Book excerpt: This text was originally published in 2004 as a provisional road map gesturing to a plan of action for liberation at the level of the idea vitally compulsory to dismantle the hegemony of the white world order of power in the 21st century. Since 2004 deconstruction of the oeuvre of Frantz Fanon, Michel Foucault, Derek Walcott, the discourse of massa of African enslavement in the Caribbean and the Thought of Xi Jinping for the New Era have been published, which has changed the nature of the road map today versus that of 2004. An extensive revision of the text of 2004 was now necessary which focuses on the the nature of hallucinatory whiteness that afflicts non-white peoples under the hegemony of massa white world order of power, thereby rendering them incapable of liberating themselves at the level of the idea. The need now was to uncover hallucinatory whiteness as it constitutes human action and how the nature of this action is the product of hallucinatory whiteness hence it reinforces white hegemony over the non-white person at the level of the idea. To this end a deconstruction of the writings of Toussaint L'Ouverture of the Haitian Revolution, George Jackson of the African Revolution of Amerikkka and skin bleaching in the Caribbean in the 21st century are presented as case studies illustrating potently the debilitating power hallucinatory whiteness wields over the mind of non-white persons who insist they are champions of liberation, which drives the resilience of massa hegemony over non white peoples of the world.

It is in fact a journey of liberation traced through a series of texts of western discourse culminating in the discursive rupture that the works of Michel Foucault constituted. Liberation is then premised upon exiting the racist worldview of the North Atlantic via/towards alternate non-western discourse one of which is Islamic discourse. The third volume of the trilogy deals with the discursive origins of Al Qaeda within the ambit of Islamic discourse (forthcoming).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the vast majority of human existence we did without the idea of race. Since its inception a mere few hundred years ago, and despite the voluminous documentation of the problems associated with living within the racial worldview, we have come to act as if race is something we cannot live without. The Arc of a Bad Idea: Understanding and Transcending Race presents a penetrating, provocative, and promising analysis of and alternative to the hegemonic racial worldview. How race came about, how it evolved into a natural-seeming aspect of human identity, and how racialization, as a habit of the mind, can be broken is presented through the unique and corrective framing of race as a time-bound (versus eternal) concept, the lifespan of which is traceable and the demise of which is predictable. The narratives of individuals who do not subscribe to racial identity despite be ascribed to the black/African American racial category are presented as clear and compelling illustrations of how a non-racial identity and worldview is possible and arguably preferable to the status quo. Our view of and approach to race (in theory, pedagogy, and policy) is so firmly ensconced in a sense of it as inescapable and indispensible that we are in effect shackled to the lethal absurdity we seek to escape. Theorist, teachers, policy-makers and anyone who seeks a transformative perspective on race and racial identity will be challenged, enriched, and empowered by this refreshing treatment of one of our most confounding and consequential dilemmas.

The text presents a deconstruction of Islamic discourse with specific reference to jihad (military engagement) and the shahid (martyr). The Al Qaeda discourse of the greater kufr is deconstructed to expose its antecedents in militarist Islamic discourse born out of the contradiction between Islam and western capitalist colonial imperialism. Primary to the development of the discourse of military engagement with the west is the discourse of Pakistani thinkers deconstructed in the text. The discourse of Al Qaeda is then the product of contradiction between Islam and western imperialism and hegemony. Thereby constituting the most potent threat to Islam since the crusades as manifested in the discourse of Al Qaeda.

Book excerpt: The original text of this work was published in 2014 which meant that events after the death of President Hugo Chavez in Venezuela in March 2013 such as the Maduro Presidency from 2013 to 2024 and the impact of the unilateral coercive measures of the USA on the natural gas sector of Venezuela need to be included in a revised version. Likewise, the evolution of the gas production shortfall and the measures slated to mitigate this shortfall in T&T, including the dance with Venezuela for the supply of Venezuelan gas to the gas sector of T&T which involves the grave risk of US unilateral coercive measures impacting the gas supply relationship with Venezuela with telling impact on the gas sector of T&T must be analysed. This updated revision presents then the developments in the gas sectors of Venezuela and T&T from 2014 to 2024 thereby analysing the pressing reality of the impact of geopolitics on the LNG sector of both T&T and Venezuela in the 21st century.

Book excerpt: This text first published in 2014 presented a deconstruction of 21st century Salafi Jihadi discourse of Jihad is war of Sunni Islam by select discursive agents of this discourse. The abiding finding of this deconstruction is the reality that Salafi Jihadi discourse of Jihad is war is rooted in North Atlantic white supremacist humanist secular atheist imperialist colonialist discourse not Qur'anic discourse, this discourse is then shirk. Events in Islam since 2014 demanded a revision of this 2014 work and the war of genocide against Gaza, the largest open-air prison in the world today, by the zionists and massa from October 2023 demanded that this task be completed. The new edition has been extensively reviewed, a new section added to the chapter on Al-Awlaki and a new chapter added on the discourse of Al-Suri. The war of genocide against Gaza has proven once again the complicity of the munafiqun of Islam with massa in their futile attempt to silence Qur'anic discourse. This text was written by a Muslim of the west for Muslims of the west.

Book excerpt: This book analyses Mexican Transnational Trafficking Organisations (MTTOs) organised crime enterprises in Belize with specific emphasis on human smuggling and the joint organised crime enterprises with politicians and public servants. The driving discourse of the book insists that the failure of the Belizean state to resist the assault of transnational organised crime lies in the failure of its imported and imposed Westminster model of government to form an organic bond with the neo-colonial plantation social order since independence. And that the discourse of corruption is inadequate to the task of unraveling the reality of this Frankenstein monster seeking to pass itself of as a modern North Atlantic state.

Book excerpt: From 10 January 1979 to 4 April 1979 Michel Foucault delivered his annual public lecture at the College De France, Paris titled: 'The Birth of Biopolitics' which did not deal with Biopolitics and its Birth. Foucault in this 1979 public lecture delivered a deconstruction of the North Atlantic discourse of liberalism/neo-liberalism. Foucault's deconstruction presented the key, basic, strategic concepts of the discourse and its discursive agents thereby revealing the worldview of the discourse, its strategic agenda and its concepts of governmentality to realise its hegemony over the social order. This work is a deconstruction of Foucault's discourse of liberalism/neo-liberalism towards articulating: the order of power of North Atlantic neo-liberalism in the 21st Century since the financial meltdown of 2008 and articulating the order of power of the colonial/neo-colonial order of power of the English speaking Caribbean in the 21st Century. The salient reality that has emerged from this exercise is the replication of the colonial/neo-colonial order of power in the North Atlantic under the hegemony of neo-liberal discourse especially since the financial meltdown of 2008 to 2021. A North Atlantic neo-colonial order of power on steroids.

This book was released on 2019-02-15 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work is a deconstruction of the discursive constructs of Frantz Fanon in his final work "The Wretched of the Earth" and their application to the reality of the 21st century in the neo-colonial world. These constructs are: decolonisation and violence, the nature of power and power relations of neo-colonial African states, the neo-colonial existential condition and the impact of the Algerian war of liberation on the psyche of Algerians. This deconstruction unearthed Fanon's gesture to the formulation of the discursive construct of the colonial-neo-colonial continuum and its pre-cursor the enslavement-colonialism continuum.

Book excerpt: Colonial Capital Theory at Work: The Case of Jamaica contributes to our understanding of the emerging Caribbean and explains how some have intentionally used “sociological imagination,” or the links between history and biography, to achieve prosperity. O. Alexander Miller examines how potential immigrants from the Caribbean employ sociological imagination and, by so doing, achieve sustained intergenerational financial prosperity even while living in relatively poor home societies. The book focuses on Jamaicans because they are one of the largest groups of black Caribbean immigrants in the United States and England. Furthermore, their home society illustrates how well sociological imagination works for those who employ it, even in a post-colonial society where there are historical disparities between the socially approved goals of society and the structural means for reaching those goals. Colonial Capital Theory at Work is written not only for scholars in sociology, migration studies and Caribbean studies, but also for members of immigrant communities, especially of African ancestry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work is a deconstruction of the political discourse of politicians in Trinidad and Tobago from the 1950's to the present. This deconstruction has revealed a discourse of racist hegemony is the basis for political mobilisation in Trinidad and Tobago as it frames a mental image of a hegemonic race wielding state power over a dominated race consigned to the wilderness of opposition politics. The resources of the state exist then for the benefit of the hegemonic race and those who conceive of self as belonging to races in competition for state resources must then do their political duty to ensure the hegemony of their race. Politics has nothing to do with governance, personal and social development.

Book excerpt: The work adds to efforts underway from Feagin and Piven by challenging scholars to change the way we think about inequalities among ourselves, and to consider alternative ways to do sociology beyond regurgitatively publishing articles only to achieve the expected tenure. The book pays special attention to the importance of defeating meta-narratives and points out that the academy's emphasis on statistically based research does not permit the critique of meta-narratives which drive inequality within the academy and wider society.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can the God of the Old Testament be the same God of the New Testament? With an evolutionary lens, there is a reasonable answer to this question. At every stage of development, we can have an inspired understanding of the Divine, but our perception will be configured by our worldview or value system. Like transparencies on an overhead projector, in this book we overlay two valuable tools: the model of the Documentary Hypothesis and the model of Spiral Dynamics, enabling us to view the God of the Hebrew Scriptures from an Integral perspective. This book invites you to make peace with the God of the Old Testament while honoring the ancients. It helps you release the dogma of religion and gives space for you to evolve your understanding of God and awaken to an integral acceptance of the inevitable and necessary stages of human development.

Book excerpt: How digital networks are positioned within the enduring structures of coloniality The revolutionary aspirations that fueled decolonization circulated on paper—as pamphlets, leaflets, handbills, and brochures. Now—as evidenced by movements from the Arab Spring to Black Lives Matter—revolutions, protests, and political dissidence are profoundly shaped by information circulating through digital networks. Digital Unsettling is a critical exploration of digitalization that puts contemporary “decolonizing” movements into conversation with theorizations of digital communication. Sahana Udupa and Ethiraj Gabriel Dattatreyan interrogate the forms, forces, and processes that have reinforced neocolonial relations within contemporary digital environments, at a time when digital networks—and the agendas and actions they proffer—have unsettled entrenched hierarchies in unforeseen ways. Digital Unsettling examines events—the toppling of statues in the UK, the proliferation of #BLM activism globally, the rise of Hindu nationalists in North America, the trolling of academics, among others—and how they circulated online and across national boundaries. In doing so, Udupa and Dattatreyan demonstrate how the internet has become the key site for an invigorated anticolonial internationalism, but has simultaneously augmented conditions of racial hierarchy within nations, in the international order, and in the liminal spaces that shape human migration and the lives of those that are on the move. Digital Unsettling establishes a critical framework for placing digitalization within the longue durée of coloniality, while also revealing the complex ways in which the internet is entwined with persistent global calls for decolonization.
