Trotz allem ist Facebook das größte soziale Netzwerk der Welt, mehr als 500 Millionen Menschen sind Teil dieser Plattform. Alle wollen Teil des Web 2.0 sein und aktiv das Internet mitgestalten. Jeder vierte Internetnutzer der Welt war Mitte 2010 angemeldet, dadurch ist Facebook zur "größten Datensammlung über die Menschheit" geworden, zum "Meldeamt des Internets". 2 Jedoch wissen besonders Jugendliche nicht, was mit ihren Daten eigentlich passiert und gehen viel zu leichtsinnig mit intimen Details um. Sie unterschätzen die Reichweite ihrer Veröffentlichungen und die Auswirkungen. In den Weiten des Internets gibt es nicht nur die Chance neue Leute kennenzulernen und Freundschaften über Kontinente hinweg zu knüpfen, das Internet birgt auch Gefahren wie die Verletzung von Persönlichkeitsrechten und Cybermobbing. Da das Thema Facebook ein sehr weites Feld ist, kann auf sehr viele verschiedene Aspekte eingegangen werden.
