Book excerpt: Ce travail concerne, d'une part la mise au point d'une methode de caracterisation en micro-ondes des materiaux supraconducteurs a haute temperature critique (shtc), et d'autre part leur emploi dans la realisation d'oscillateurs micro-ondes quasi-integres. L'impedance de surface des materiaux shtc est un parametre de premiere importance car elle est un indicateur de la qualite du materiau et conditionne les performances des circuits micro-ondes supraconducteurs. Il est donc essentiel de connaitre de parametre. Dans cette optique, nous avons developpe une methode de mesure non-destructrice de la resistance de surface des films shtc permettant des caracterisations de routine de 300k a 78k. Cette methode consiste a remplacer une paroi d'une cavite resonante metallique par l'echantillon supraconducteur a caracteriser, la mesure du coefficient de qualite permet d'aboutir a la resistance de surface. Nous presentons l'etude detaillee de cette methode, les dispositifs de mesure realises, l'application de la methode a la caracterisation de films shtc ainsi que les limites de mesure. La faible resistance de surface des films shtc permet de realiser des resonateurs plaques a tres haut coefficient de qualite, et donc de concevoir des oscillateurs micro-ondes en technologie plaquee a haute purete spectrale. Ainsi nous avons etudie des oscillateurs hybrides shtc/iii-v fonctionnant a 12ghz. Le resonateur ainsi que toutes les lignes du circuit sont gravees sur un film supraconducteur ybacuo. Le transistor de type hemt est transplante sur les lignes supraconductrices afin de realiser un oscillateur quasi-integre.

Book excerpt: L'objectif initial de notre travail consistait à définir les potentialités d'application de films supraconducteurs à haute température critique, lors de la réalisation de dispositifs microondes. Chiffrer l'apport d'un ruban supraconducteur par rapport à une métallisation classique nous impose de prendre en considération les dimensions effectives des rubans. Ce constat nous a amené à développer des méthodes de simulation qui font abstraction de la notion de calcul de perturbation. Deux démarches ont éte retenues : la première repose sur la modification et l'extension de l'approche dans le domaine spectral, la seconde s'appuie sur une formulation par éléments finis. La première partie de ce mémoire rappelle les principales phases de la mise en œuvre de l'approche dans le domaine spectral. Dans cette analyse, la prise en compte simultanée de la conductivité des rubans et de leur épaisseur nécessite l'introduction de la notion d'impédance de surface. Dans le deuxième chapitre, après avoir mis en évidence les insuffisances de logiciels professionnels dès que l'on cherche à quantifier les pertes d'insertion de lignes plaquées, nous proposons une méthode de détermination systématique et fiable de ces pertes, à partir de l'approche dans le domaine spectral, se démarquant des méthodes classiques de perturbation. En premier lieu, nous testons la fiabilité de notre formalisme par rapport aux relevés expérimentaux effectués sur des lignes métalliques classiques. Nous abordons ensuite une étude prospective visant à définir les potentialités d'application des matériaux supraconducteurs lors de la réalisation de circuits passifs, et ce, en considérant des structures microrubans et coplanaires. Afin d'appréhender des structures de topologies plus complexes, pour lesquelles l'approche dans le domaine spectral ne peut apporter que des réponses partielles, nous avons développé et présenté dans la troisième partie une analyse de type éléments finis. Dans la formulation retenue, les six composantes de champ sont approximées, sur un élément, par une interpolation nodale classique. Cette méthode constitue un moyen pour assurer l'élimination des solutions parasites. Les différents tests effectués pour éprouver la fiabilité de notre algorithme sont présentés dans le quatrième chapitre. Procédant par étapes successives, nous avons appliqué ce formalisme à des structures de complexité croissante, pour aboutir finalement à l'analyse du comportement d'un modulateur électrooptique réalisé sur niobate de lithium
