Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My Emotions Journal Log Book For Kids & Teens- 6 x 9 inch journal, with over 100 pages to work with. Help Children And Tweens Express Their Feelings - Reduce Anxiety, Anger & Frustration and share their feelings. This beautifully designed journal is ideal for both elementary age, up to the early teen years. Your child will be able to think about how they feel each day and also have the opportunity to share those feelings with you, or somebody else that they feel comfortable with. Each day has two pages to work with. On the first page.... You're asked to identify your key emotion for the day by circling the most relevant emoji. However, there is also a space for your child to draw their OWN one too, which gives them more creative freedom. There's then a space to doodle/draw or stick something related to how their feeling. An additional small place to write about how they feel, (if they want to... no pressure!). On the second page.... You're asked to write down three good things about your day. This will help the child focus on the positive aspects that they can take from every single day, no matter how they feel. You're asked to write down something or someone that helped you during the day. You're asked to write about something you'd like to improve on tomorrow. Lastly, you're asked if there is someone you'd like to share your feelings with.... Whether it be via writing, drawing or just talking! Each day there is also the opportunity to write a letter or draw a picture to the person you'd like to share your feelings with. There is a template to use and you're actually able to tear this out of the page if you'd like to. Alternatively, this space could be a place for the child to simply write to themselves about how they're feeling and this can be soothing it itself, without necessarily sharing it with anyone. Whatever the child would like to do, the option is there. This emotion tracking journal can be used every day, or simply when the child needs it the most, or is having a particularly challenging day. Not only would this make a great gift for a child, to give them the opportunity to track how they feel each day and improve their overall mood and sense of well-being.... This could also make an excellent tool for teachers to have in school, particularly for children who struggle to understand their feelings. Likewise, this could be something that school therapists can use, to encourage their students to communicate their feelings to others and acknowledge their emotions. This emotion tracking diary would be particularly beneficial for children who would benefit from identifying and acknowledging their feelings regularly - such as those with conditions such as; an Autism spectrum condition, ADHD, an Anxiety disorder, Depression & Mood disorders.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes a multidisciplinary approach to emotion, with contributions from biologists, psychologists, neuroscientists, robot engineers, and artists. A wide range of emotional phenomena is discussed, including the notion that humans’ sophisticated sensibility, as evidenced by our aesthetic appreciation of the arts, is based at least in part on a basic emotional sensibility that is found in young children and perhaps even some non-human animal species. As a result, this book comprises a unique comparative perspective on the study of emotion. A number of chapters consider emotions in a variety of animal groups, including fish, birds, and mammals. Other chapters expand the scope of the book to humans and robots. Specific topics covered in these chapters run the gamut from lower-level emotional activity, such as emotional expression, to higher-level emotional activity, such as altruism, love, and aesthetics. Taken as a whole, the book presents manifold perspectives on emotion and provides a solid foundation for future multidisciplinary research on the nature of emotions.

Book excerpt: This first monograph of its kind introduces the reader to fundamental definitions, key concepts and case studies addressing the following issues of rapidly growing relevance for online communities: What are emotions? How do they emerge, how are they transmitted? How can one measure emotional states? What are cyberemotions? When do emotions and cyberemotions become collective phenomena? How can one model emotions and their changes? What role do emotions play for on-line communities? Edited and authored by leading scientists in this field, this book is a comprehensive reference for anyone working on applications of complex systems methods in the social sciences, as well as for social scientists, psychologists, experts in on-line communities and computer scientists. This book provides an excellent overview of the current state-of-art in research on collective emotional interactions mediated by the Internet. It introduces a reader in social phenomena occurring in cyberspace, algorithms needed for automatic sentiment detection and data driven modeling of emotional patterns observed in on-line groups. Eugene Stanley, Professor, Boston UniversityWith the explosive hyper-exponential growth of the internet suddenly new ways of communication are emerging that give rise to a digital 'Homo empathicus', each of us suddenly being able to share thoughts and feelings with millions if not billions of others. This book is a true treat, a timely milestone that gives us insight in the co-evolution of the way we interact with each other and the communication technology provided through this new seemingly endless flexible digital world. Prof. Holyst did a great job bringing together real experts in the field of cyber emotions. Peter M.A. Sloot, Professor, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Nanyang University, Singapore The book Cyberemotions embraces the topic of emotion studies in cyberspace from a very rich spectrum of points of view and applications. It is particularly interesting reading the theoretical foundations underlying the concepts of cyberemotions and how these concepts can be captured, modeled and implemented in real-time applications. Catherine Pelachaud, Director of Research CNRS at LTCI, TELECOM ParisTechLogical machines give us a chance to analyze our often illogical behaviors, especially in the vast meadows of the cyberspace. In this important book, authors of different backgrounds present a wide and deep image, not only of methods of analyzing our emotional behavior online but also how the computers can help to break communicational walls the same technology had built. Rafal Rzepka, Professor, Hokkaido University

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book explores the emotional labour of crisis reporters in an original style that combines fictional and factual narrative. Exploring how journalists make sense of their emotional experience and development in relation to their professional ideology, it illustrates how media professionals learn to think and act within crisis situations. Drawing on in-depth interviews with journalists reporting on wars, terror attacks and natural disasters, the book rethinks traditional concepts in journalistic thought. Finally, it reflects on the specific, contemporary vulnerabilities of industry professionals, including the impact of new technologies, specific forms of precarity, and a particular strain of cynicism central to the industry. Combining comprehensive, empirical research with the fictional narrative of a journalist protagonist, Crisis Reporters, Emotions and Technology establishes an innovative approach to academic storytelling.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores emotional-affective implications of partnership and rivalry in Turkey-Iran relations. The main proposition of this research underlines the theoretical need to reconnect psycho-social conceptualizations of “emotionality,” “affectivity,” “normativity,” and “relationality.” By combining key theoretical findings, the book offers a holistic conceptual framework to better analyze emotional-affective configuration of relational rules and roles in trans-governmental neighborhood interactions. The empirical chapters look at four consecutive periods extending from the end of First World War (November 1918) to the resuscitation of US sanctions against Iran (November 2018). In each episode, global-regional contours and dyadic dynamics of Ankara-Tehran relationship are examined critically. The century-long history of emotional entanglements and affective arrangements exposes complex patterning of “feeling rules.” Two countervailing constellations still reign over relational narratives. While the 1514 Çaldıran war myth reproduces sectarian resentment and confrontational climate, the 1639 Kasr-ı Şirin peace story reconstructs secular sympathy and collaborative atmosphere in Turkish-Iranian affairs.
