Book excerpt: In the Beginnings is a defense of the biblical Gap Theory of Creation. This theory, once popular in the late 19th and early to mid 20th centuries, has been rejected by many modern-day creationists as being without biblical or scientific support. This book takes an in-depth look at both science and the Bible. Its purpose is to show how the Gap Theory better fits the scientific and biblical facts. More importantly, its main purpose is to reach out to unbelievers who think the Bible teaches things contrary to science. True scientific facts and true Biblical truths do not contradict. The basic assumption of the author is that God is smart enough and powerful enough and sovereign enough to make His Works and His Words agree. Because God reveals His invisible attributes in His handiwork, the author uses both God's Word and His work to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr. Steven Dill, once a staunch evolutionist, began investigating creationism after becoming aware of some scientific facts that seemed incompatible with his own beliefs. Taking the position that truth will stand the test, he began challenging even his own ideas about the origin of the universe. His conclusion was that true scientific facts and true Biblical truths do not contradict, and in this book he presents a new look at an old theory that preserves the integrity of both science and the Bible. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1979 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is currently a practicing veterinarian in Jeffersontown, Kentucky where he lives with his wife, Linda, and two dogs, Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton. His two sons, Tom and James, have grown into fine young Christian men who make their parents proud.

Disciples and Apostles of Yahshua is but a more accurate restorative account of the facts and figures surrounding the Incarnate Word of a Loving Father. It rescues that which had been forfeited to the world of the dead: us. The careful and methodical piecing of the relevant facts and circumstances surrounding a divine plan of redemption, for all who have been called to a better life in a better place, is the main message of this 22-piece harmonizing literary composition. It is the story of the saints who chose truth over despair. Disciples and Apostles of Yahshua is a lifeline into the Bosom of our Holy Father. It is the story of the social, political and religious obstacles that must be negotiated to reach the Paradise of a Loving Father and Wonderful Elder Brother. God, gods and goddesses have been distracting us from pursuing the promising path that leads to peace and prosperity. This book is that long-awaited mute-button that deletes those distractions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The two journeys involving Moses[1] as an instrument of a higher power may seem unrelated but are never more minor parts of one event. Indeed, they are an incomplete narrative of one event if we read about the second event without some knowledge of the first. This Post-Doctoral study is on two of Moses’ journeys, the one, to Midian and back, before the Exodus proper and the one better known as the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. Beginning briefly with his first journey in 1508 BC[2] as a flight from Egypt after being sought for killing a brutal slave-master and continuing with Moses’ second journey as the leader on the flight of a mixed group of Semitic people from their slavery in Egypt to their freedom and nationhood on their arrival in the Promised Land after the death of Moses.

Book excerpt: The human population's annual total consumption is not sustainable by one planet. This unprecedented situation calls for a reform of religious cultures that promote a large ideal family size. Many observers assume that Christianity is inevitably part of this problem because it promotes "family values" and statistically, in America and elsewhere, has a higher birthrate than nonreligious people. This book explores diverse ideas about human reproduction in the church past and present. It investigates an extreme fringe of U.S. Protestantism, including the Quiverfull movement, that use Old Testament "fruitful" verses to support natalist ideas explicitly promoting higher fecundity. It also challenges the claim by some natalists that Martin Luther in the 16th century advocated similar ideas. This book argues that natalism is inappropriate as a Christian application of Scripture, especially since rich populations’ total footprints are detrimental to biodiversity and to human welfare. It explores the ancient cultural context of the Bible verses quoted by natalists. Challenging the assumption that religion normally promotes fecundity, the book finds surprising exceptions among early Christians (with a special focus on Saint Augustine) since they advocated spiritual fecundity in preference to biological fecundity. Finally the book uses a hermeneutic lens derived from Genesis 1, and prioritising the modern problem of biodiversity, to provide ecological interpretations of the Bible's "fruitful" verses.
