Book excerpt: Dès les premiers développements de la théorie de l'attachement, Bowlby (1969/1982) décrivait le sourire d'un bébé et ses vocalisations plaisantes (p. ex. gazouillis, rire) comme des comportements d'attachement. Toutefois, de nos jours, la majorité des auteurs insistent sur le fait que l'enfant s'attache principalement en fonction de la réponse de la figure d'attachement lorsque l'enfant est en détresse (Cassidy & Shaver, 2016; voir Nelson, 2012 pour une critique plus élaborée). La recherche en attachement a donc négligé d'étudier les comportements de demande de proximité dans un contexte positif. C'est plutôt le courant de recherche sur la paternité qui a étudié les comportements amusant et de jeu des parents. Certains auteurs présentent d'ailleurs les pères comme étant de meilleurs partenaires de jeu (p. ex. Paquette, 2004a, 2004b). Toutefois, les évidences empiriques ne permettent pas de conclure que les mères sont moins amusantes. Le présent projet doctoral visait donc à explorer ce que les parents font pour déclencher le rire de leur enfant d'âge préscolaire, comparer les comportements amusants des parents et le rire de l'enfant avec son père et sa mère et déterminer s'il y a des associations avec la qualité de la relation parent-enfant. D'abord, nous avons développé un nouvel instrument de codification permettant d'évaluer les stratégies mises en place par les parents pour amuser leur enfant ainsi que le rire de l'enfant. Une fois l'instrument de Recensement des Interactions amusantes et du Rire de l'Enfant créé (RIRE, Schmiedel & Bureau, 2017), la première étude a permis de valider cet instrument en examinant la structure interne des stratégies parentales ainsi que les propriétés psychométriques telles que l'accord interjuges, la cohérence interne, et la validité convergente. L'objectif de la seconde étude était ensuite d'explorer les stratégies utilisées par chaque parent et leur efficacité à engendrer du rire chez l'enfant. Il était également question d'explorer les liens entre l'instrument de RIRE et la sécurité d'attachement enfant-parent. Dans la première étude, des analyses en composantes principales (ACP) ont révélé des structures différentes pour les mères et les pères, mais qui comprennent toutes deux une composante de Chatouille/anticipation. De plus, le RIRE présente des propriétés psychométriques généralement adéquates. Les résultats de la seconde étude révèlent que la stratégie de Chatouille/anticipation est la plus efficace pour faire rire les enfants d'âge préscolaire, et ce pour les deux parents. De plus, les mères seraient autant capables que les pères de générer des rires authentiques et non-contrôlés chez l'enfant. Quant aux liens avec l'attachement enfant-parent, les stratégies parentales ne sont généralement pas significativement reliées à la sécurité d'attachement, ni pour les pères ni pour les mères. Toutefois, les résultats suggèrent que la sécurité d'attachement serait positivement associée à la présence de rire authentique de l'enfant, mais seulement pour les pères. Ces résultats soulèvent des hypothèses intéressantes quant aux rôles parentaux et aux mécanismes sous-jacents l'établissement d'une relation positive amusante et empreinte de confiance entre le parent et son enfant d'âge préscolaire.

GBV also poses significant costs for the economies of developing countries, including lower worker productivity and incomes, and lower rates of accumulation of human and social capital. The authors examine good practice approaches in justice, health, education, and multisectoral approaches. In each sector, they identify good practices for: (1) law and policies; (2) institutional reforms; (3) community-level interventions; and (4) individual behavior change strategies.
