Book Synopsis Electromagnetic Fields and Waves by : Eugene I. Nefyodov
Download or read book Electromagnetic Fields and Waves written by Eugene I. Nefyodov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-27 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook is intended for a course in electromagnetism for upper undergraduate and graduate students. The main concepts and laws of classical macroscopic electrodynamics and initial information about generalized laws of modern electromagnetics are discussed, explaining some paradoxes of the modern theory. The reader then gets acquainted with electrodynamics methods of field analysis on the basis of wave equation solution. Emission physics are considered using an example of the Huygens-Fresnel-Kirchhoff canonic principle. The representation about strict electrodynamics task statement on the base of Maxwell equations, boundary conditions, emission conditions and the condition on the edge is given. Different classes of approximate boundary conditions are presented, which essentially simplify understanding of process physics. The canonic Fresnel functions are given and their generalization on the case of anisotropic impedance. The free waves in closed waveguides and in strip-slotted and edge-dielectric transmission lines are described. A large number of Mathcad programs for illustration of field patterns and its properties in different guiding structures are provided. The material is organized for self-study as well as classroom use.

Book Synopsis Electromagnetic Processes At High Energies In Oriented Single Crystals by : Vladimir N Baier
Download or read book Electromagnetic Processes At High Energies In Oriented Single Crystals written by Vladimir N Baier and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1998-06-06 with total page 569 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is devoted to processes at the interaction of high energy charged particles and photons with crystals. Among them are the creation of electron-positron pair by photon in crystalline field, the radiation of particles in this field and, connected with these effects, the new type of electromagnetic showers in crystals, the channeling of fast particles in crystal and channeling radiation. At high energies, the processes of quantum electrodynamics (QED) in intense external fields play an important role in crystals. The first third of the book contains a new formulation of QED in external fields which is valid for any external field, including an essentially nonuniform one and has vast applications.

Book Synopsis Introduction to Controlled-Source Electromagnetic Methods by : Anton Ziolkowski
Download or read book Introduction to Controlled-Source Electromagnetic Methods written by Anton Ziolkowski and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2019-03-07 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume describes how controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) methods are used to determine the electrical conductivity and hydrocarbon content of the upper few kilometres of the Earth, on land and at sea. The authors show how the signal-to-noise ratio of the measured data may be maximised via suitable choice of acquisition and processing parameters and selection of subsequent data analysis procedures. Complete impulse responses for every electric and magnetic source and receiver configuration are derived, providing a guide to the expected response for real data. 1-D, 2-D and 3-D modelling and inversion procedures for recovery of Earth conductivity are presented, emphasising the importance of updating model parameters using complementary geophysical data and rock physics relations. Requiring no specialist prior knowledge of electromagnetic theory, and providing a step-by-step guide through the necessary mathematics, this book provides an accessible introduction for advanced students, researchers and industry practitioners in exploration geoscience and petroleum engineering.
