To make the banking function sound and diversify the risk, it is necessary to deal with all kinds of risks related to banking. The future of banking will undoubtedly rest on risk management dynamics. Only those banks that have efficient risk management systems will survive in the market in the long run. The study attempts to analyze the risk management practices of Indian banks (Public and Private Sector) so as to infer the status of risk management in Indian banks. This will help in estimating the strength of Indian banks, their resilience to probable catastrophes, and their preparedness for uncertain events. Based upon the norms declared by the Bank of International Standards, viz., Basel norms, a questionnaire-based survey was performed to gauge the standing of Indian Banks. The primary data required for the proposed study has been gathered with the help of two questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The first questionnaire attempts to explore the perception of employees in the risk management department regarding the risk, risk management practices, and overall risk management philosophy of banks. A total number of 20 banks: 10 Public Sector, 6 Private Sector (New), and 4 Private Sector (Old) Banks have been selected for the study. So, the sample consisted of 100 respondents with 5 employees from each bank. All these respondents belong to the risk management department of the banks under study. The questionnaire is divided into a number of categories that correspond to aspects of the risk management process in Indian banks. The questionnaire includes the following sections: Risk severity, Risk Identification (RI), Risk Assessment & Analysis (RAA), Risk Management Practices (RMP), Risk Monitoring (RM), Mitigation of Risk (MTR), Credit Risk Management (CR), Market Risk Management (MR) and Operational Risk Management (OR). The questionnaire is objective in nature and seeks responses on a seven-point Likert Scale on statements from each section.

In the era of Industry 5.0, technology is getting embedded more and more in the way ‘we learn, live, work and play’. This progression is accelerating at a pace never seen before. Inter disciplinary and collaborative research across disciplines within the Technology domain and Management domain, and across the Technology — Management interface is opening up exciting new possibilities for solving problems whose solutions are beyond the scope of a single discipline, domain or practice, and helping to create a brave, new world. We are living in an incredible time of change. Our effort to hold such an interdisciplinary conference, in the virtual mode, apparently resonated across the academic community, as was evident from the huge response that the first ever conference on “Interdisciplinary Research in Technology and Management”, (IRTM) held in February 2021 had received from participants across many countries. This has encouraged the organizers to hold the next edition of the conference physically in Kolkata on a larger scale in the online mode. The pandemic unleashed by Covid 19 in the last two years has shaken the socio-economic foundations of countries and societies to a point where the world cannot be the same as before the pandemic. It has re-focused the world’s attention on the priority of healthcare, and healthcare infrastructure and its innovative management. Inevitably, questions have again been raised more vehemently on what kind of a world we want to live in. Environmental concerns are being pursued with renewed vigour, The urgency of developing new, robust infrastructure relevant for the new world is gaining wider consensus. By 2030, as reports suggest, cyber – physical systems, internet of things and wearable technology will be everywhere and in everything, renewable energy will power the world, and digital entertainment will take centre stage among other developments. The third edition of the conference on “Interdisciplinary Research in Technology and Management” attempts to spotlight the above concerns. The number of tracks on which papers are invited from scholars, researchers, consultants and practitioners to share their interdisciplinary research and consultative work has been enlarged. As before, the papers will be peer reviewed and authors of the selected papers will be invited to present their papers in the IRTM conference. The presentation of papers will be interspersed with Keynote Talks by eminent experts on the theme of the conference or individual domains.

A number of new technologies have come together to enable its vision. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headsets have become cheaper and more powerful improving the user experience. Blockchain has enabled digital currencies and NFTs. The new methods to transact and own digital goods are allowing creators to monetize their activities through tokens. In addition to monetization, and as a means to exchange value, token-holders can also participate in the platform’s governance (e.g., vote on decisions). This democratic ownership economy coupled with the possibility of interoperability could unlock immense economic opportunities whereby digital goods and services are no longer captive to a singular gaming platform or brand. As the world steps into the metaverse, it is imperative to spark conversations with all objects and those interacting within the next dimension. Applying Metalytics to Measure Customer Experience in the Metaverse introduces metalytics, a new perspective on analytics for the new dimension of spatial and immersive Web 3.0. It presents the new conversations in the elements of a new digital age converging at a large scale. Covering topics such as big data analytics, financial services, and network analysis, this premier reference source is an essential resource for business leaders and executives, IT managers, entrepreneurs, financial specialists, consultants, statisticians, marketers, government officials, students and educators of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians.

This book was released on 2015-01-01 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an outcome of banking activities regarding analyzing the implications that new forms of work organization have for the different aspects of conditions of employment such as hours of work, the intensification of workand health at the workplace, pay systems, security of employment, work andfamily, and social dialogue. The organization of work has great implications forthe quality of work life, and this is clearly demonstrated by the on-going studyon changes in work organization in the direction of greater flexibility and theirpotential and actual effects on employees. While it is widely assumed thatflexible forms of work organization can have desirable influences on both, the banks and its employees, these outcomes are often not realized in practice. Evenwhen a new form of work organization results in positive outcomes, overall, Thegain is not always shared by all the participants involved : in many cases, someworkers benefit from the change but others do not. Thus, changes in workorganization i.e. implementing quality of work life programmes should be approached from the perspective of employees as well as employers, in order toallow their social implications to be fully explored.

Book excerpt: Risks can be identified, evaluated, and mitigated, but the underlying uncertainty remains elusive. Risk is present across all industries and sectors. As a result, organizations and governments worldwide are currently experiencing higher levels of risk and have had to make risky decisions during times of crisis and instability, including the COVID-19 pandemic, economic and climate perils, and global tensions surrounding terrorism. It is essential that new studies are undertaken to understand strategies taken during these times to better equip business leaders to navigate risk management in the future. Global Risk and Contingency Management Research in Times of Crisis examines the impact of crises including the COVID-19 pandemic, which has tested organizational risk and contingency management plans. It provides significant insights that should benefit business leaders on risk and contingency management in times of crisis. It emphasizes strategies that leaders can undertake to identify potential future risks and examines decisions made in past crises that can act as examples of what to do and what not to do during future crisis events. Covering topics such as auditing theories, risk assessment, and educational inequality, this premier reference source is a crucial resource for business leaders, executives, managers, decision makers, policymakers, students, government officials, entrepreneurs, librarians, researchers, and academicians.
