification of the possible meanings of this unity and then discusses the features of the mentioned approaches to unity, evaluating the success and the shortcomings of the unification programme among different sciences and within a single science.
Book Synopsis Du musée conservateur au musée virtuel by : BAUJARD Corinne
Download or read book Du musée conservateur au musée virtuel written by BAUJARD Corinne and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-02-01 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Déjà-vu and the Authentic by : Jean-Jacques Chardin
Download or read book The Déjà-vu and the Authentic written by Jean-Jacques Chardin and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04-25 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The correlated concepts of the déjà-vu and the authentic suggest that all cultural productions are per se palimpsests whose construction is the result of such processes as reprise, recycling, and recuperating. Reprise is approached as various forms of citation, reference and intertextuality; recycling is defined as commodification and intellectual impoverishment; while recuperating implies the ideological process that makes reappropriation possible. By covering a wide spectrum of research interests, from literature to music, art and the cinema, the seventeen contributions in English or in French explore the political and ethical implications inherent in the creation of culture.
