Download or read book Magnetic Interactions and Spin Transport written by Almadena Chtchelkanova and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 589 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stuart Wolf This book originated as a series of lectures that were given as part of a Summer School on Spintronics in the end of August, 1998 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It has taken some time to get these lectures in a form suitable for this book and so the process has been an iterative one to provide current information on the topics that are covered. There are some topics that have developed in the intervening years and we have tried to at least alert the readers to them in the Introduction where a rather complete set of references is provided to the current state of the art. The field of magnetism, once thought to be dead or dying, has seen a remarkable rebirth in the last decade and promises to get even more important as we enter the new millennium. This rebirth is due to some very new insight into how the spin degree of freedom of both electrons and nucleons can play a role in a new type of electronics that utilizes the spin in addition to or in place of the charge. For this new field to mature and prosper, it is important that students and postdoctoral fellows have access to the appropriate literature that can give them a sound basis in the funda mentals of this new field and I hope that this book is a very good start in this direction.

Book Synopsis Magnetic Heads for Digital Recording by : Petru Ciureanu
Download or read book Magnetic Heads for Digital Recording written by Petru Ciureanu and published by Elsevier Publishing Company. This book was released on 1990 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is devoted to one of the most interesting technical applications of ferromagnetism - magnetic recording. The scope includes comprehensive information on the state-of-the-art theory and practice of digital magnetic heads for longitudinal recording. It is one of the first reviews to appear in this specific field, presenting both the fundamentals of magnetic recording and recent developments in this area. Notions, data and knowledge concerning classical magnetism, physics of thin ferromagnetic films, microelectronics and, obviously, data processing and recording techniques are methodically assembled. Advanced digital recording technologies are discussed, including some of the authors' results on research on thin-film magnetic heads. The main emphasis of the book is on up-to-date magnetic recording: thin-film inductive and magnetoresistive heads. These subjects have received much attention in the literature, but very little has appeared in book form. As a conclusion, this book contains exhaustive information on digital magnetic heads for longitudinal recording.
Book Synopsis The Complete Handbook of Magnetic Recording by : Finn Jorgensen
Download or read book The Complete Handbook of Magnetic Recording written by Finn Jorgensen and published by TAB/Electronics. This book was released on 1996 with total page 842 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Complete Book of Magnetic Recording Get the very latest and most up-to-date information on every aspect of magnetic recording with the 4th edition of one of TAB's all-time best-sellers. Often referred to as the "Bible" by technicians and engineers working in the magnetic recording industry, the Handbook is practical rather than theoretical in its approach. In the rapidly growing field of magnetic recording, this book is truly the "authority" with easy access to topics of interest and extensive instruction on the equipment and techniques prevalent in the industry. This massive reference volume contains numerous illustrations and three indexes (illustrations, names and terms) for quick cross-referencing. References are also included for further study. Every engineer and technician working in the field of magnetic recording should add the Handbook to their reference shelf.

Book Synopsis Springer Handbook of Semiconductor Devices by : Massimo Rudan
Download or read book Springer Handbook of Semiconductor Devices written by Massimo Rudan and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-10 with total page 1680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Springer Handbook comprehensively covers the topic of semiconductor devices, embracing all aspects from theoretical background to fabrication, modeling, and applications. Nearly 100 leading scientists from industry and academia were selected to write the handbook's chapters, which were conceived for professionals and practitioners, material scientists, physicists and electrical engineers working at universities, industrial R&D, and manufacturers. Starting from the description of the relevant technological aspects and fabrication steps, the handbook proceeds with a section fully devoted to the main conventional semiconductor devices like, e.g., bipolar transistors and MOS capacitors and transistors, used in the production of the standard integrated circuits, and the corresponding physical models. In the subsequent chapters, the scaling issues of the semiconductor-device technology are addressed, followed by the description of novel concept-based semiconductor devices. The last section illustrates the numerical simulation methods ranging from the fabrication processes to the device performances. Each chapter is self-contained, and refers to related topics treated in other chapters when necessary, so that the reader interested in a specific subject can easily identify a personal reading path through the vast contents of the handbook.
