Download or read book Electroweak Symmetry Breaking by Strong Dynamics and the Collider Phenomenology written by and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We discuss the possible signatures in the electroweak symmetry breaking sector by new strong dynamics at future hadron colliders such as the Tevatron upgrade, the LHC and VLHC, and ee− linear colliders. Examples include a heavy Higgs-like scalar resonance, a heavy Technicolor-like vector resonance and pseudo-Goldstone states, non-resonance signatures via enhanced gauge-boson scattering and fermion compositeness.
Book Synopsis Top Quark Physics at Hadron Colliders by : Arnulf Quadt
Download or read book Top Quark Physics at Hadron Colliders written by Arnulf Quadt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-08-16 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This will be a required acquisition text for academic libraries. More than ten years after its discovery, still relatively little is known about the top quark, the heaviest known elementary particle. This extensive survey summarizes and reviews top-quark physics based on the precision measurements at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, as well as examining in detail the sensitivity of these experiments to new physics. Finally, the author provides an overview of top quark physics at the Large Hadron Collider.
Book Synopsis Higgs Puzzle, The: What Can We Learn From Lep2, Lhc, Nlc, And Fmc? - Proceedings Of The 1996 Ringberg Workshop by : Bernd A Kniehl
Download or read book Higgs Puzzle, The: What Can We Learn From Lep2, Lhc, Nlc, And Fmc? - Proceedings Of The 1996 Ringberg Workshop written by Bernd A Kniehl and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-07-15 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the great success of the standard model of electroweak and strong interactions to describe the phenomena observed in high energy physics experiments, the mechanism by which the elementary particles are endowed with their masses is yet to be unraveled. Does nature choose the Higgs mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking as predicted by the standard model, or do we need some alternative explanation? The purpose of the workshop is to capture new trends and ideas in this exciting area of fundamental physics, and to explore the potential of recent (LEPI), present (HERA, LEPII, SLC, Tevatron), and future (FMC, LHC, NLC) colliding-beam experiments to shed light on the Higgs puzzle.

Download or read book Discovering New Interactions at Colliders written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We summarize results of the 1996 Snowmass workshop on future prospects for discovering dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking, compositeness, and anomalous couplings of quarks at colliders. We present the mass reach of the Tevatron to a color singlet or octet technirho, and to a topgluon or topcolor Z' from topcolor assisted technicolor. We explore the sensitivity of the Tevatron, LHC, NLC and VLHC to contact interactions and excited fermions. Finally we investigate the possibility of seeing anomalous couplings of quarks at the Tevatron and LHC.
