Book Synopsis Nanotechnology of Graphene Discovery of the Hybridization Conductive Ink (UTeM Press) by : Mohd Azli Salim
Download or read book Nanotechnology of Graphene Discovery of the Hybridization Conductive Ink (UTeM Press) written by Mohd Azli Salim and published by UTeM Press. This book was released on 2020-01-12 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conductive ink is a special type of ink that allows an electric current to flow through the ink. The conductive ink-filled epoxy is also known as conductive composite because the ink itself is based on more than two ingredients such as filler, binder and hardener. As interconnect material, the conductive inks should feature good electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. Nonetheless, to-date, there are some issues with current conductive ink that available in the market namely printing quality, high electrical resistivity as well as inferior mechanical strength. Therefore, this book aims to produce highly functional conductive ink using two types of carbon-based conductive fillers with epoxy as a binder. More specifically, graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) and multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) were used to produce the hybrid conductive ink. It is very important to make sure the materials are contact with each other and therefore the movement of an electron will become easier.

Book Synopsis Nanotechnology Research Directions: IWGN Workshop Report by : R.S. Williams
Download or read book Nanotechnology Research Directions: IWGN Workshop Report written by R.S. Williams and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: energy production, environmental management, transportation, communication, computation, and education. As the twenty-first century unfolds, nanotechnology's impact on the health, wealth, and security of the world's people is expected to be at least as significant as the combined influences in this century of antibiotics, the integrated circuit, and human-made polymers. Dr. Neal Lane, Advisor to the President for Science and Technology and former National Science Foundation (NSF) director, stated at a Congressional hearing in April 1998, "If I were asked for an area of science and engineering that will most likely produce the breakthroughs of tomorrow, I would point to nanoscale science and engineering. " Recognizing this potential, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) have issued a joint memorandum to Federal agency heads that identifies nanotechnology as a research priority area for Federal investment in fiscal year 2001. This report charts "Nanotechnology Research Directions," as developed by the Interagency W orking Group on Nano Science, Engineering, and Technology (IWGN) of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). The report incorporates the views of leading experts from government, academia, and the private sector. It reflects the consensus reached at an IWGN-sponsored workshop held on January 27-29, 1999, and detailed in contributions submitted thereafter by members of the V. S. science and engineering community. (See Appendix A for a list of contributors.

Download or read book Analysis of the Bio- and Nano-technological Market of Germany to Find Market Entry Strategies for Chosen IBM Research Developments written by Daniel Bartel and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2011-02 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essay from the year 2011 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: keine, University of Cooperative Education Stuttgart, course: Intercultural Management, language: English, abstract: In this seminar paper I want to discuss about IBM's efforts in the biotechnology and nanotechnology sector. As the lecture international management designated I will coin these efforts with strategies of market entry within Germany. I have chosen IBM, a US-based company, because it is highly involved in building future technologies. The Company is well known for its activities around the world and sees itself as a globally integrated enterprise. However, cultural attitudes of different countries still determine the success or failure of market entries. Germany is known as a technology-leading country. Also dealing with powerful NGO's the success of new market entry with modern technology might seems less predictable . In the first part of this paper I give a brief description about IBM, its research fields related to the topic and outline four research examples. Followed by an introduc-tion of Germany's cultural attitude to bio- and nanotechnology I provide some strategic suggestions on how IBM could manage the expansion of its efforts within the targeted country.
Book Synopsis Nanotechnology, Lessons from Nature by : Deb Newberry
Download or read book Nanotechnology, Lessons from Nature written by Deb Newberry and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2021-12-27 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As long as humans have existed on the planet, they have looked at the world around them and wondered about much of what they saw. This book covers 21 different phenomena that have been observed in nature and puzzled about for decades.Only recently, with the development of the microscopes and other tools that allow us to study, evaluate, and test these observed phenomena at the molecular and atomic scale, have researchers been able to understand the science behind these observations. From the strength of a marine sponge found at the depths of the oceans, to the insect-hydroplaning surface of the edge of a plant, to the intricacies of the eyes of a moth, nanotechnology has allowed science to define and understand these amazing capabilities. In many cases, this new understanding has been applied to products and applications that benefit humans and the environment. For each of the five ecosystems— the ocean, insects, flora, fauna, and humans—the observations, study and understanding, and applications will be covered. The relationship between the more easily observed macro level and understanding what is found at the nanoscale will also be discussed.
