It has been arranged for the instruction in gross human anatomy in the University of Michigan where the required work for the degree of Doctor of Medicine can be completed during the first year of the medical course. Students working half of each day are expected to complete the dissection and systematic study of the entire body by the end of the first twenty-four weeks of the college year. For convenience the body is divided bilaterally into two regions with the arbitrary division at the level of the diaphragm. Each requires an equal amount of time.
