Nous avons montré que les débits volumiques moyens mesures pendant le remplissage sont différents des débits volumiques imposes, et que le paramètre le plus significatif est la géométrie de l'empreinte. Nous avons également montré que le débit volumique au front de matière évolue de façon significative pendant la phase de remplissage. Un modèle simple a permis d'attribuer ces différents phénomènes à la compressibilité du matériau et à sa viscosité de volume (tres supérieure à sa viscosité de cisaillement) qui ne sont généralement pas pris en compte lors des simulations de la phase de remplissage. Une étude paramétrique de l'influence des conditions de transformation, et de la géométrie de l'empreinte sur les pressions mesurées en fin de remplissage pour différents matériaux a été réalisée. La comparaison des résultats de cette étude à ceux des simulations correspondantes par un logiciel commercial de référence est en tendance satisfaisante. Les écarts calcul-mesuré pour des conditions de transformation extrêmes ont été attribué d'une part à l'utilisation par ce modèle d'une loi de comportement trop simple, et d'autre part à la méthode de calcul employée qui n'utilise pas de discrétisation dans l'épaisseur de l'empreinte. Une comparaison similaire a ponctuellement été réalisée sur l'évolution de la pression en différents points du disque d'épaisseur 2 mm pendant le remplissage. Elle a validé le choix de la pression de fin de remplissage comme critère de jugement de la qualité de la modélisation. Nous avons ponctuellement réalisé des simulations avec un logiciel plus élaboré. Les résultats obtenus sont similaires à ceux fournis pour cette géométrie par le logiciel de référence.

Book excerpt: Ce travail a pour objectif de mettre en évidence les divergences et similitudes entre les procédés d'injection et de micro-injection; ce dernier se positionnant comme l'un des procédés les plus prometteurs pour la fabrication à grande échelle de micro-composants à base polymère. L'étude bibliographique a notamment permis de montrer que le procédé de micro-injection n'est pas une simple "mise à l'échelle micro" du procédé d'injection; les conséquences de ce procédé en termes de morphologie ou de propriétés des micropièces restent à découvrir. Ainsi, avant de comparer les morphologies et propriétés des pièces mises en œuvre à l'aide de ces deux procédés, la première partie de cette étude a consisté à concevoir puis à fabriquer les pièces de 150microns d'épaisseur, étape réclamant la fabrication d'un moule de dimensions adaptées. Après avoir validé cette phase en termes de capabilité, il a été montré que la morphologie cristalline se développant dans la micropièce n'avait jamais été observée dans la littérature, et a été qualifiée de structure dite "sans cœur". Dans le cas de la pièce traditionnelle (1.5mm d'épaisseur), une morphologie de type "cœur-peau" a été relevée en accord avec la littérature. Afin d'analyser plus finement cette nouvelle structure cristalline, des analyses à une échelle nanoscopique ont été entreprises, à l'aide d'observations par microscopie électronique en transmission (MET) et d'analyses par Diffraction des Rayons X équipée d'un micro-faisceau (Ø20μm). Les observations par MET ont permis de montrer des différences significatives d'orientation des lamelles cristallines entre la pièce classique (orientation aléatoire) et la micropièce où une forte orientation des lamelles a été observée dans le sens perpendiculaire à l'écoulement. Ces résultats ont été interprétés en termes de cristallisation induite lors de l'écoulement, dont l'intensité est nettement supérieure dans le cas de la micropièce. Un tel résultat a été confirmé lors de l'analyse des essais de diffraction des rayons X, où une morphologie majoritairement sphérolitique a été trouvée dans le cas de la pièce classique, alors qu'une morphologie de type "shish-kebab", fortement anisotrope, s'est développée dans la micropièce. Des essais de nanoindentation ont confirmé l'anisotropie de propriétés mécaniques des micropièces, présentant par ailleurs des propriétés amoindries par rapport à celles des pièces traditionnelles. La dernière partie de cette étude s'est focalisée sur les différences existant entre les cinétiques de cristallisation des échantillons recuits micro-injectés et injectés. A partir d'une modélisation des cinétiques de cristallisation à l'aide du modèle de Tobin, il a été montré que ces différences provenaient d'un nombre plus important de germes cristallins présents dans la micropièce, qui subsisteraient même lors de recuits à hautes températures. Finalement, les résultats acquis sur les morphologies se développant dans le cas de ces deux procédés sont repris et discutés de sorte à proposer des voies d'améliorations au procédé de micro-injection.
