Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DUI is a must-read for all of those who desire to be equipped to have victory in the war of deception that the Devil has waged against the saints. One of the grave mistakes that the modern church has made is that of minimizing the Enemy. He is a formidable opponent that we within ourselves have no chance of defeating. The reason why many saints are being defeated by the Enemy is because the body of Christ is having such a difficult time recognizing the Devil. The Bible says that he would deceive not just the world, but even the very elect, if it were at all possible. DUI exposes how the Enemy uses worship to get believers intoxicated with the world. This book systematically breaks down the difference between worship in the Spirit, which cleanses us, and Babylonian worship, which entertains us. It dissects the biblical foundations of worship and how the Enemy is attempting to change those foundations. You may have wondered how you could be a part of worship experiences that deeply affected you emotionally although many of the other participants left these experiences yet dominated by their flesh, spiritually blind, and carnally minded. This book has the answers! It is a must-read for all of those desiring to worship God in Spirit and truth and be found faithful when he returns!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many of us struggle to learn who we are and find our purpose, despite life's many obstacles. For author Rick Caudill, the struggle began early with a childhood in poverty raised by abusive, alcoholic parents. When his parents abandon him and his seven-year-old brother, he is determined to improve their lives and build a life for himself. He joins the US Medical Service Corps and later becomes a highly successful oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a blind and deaf daughter flourishing in her education. But the human condition is fragile. Suffering from an infectious disease he contracts from a patient, and already diagnosed with mental illnesses, Caudill begins to self-medicate his depression with alcohol and illicit drugs. Derailed by mental illness, substance abuse, and addiction, he loses everything he worked for -- including his freedom and his family. In this heroically candid memoir, Caudill takes responsibility for his poor decisions, details the plight of having a brain chemical imbalance while navigating the bureaucracy of prison, reveals injustices within the Pima County Criminal Justice System and the Arizona Medical Society, and explains the healing power of surrendering one's life to Jesus Christ and embracing His redemptive power. Choices Change Destiny details the rise, fall, and resurrection of a man who undergoes some of life's hardest trials and tribulations but comes out on the other side a better and fully recovered person. Ultimately, it is a story of hope that will resonate with readers of any background.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twisted Lies is a book about real life. Im sure that if you read it, you will find that my story is not that much different from most. By no means do I consider myself unique in anyway. Oh what web we weave, when at first we do deceive. The truth is Ive been locked up most of my life. Bars and walls may confine my body but freedom is a state of mind. What you believe yourself to be is who, and what you become. As a Man Thinketh, so is he. We believe what people tell us at a very young age, because we trust so easily. But know this one thing; what you say can affect someones life for the rest of their life. Things like youre stupid, you aint shit and youll never amount to anything. Your dad or your mother aint shit. Be careful when you plant your seeds, and please leave them room, room enough to breathe. Most time in life when a child is born, two people consent to making thereof. What a beautiful blessing it is to bring life into this world. And though sometime things dont always turn out just the way we would like them to, every parent deserves a chance to fill their role. Once you take a child from a parent and deny that child the right to know either one, or the other. If that person has not brought harm to that child nor poses a threat. Then you have stolen away something that you can never replace. God placed a seed in me allowing me to pass it on to you, now you and I, the two of us have a child. Its a beautiful thing.

Why, since the 1990s, has Beijing been feverishly developing means to prevail in combat with the U.S. over Taiwan's status? Why is Taiwan worth fighting for? To answer, this book focuses on the territorial dimension of the Taiwan issue and highlights arguments made by PRC analysts about the geostrategic significance of Taiwan, rather than emphasizing the political dispute between Beijing and Taipei. It considers Beijing's quest for Taiwan since 1949 against the backdrop of recurring Chinese anxieties about the island's status since the seventeenth century.

In this journey that we call life, we exhibit so many different emotions and it is those emotions that shape who we are today. With this piece of work, I wanted to put it all out there and take the reader through my emotional journey. I wanted people to see, hear, taste, smell, what I did, and show it from a gay, black mans perspective.

This book was released on 2019-10-31 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Among twentieth-century Confucians, Xu Fuguan (1904–1982) remains preeminent. This volume, written by Chun-chieh Huang, an authority on Xu’s life and thought, offers English-speaking readers for the first time an exhaustive analysis of the philosopher’s original ideas and research. A distinguished member of the group of Contemporary New Confucians, Xu made a significant contribution to the revival of Chinese culture and society, and the present book outlines the specific features of his legacy in comparison with the views of some of his influential Chinese and Japanese contemporaries. The topics covered illustrate an overarching idea, namely, the innovative way in which Xu Fuguan answers a major question concerning Chinese culture, one posed by Chinese intellectuals since the May Fourth Movement: how best to approach the modernization of China. Xu’s work is based on the assumption that Confucian thought and ethics—the core of Chinese tradition—can be modernized because “there is nothing in it which is not compatible with the idea of human dignity or rights in modern society.” Xu addresses the question of China’s modernization by offering arguments in favor of building a connection between Confucianism and democracy, mainly its political dimension. Huang places his subject in the vast context of twentieth-century Chinese Confucian studies and the history of East Asian thought. He compares Xu Fuguan with his most influential opponents Hu Shi (1891–1962) and Fu Sinian (1896–1950) as well as fellow Confucians Tang Junyi (1909–1978) and Mou Zongsan (1909–1995). Huang draws further comparisons between Xu’s thought and that of Japanese Enlightenment philosopher Fukuzawa Yukichi (1835–1901) and the father of contemporary Japanese capitalism, Shibusawa Eiichi (1840–1931). These contrasts highlight the “Chineseness” of Xu’s theories and the marks left by traditional Chinese thought and culture on his writing and life in the countryside, where he spent much of his youth.
