Book Synopsis An Expression of Love to God's Favor by : Kraig Hawkins
Download or read book An Expression of Love to God's Favor written by Kraig Hawkins and published by Author House. This book was released on 2006-08-10 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book that praises God for His favor of salvation and the blessing of having a wife. The Bible commands a husband to love his wife as Jesus Christ loves the church. This book is a response to that commandment; as every poem that is written, is from the author’s heart to his wife. This book is great reading for all audiences because it is a powerful testimony of the transforming power of God’s love. Only the love of God could get a man, who at one time was afraid of love, to open his heart and share it with his wife and the rest of the world.

Book Synopsis Natural Expressions by : Andrea J. Parham-Shannon
Download or read book Natural Expressions written by Andrea J. Parham-Shannon and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-12-17 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural Expressions "A Family Affair" truly reflect "Gods" favor on me. "Gods" hand is a hand of power and "He" has continued to keep me in "His" hands as I go forth in "His" name with Natural Expressions. Since Natural Expressions "Up Close and Personal", many changes in my life have come but, through Christ Jesus and His Angels "Grace and Mercy", I've been able to endure the challenges. As the elders would say "what don't kill us only makes us stronger" and boy ain't that the truth. "A Family Affair" is dedicated in memory of my husband Rudolph who passed away in September 2010. The memory of him enjoying my poetry will always be an inspiration. My favorite book of romance is the Bible's Old Testaments "Song of Solomon". God's love is powerful. "Look at God". Another collection, another blessing. Oh, I look to the hills and I defi nitely recognize where and whom my help comes from. Since Natural Expressions "Up Close and Personal" I've relocated to the hometown of my family in Warrenton, North Carolina, a drastic change from Washington, DC but, I welcome the change and the folks are wonderful. "A Family Affair" was inspired by everyday living, family, friends, church and romance. A chance fi nally to share my children's (April and Vernon) school days poetry. How surprised I was to fi nd a suitcase tucked away that contained much of my children's school work, pictures, and report cards and yes, poetry written by them. What an honor to share their expressions. As always, "To God be the glory". I pray that you have found one if not many poems in this collection to uplift and encourage you along your journey. If so, than our writings are not in vain. Peace and Blessings, Andrea J. Parham-Shannon

Book Synopsis Poetry from the Heart by : Cynthia Folston-Williams
Download or read book Poetry from the Heart written by Cynthia Folston-Williams and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-03-17 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite unfathomable emotional pain, betrayal by loved ones, and a vicious cycle of yearning for outwardly love and attention, healing of the heart is possible! This book is not just words penned to make someone feel good. Poetry from the Heart is a book of deeply personal expressions that reveal many of my life experiences and the deliberate obstacles that God allowed me to go through to heal myself and to help heal others. Some of the poems were directly inspired by the Holy Spirit. This is the first of several books God put in me. In the process of writing this book, I found answers to questions that I had for years. God told me years ago that I would write poetry and that it would get published in a book that would provide me with answers to many question I had. It would also open my eyes about why certain things happened in my life. As I wrote the poems, God allowed the mysteries to unfold. And just as He told me I would, I found the answers that blessed me. The poem Where is God When it Hurts? is the one that inspired me most and triggered the birthing of this book. I went through a vivid time in my life that the only way healing came was through writing what I was feeling. Out of the writings came Poetry from the Heart. For this I am so grateful. I pray that this book will be a blessing to every hand that holds it and every soul that receives it. May it bring wholeness and healing to every part of you and help to lay the foundation for discovering the answers to questions that you, too, have pondered in your heart and never shared with anyone. ... BUT GOD HE THOUGHT I WAS WORTH SAVING To God be the Glory

Book Synopsis My Bright Abyss by : Christian Wiman
Download or read book My Bright Abyss written by Christian Wiman and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven years ago, Christian Wiman, a well-known poet and the editor of Poetry magazine, wrote a now-famous essay about having faith in the face of death. My Bright Abyss, composed in the difficult years since and completed in the wake of a bone marrow transplant, is a moving meditation on what a viable contemporary faith—responsive not only to modern thought and science but also to religious tradition—might look like. Joyful, sorrowful, and beautifully written, My Bright Abyss is destined to become a spiritual classic, useful not only to believers but to anyone whose experience of life and art seems at times to overbrim its boundaries. How do we answer this "burn of being"? Wiman asks. What might it mean for our lives—and for our deaths—if we acknowledge the "insistent, persistent ghost" that some of us call God? One of Publishers Weekly's Best Religion Books of 2013

Book Synopsis Twenty Poems to Pray by : Gary M. Bouchard
Download or read book Twenty Poems to Pray written by Gary M. Bouchard and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2019-08-01 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing from the poetry of generations of esteemed writers Gary Bouchard shows how poems often express the longings of the human heart as a kind of prayer. Emily Dickinson, Rev. Rowan Williams, Pope John Paul II, Christina Rossetti, Robert Frost, and Fr. Kilian McDonnell, OSB, among others, offer readers an inspiring path to reflect upon and pray with poetic verse. Arranged under six engaging themes, each selection uses the words of poets as vehicles to prompt “heaven in ordinary” or to praise like “exalted manna”; to find the right “paraphrase” for your own soul or maybe sense your “soul’s blood”; to muster up from your grief or anger “reversed thunder” or dare to articulate from your own personal anguish “Christ-side-piercing spear.”
