Pereira por su ubicación geográfica es una ciudad que cuenta con una pluviosidad elevada (2.108 mm anuales) [3]. Teniendo la posibilidad de aprovechamiento de este recurso; la intensión es poder satisfacer la demanda necesaria de agua en una vivienda permitiendo el ahorro en el consumo del agua del acueducto y aprovechando mejor los recursos. Se sabe que en promedio una vivienda tiene un consumo de agua entre 20m3 a 30m3 al mes [1], y contando con las características promedio de las viviendas se estima que se puede lograr almacenar 11m3 mensuales (Correspondiente a cargas y descargas del tanque), teniendo entonces una reserva de agua disponible para los sistemas de mayor consumo como son: las ducha e inodoros, permitiendo ahorrar aproximadamente un 30% de agua cada mes. El objetivo de este proyecto es: Diseñar un sistema de tanques automatizados para la reserva de aguas lluvias. Los objetivos específicos del proyecto son: Diseñar un sistema de tanques que permita almacenar aguas lluvias en interiores y/o exteriores según sea el caso; Diseñar el sistema de control que permita la conmutación del consumo entre el agua lluvia almacenada y el acueducto; Realizar un análisis de costos, autonomía y consumo de energía del equipo. Para el desarrollo de este proyecto se emplearán etapas de investigación, posteriormente se realizará el diseño del sistema y una vez se tenga la configuración se procede a determinar los sensores, actuadores, sistemas de control y finalmente se hará la parte de costeo y estudio de gasto para su correcta implementación.

Éste proyecto consiste en el diseño y construcción de un sistema de aprovechamiento de agua lluvia, con el cual se puede desde un tanque en un nivel inferior impulsar agua hasta uno en un nivel superior, con el objetivo de aprovechar la ley de gravedad y realizar el bombeo para agua no potable a las partes previamente asignadas del hogar, al mismo tiempo comunicando de manera inalámbrica el porcentaje de agua del nivel del tanque superior, al usuario que se ubica en la parte baja del sistema. Además, se diseñó el sistema mecánico en un software especializado (Working Model, y Autodesk Inventor ) con el objetivo de hacerlo lo más seguro y eficiente posible frente a las condiciones de uso, simultáneamente se adquirieron los componentes necesarios para la comunicación y transporte de dicho líquido, basado en una investigación previa del entorno; posteriormente, se procede a la realización de toda la comunicación inalámbrica a través de dispositivos Xbee, de forma remota entre el maestro y el esclavo. Por último, por medio de pruebas mecánicas del sistema se presentan estudios para dos viviendas, de tres y dos pisos respectivamente, con el fin de analizar su funcionamiento y viabilidad.

This book presents the outcome of this undertaking and is the result of four years collaborative work by a number of international experts from various fields of anaerobic process technology. The purpose of this approach is to provide a unified basis for anaerobic digestion modelling. It is hoped this will promote increased application of modelling and simulation as a tool for research, design, operation and optimisation of anaerobic processes worldwide. This model was developed on the basis of the extensive but often disparate work in modelling and simulation of anaerobic digestion systems over the last twenty years. In developing ADM1, the Task Group have tried to establish common nomenclature, units and model structure, consistent with existing anaerobic modelling literature and the popular activated sludge models (See Activated Sludge Models ASM1, ASM2, ASM2d and ASM3, IWA Publishing, 2000, ISBN: 1900222248). As such, it is intended to promote widespread application of simulation from domestic (wastewater and sludge) treatment systems to specialised industrial applications. Outputs from the model include common process variables such gas flow and composition, pH, separate organic acids, and ammonium. The structure has been devised to encourage specific extensions or modifications where required, but still maintain a common platform. During development the model has been successfully tested on a range of systems from full-scale waste sludge digestion to laboratory-scale thermophilic high-rate UASB reactors. The model structure is presented in a readily applicable matrix format for implementation in many available differential equation solvers. It is expected that the model will be available as part of commercial wastewater simulation packages. ADM1 will be a valuable information source for practising engineers working in water treatment (both domestic and industrial) as well as academic researchers and students in Environmental Engineering and Science, Civil and Sanitary Engineering, Biotechnology, and Chemical and Process Engineering departments. The aim of the Task Group was to create a common platform that could be used for the future development of models for COD and N removal with a minimum of complexity. As the collaborative result of the work of several modelling groups, the Activated Sludge Model No. 1 (ASM1) was published in 1987, exactly 25 years ago. The ASM1 can be considered as the reference model, since this model triggered the general acceptance of wastewater treatment modelling, first in the research community and later on also in practice. ASM1 has become a reference for many scientific and practical projects, and has been implemented (in some cases with modifications) in most of the commercial software available for modelling and simulation of plants for N removal. The models have grown more complex over the years, from ASM1, including N removal processes, to ASM2 (and its variations) including P removal processes, and ASM3 that corrects the deficiencies of ASM1 and is based on a metabolic approach to modelling. So far, ASM1 is the most widely applied. Applications of Activated Sludge Models has been prepared in celebration of 25 years of ASM1 and in tribute to the activated sludge modelling pioneer, the late Professor G.v.R. Marrais. It consists of a dozen of practical applications for ASM models to model development, plant optimization, extension, upgrade, retrofit and troubleshooting, carried out by the members of the Delft modelling group over the last two decades.
