Her heart drummed in her ears. Her chin quivering and her body trembling. A jolt of electrifying jolts ran down her body as his lips gave soft feathery kisses on her neck. She was a nervous mush in his arms. "Sweet," He rasped in his deep baritone voice. She stiffened, even more, when his nose caressed her jawline and he inhaled her scent. She was squished against his hard muscular chest and all she could feel and inhale was him. His big veiny hands, his muscular steel-like arms around her waist, and his sinful lips. "Your scent...mhmm... so f*cking addicting," a growl reverberated from his chest. "S...stop," She stuttered. "Shss..." The rough pad of his thumb caressed her lips.

Book excerpt: Draken vae Khellian, bastard cousin of the Monoean King, had risen far from his ignominious origins, becoming both a Bowrank Commander and a member of the Crown’s Black Guard. But when cursed black magic took his wife and his honor away, he fought past his own despair and grief, and carved out a new life in Akrasia. His bloody, unlikely path, chronicled in Exile: The First Book of the Seven Eyes, led him to a new love, and a throne. Draken has seen too much blood . . . the blood of friends and of enemies alike. Peace is what he wants. Now he must leave his wife and newborn child in an attempt to forge an uneasy peace between the Monoean King and the kingdom of Akrasia. The long bloody shadow of Akrasia’s violent past hangs over his efforts like a shroud. But there are other forces at work. Peace is not something everybody wants . . . not even in the seemingly straightforward kingdom of Draken’s birth. Factions both known and unknown to Draken vie to undermine his efforts and throw the kingdom into civil war. Forces from his days in the Black Guard prove to be the most enigmatic, and a bloody tide threatens to engulf Draken’s every step.

This book was released on 2018-08-14 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Customs of Old England by F. J. (Frederick John) Snell The aim of the present volume is to deal with Old English Customs, not so much in their picturesque aspect-though that element is not wholly wanting-as in their fundamental relations to the organized life of the Middle Ages. Partly for that reason and partly because the work is comparatively small, it embraces only such usages as are of national (and, in some cases, international) significance. The writer is much too modest to put it forth as a scientific exposition of the basic principles of mediæval civilization. He is well aware that a book designed on this unassuming scale must be more or less eclectic. He is conscious of manifold gaps-valde deflenda. And yet, despite omissions, it is hoped that the reader may rise from its perusal with somewhat clearer conceptions of the world as it appeared to the average educated Englishman of the Middle Ages. This suggests the remark that the reader specially in view is the average educated Englishman of the twentieth century, who has not perhaps forgotten his Latin, for Latin has a way of sticking, while Greek, unless cherished, drops away from a man. The materials of which the work is composed have been culled from a great variety of sources, and the writer almost despairs of making adequate acknowledgments. For years past admirable articles cognate to the study of mediæval relationships have been published from time to time in learned periodicals like "Archæologia," the "Archæological Journal," the "Antiquary," etc., where, being sandwiched between others of another character, they have been lost to all but antiquarian experts of omnivorous appetite. Assuredly, the average educated Englishman will not go in quest of them, but it may be thought he will esteem the opportunity, here offered, of gaining enlightenment, if not in the full and perfect sense which might have been possible, had life been less brief and art not quite so long. The same observation applies to books, with this difference that, whereas in articles information is usually compacted, in some books at least it has to be picked out from amidst a mass of irrelevant particulars without any help from indices. If the writer has at all succeeded in performing his office-which is to do for the reader what, under other circumstances, he might have done for himself-many weary hours will not have been spent in vain, and the weariest are probably those devoted to the construction of an index, with which this book, whatever its merits or defects, does not go unprovided. We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. The aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature, and our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. The contents of the vast majority of titles in the Classic Library have been scanned from the original works. Our philosophy has been guided by a desire to provide the reader with a book that is as close as possible to ownership of the original work. When I was a young lad still in high school the work of the classic poets captivated me. I was hooked. All of those poems, as I recall, flowed melodically, and part of the reason was because of their entrancing rhyming. In later years, I found myself becoming disturbed by poems that seemed so disjointed and seemed to roam all over the place. They didn't rhyme, and, to me at least, they were a bore. Thus, my title, IT'S TIME FOR A RHYME.

He was widely reputed to be defender of the innocent and protector of the rights of the guilty. The rightly and wrongly accused wanted him in their corner. But his marriage was imploding. He would stop at nothing to remain in his young daughter’s life, even if it meant giving in to his estranged wife’s whims and demands. While balancing the highs of his professional life with the lows of his personal life, he took on the most important and challenging client of his career—himself. Annoying acts of vandalism quickly escalated to attempts on his life. Searching for the person who wanted him dead, he found himself accused of a horrific crime that could send him to prison for the rest of his life. Who would defend the defender? Certain Truths is a compelling story of one man’s struggle to deal with exaggerations, distortions, and lies and his search for the peace that comes with living with the truth...no matter how ugly it is. “Stephanie Wyler’s ability to take the reader inside the personal and professional life of a criminal defense attorney will send you on a journey of unexpected twists and turns. Each page draws the reader in as the story begs the question: what are certain truths?” Sandy Phillips Kirkham, author of “Let Me Prey Upon You - Breaking Free from a Minister’s Sexual Abuse"

This book was released on 2022-01-25 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is not a professionally written cookbook, but is a representation of homegrown family cooking. Minus a few corporate inspired recipes and one professional carrot cake recipe, My Little Book of Kitchen Recipes is a collection of hand-me-down family recipes from one generation to the next. The design of this book has been left plain, because in the author’s opinion, too many illustrations cause distractions in the kitchen. It is his hope that, by providing the space to enter a recipe or alter an existing one, more people will take up cooking again and continue to pass these and other recipes on to future generation.
