Book Synopsis Daily Motivational Quotes–If misery loves company, than motivation breeds success! by : Susan A. Enns
Download or read book Daily Motivational Quotes–If misery loves company, than motivation breeds success! written by Susan A. Enns and published by B2B Sales Connections Inc.. This book was released on 2010-12-13 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a collection of my favorite motivational quotes all in one place! Some are sales related, some are business related, but most are simply life related. They are in no particular order, just a random thought for each day of the year to help keep you on a positive note. If the old saying “misery loves company” is true, then motivation must breed happiness! I have spent my entire career, in one form or another, in sales. As such, I have dealt with rejection almost every day of my working life. Don’t get me wrong, I have had a very successful career, but no sales person hears "yes" all the time. In fact, it is just the opposite. We hear "no" many more times than we hear yes. In sales, rejection is just something we deal with every day. When we let it get us down, it shows to everyone we meet, including our customers, our colleagues and our family. Essentially, our negative attitude becomes our worst enemy. Even if you are not is sales, if you let your negative thoughts get the best of you, you are your own worst enemy too. Given my profession, I have been asked many times how do I stay positive? It can’t be easy to keep the right attitude when you have to deal with rejection every day, right? Yes, actually, it can be. I stay positive because I choose to stay positive. I actually make a conscious effort to not be negative and to only be positive. I discovered long ago that a motivational quote always puts me in the right frame of mind. I started searching the internet for a daily quote that made me smile or motivated me in some way. Each day I did this, I found that I became better mentally prepared to tackle the day. More importantly, I was just happier! I started to share what I found online. I would put a daily motivational quote in my Facebook and LinkedIn statuses, I would blog about them, and I would tweet them on Twitter. Friends, family, and business associates all enjoyed them so much they started calling me "The Quote Lady." More importantly, everyone’s positive attitude seemed to be contagious. The more the motivation spread, the more everyone became motivated! That’s when I decided to pull together a collection of my favorite motivational quotes all in one place, and this eBook was created. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Remember, your thoughts control your outcomes and you control your thoughts. So choose wisely! "Thank you for your everyday contribution to our success!" "It is really amazing for what you are doing in helping others stay positive and overcome their challenges, whatsoever small or big they may be" "Susan inspires me to "do better" and help others." "Like it...Very Motivating"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A happy love-life happens, but only to those who work well at what they know about it. Knowledge is like a KEY, found only when sought. And it doesn't serve its purpose just by holding it in your hand. It does when you walk up to a door and use it. This book gives a practical paradigm about the potholes on our journey through relationships and marriages; knowing the WHAT and the WHY, understanding the HOW, and leaving you with the choice of WHERE and WHEN. As over 60%% of the challenges we face are directly or indirectly connected to our relationships with people around us, the author seeks to reach his readers and get the best out of his readers through this book. So when we all get our relationships right, we sign-up for a better life. Relationships can be heaven on earth. It is POSSIBLE. We can make it happen.
Download or read book Kiss the Wave written by Dave Furman and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2018-01-16 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages." What does it mean to "kiss the wave?" These words, attributed to nineteenth-century British preacher Charles Spurgeon, speak to the Christian's only hope for perseverance in suffering. What if we can learn to experience the nearness of God in the midst of suffering? What if God intends to work through our trials rather than simply take them away? After living for more than a decade with a debilitating nerve condition in both arms, Dave Furman shows us that God, in his grace, always designs trials for our good—not minimizing the pain, but infusing significance into our suffering. Furman demonstrates that, even when tossed to and fro by stormy waves, God is near . . . and that makes all the difference in the world.
Book Synopsis Broken-But Not Destroyed by : S. Miriam Clifford
Download or read book Broken-But Not Destroyed written by S. Miriam Clifford and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2009-08 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Author had entered into this life by rape of a woman without being asked to be born, without having made any effort to get here. A newborn does not know she is alive. There is no realization factor; for the infant is, as if it was, unconscious. An irresistible instinct impels her as she becomes a woman; her life takes a deep plunge felt by the indifferent blows of tragedy, such as dying at a young age, starvation, physical and emotional abuse, financial ruin, automobile accident, divorce and homelessness and the list goes through many situations. Each predicament centers on the story of someone who came into her life. ¬ e fabric of our lives is the sum total of all our experiences. ¬ Thinking back to what shaped the Author, provides a revealing perspective. She did not write these thoughts from a palace. Miriam wrote them while she was going through the roughest times in her life; in journals, on napkins, and on cardboard, on the streets of emptiness. An Atheist meets her Maker - Jesus - again, this time in the dark alley in New York City. ¬ The journey of forgiveness, redemption, healing and restoration provides powerful insight why each person is obliged, in spite of self to investigate on their journey that the human thought is related to the principle reason that nothing is without cause. ¬ ere one discovers that their life is mapped out for a purpose, an assignment, leading into destiny. Her life changes 360 degree as she starts reflecting on her life which propels her into a voyage of the true-self discovery, finding and then knowing the source of life is God. Life is not about finding yourself; it is about discovering who God created you to be.

Book Synopsis The Beginning of Wisdom by : Leon Kass
Download or read book The Beginning of Wisdom written by Leon Kass and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2003-05-20 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine that you could really understand the Bible...that you could read, analyze, and discuss the book of Genesis not as a compositional mystery, a cultural relic, or a linguistic puzzle palace, or even as religious doctrine, but as a philosophical classic, precisely in the same way that a truth-seeking reader would study Plato or Nietzsche. Imagine that you could be led in your study by one of America's preeminent intellectuals and that he would help you to an understanding of the book that is deeper than you'd ever dreamed possible, that he would reveal line by line, verse by verse the incredible riches of this illuminating text -- one of the very few that actually deserve to be called seminal. Imagine that you could get, from Genesis, the beginning of wisdom. The Beginning of Wisdom is a hugely learned book that, like Genesis itself, falls naturally into two sections. The first shows how the universal history described in the first eleven chapters of Genesis, from creation to the tower of Babel, conveys, in the words of Leon Kass, "a coherent anthropology" -- a general teaching about human nature -- that "rivals anything produced by the great philosophers." Serving also as a mirror for the reader's self-discovery, these stories offer profound insights into the problematic character of human reason, speech, freedom, sexual desire, the love of the beautiful, pride, shame, anger, guilt, and death. Something as seemingly innocuous as the monotonous recounting of the ten generations from Adam to Noah yields a powerful lesson in the way in which humanity encounters its own mortality. In the story of the tower of Babel are deep understandings of the ambiguous power of speech, reason, and the arts; the hazards of unity and aloneness; the meaning of the city and its quest for self-sufficiency; and man's desire for fame, immortality, and apotheosis -- and the disasters these necessarily cause. Against this background of human failure, Part Two of The Beginning of Wisdom explores the struggles to launch a new human way, informed by the special Abrahamic covenant with the divine, that might address the problems and avoid the disasters of humankind's natural propensities. Close, eloquent, and brilliant readings of the lives and educations of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jacob's sons reveal eternal wisdom about marriage, parenting, brotherhood, education, justice, political and moral leadership, and of course the ultimate question: How to live a good life? Connecting the two "parts" is the book's overarching philosophical and pedagogical structure: how understanding the dangers and accepting the limits of human powers can open the door to a superior way of life, not only for a solitary man of virtue but for an entire community -- a life devoted to righteousness and holiness. This extraordinary book finally shows Genesis as a coherent whole, beginning with the creation of the natural world and ending with the creation of a nation that hearkens to the awe-inspiring summons to godliness. A unique and ambitious commentary, a remarkably readable literary exegesis and philosophical companion, The Beginning of Wisdom is one of the most important books in decades on perhaps the most important -- and surely the most frequently read -- book of all time.
Download or read book Vesper Flights written by Helen Macdonald and published by Grove Press. This book was released on 2020-08-25 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New York Times–bestselling author of H is for Hawk explores the human relationship to the natural world in this “dazzling” essay collection (Wall Street Journal). In Vesper Flights, Helen Macdonald brings together a collection of her best loved essays, along with new pieces on topics ranging from nostalgia for a vanishing countryside to the tribulations of farming ostriches to her own private vespers while trying to fall asleep. Meditating on notions of captivity and freedom, immigration and flight, Helen invites us into her most intimate experiences: observing the massive migration of songbirds from the top of the Empire State Building, watching tens of thousands of cranes in Hungary, seeking the last golden orioles in Suffolk’s poplar forests. She writes with heart-tugging clarity about wild boar, swifts, mushroom hunting, migraines, the strangeness of birds’ nests, and the unexpected guidance and comfort we find when watching wildlife.

Book Synopsis Passage Meditation by : Eknath Easwaran
Download or read book Passage Meditation written by Eknath Easwaran and published by ReadHowYouWant.com. This book was released on 2010-09 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pioneered by spiritual master Eknath Easwaran, passage meditation consists of memorizing an inspirational spiritual passage and then sending it deep into consciousness through slow, sustained attention. It keeps meditation fresh and varied because readers can select the passages - from one tradition or many - that embody their chosen ideals. Many readers also enjoy the passages for their poetic and intellectual appeal. This form of meditation offers all the richness and depth of traditional wisdom, together with a practical method for bringing that wisdom into daily life. The book situates passage meditation as part of Easwaran's eight-point program that, based on traditional spiritual practices but adjusted for modern lifestyles, shows readers how to stay calm and focused at work and home. This edition includes a new preface of previously unpublished material by Easwaran and an epilogue that explains the story behind the book and invites new readers to join the author on this adventure in the ''world within.''
