Book Synopsis Emission Control from Industrial Boilers by : John T. Quigley
Download or read book Emission Control from Industrial Boilers written by John T. Quigley and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1994-12-28 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Preface The Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990 significantly affect commercial and industrial combustion devices such as boilers, incinerators, and other burners. Under the new emission regulations already promulgated and those being developed, compliance will require improved equipment, more detailed operator training, new permits, more complex monitoring and reporting, as well as other requirements. All emissions must be considered, e.g., particulates and gases (acid, organic, hazardous, NOx, ozone). Many industrial boiler plants have been retrofitted to change fuel and/or combustion operating conditions as a means to meet new air pollution control requirements. New regulations will continue to be developed by the CAAA of 1990 that will require changes to other boilers and combustion systems. This book is intended to acquaint industry with the equipment and operating options that are available to reduce emissions while controlling costs. Specific topics are addressed, including regulatory requirements, boiler and burner equipment retrofits, combustion modification, air emission control and monitoring equipment selection, maintenance, and cost. The twelve chapters of this book are written by seven different authors. The authors use fifty-two figures and forty-four tables to help explain the written text and to make it more interesting and useful to readers.

Download or read book EPA's Anti-Industrial Policy written by Matt Dempsey and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a print on demand edition of a hard to find publication. This report examined the impacts on jobs and the economy from the EPA¿s greenhouse gas (GG) proposals, as well as three other significant EPA rules. It concludes that these rules threaten the economic viability of America¿s manufacturing base and hundreds of thousands of well-paying jobs. Moreover, these rules will bring little, if any, public health or environ. benefits. As Americans suffer through a jobless recovery, EPA is pursuing policies that exacerbate our economic problems and do not improve the environment. Contents of this report: Intro.; A Note on the Clean Air Act; Findings: Commercial/Industrial Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology; Revised Ozone Standard; Portland Cement Standards; Regulating GG; Conclusion.
