Book excerpt: Para analisar o efeito de diferentes sistemas de manejo denominados plantio direto sequeiro, plantio direto irrigado e plantio convencional sobre os atributos fisicos de um Latossolo Vermeljo-Amarelo textura argilosa localizado no municipio de Lavras-MG (7652.710 e 0491240 UTM), foram coletadas amostras em cinco profundidas (0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30 e 30-40 cm), nas quais realizaram-se analises de textura e argila dispersa em agua, densidade de particulas, densidade do solo, permeabilidade do solo, porosidade total, macroporosidade e microporosidade, estabilidade de agregados em agua, retencao de agua e teores de mateira organica. Os resultados apresentados mostraram que os sistemas de manejo alteram os atributos fisicos do solo, com excecao da porosidade total, microporosidade e densidade de particulas, verificadas principalmente pelas correlacoes significativas com a materia organica, indice de agregacao, macroporosidade e nao houve diferencas em relacao a densidade do solo, argila dispersa em agua, porosidade total e retencao de agua quando comparados com o plantio convencional. Em relacao a condicao natural de ocorrencia do Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo, os sistemas envolvendo plantio direto contribuiram negativamente para os atributos fisicos, principalmente na camada de 0-5cm.
