Book excerpt: Le but de ce travail est l'étude de la structure de l'écoulement tourbillonnaire, induit par la rotation d'une hélice, au sein d'un réacteur torique. Plusieurs méthodes expérimentales ont été utilisées pour caractériser l'hydrodynamique au coeur de l'écoulement et dans la zone pariétale. Pour cela, on a adopté la technique de visualisation laser par chrono graphie qui permet d'avoir une vue d'ensemble de l'écoulement et de mieux suivre les différentes étapes suivies par les particules fluides en circulation. Ensuite, des mesures locales de vitesse longitudinale ont été effectuées en utilisant une méthode électrochimique. Celles-ci sont accompagnées des mesures des gradients pariétaux de vitesse permettant l'étude locale du cisaillement pariétal dans le réacteur torique. Enfin, l'analyse de la turbulence pariétale et celle au cœur de l'écoulement a permis l'établissement de la relation entre les dimensions caractéristiques des structures turbulentes et les paramètres d'agitation.
