Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The year is 2017 in a Yorkshire town in England. A group of travellers were aware of others like them, capable of jumping into alternative worlds. This is traveller Michael Morrow’s plane of existence, but he is not alone. Susan arrived from a laterally inverted world in 2015. Originally from 1875, Lisa arrived from a world moving at a faster time rate than Michael’s. James experimented and opened portals, arriving from the year 2280. Throughout his travels, James actually intercepted a younger Michael Morrow in 1994. They have some adventures with the guardians whom prevent the distortion of events including ones for personal gain. Dimensional Observer Part V outlines the experience of what it was actually like to enter alternative worlds, which are moving alongside ours in different times, besides future travel.
Book Synopsis Towards a Psychophysiological Approach in Physical Activity, Exercise, and Sports by : Pedro Forte
Download or read book Towards a Psychophysiological Approach in Physical Activity, Exercise, and Sports written by Pedro Forte and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2023-10-30 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, there has been an increase in interest in mental health disorders as a result of mediatic coverage of Olympic athletes’ mental health struggles, and also due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. These phenomena helped to further exacerbate a problem already extensively present in sport and society. Therefore, applying a psychophysiological approach to physical activity, exercise, and sports research has become very popular. Indeed, mental fatigue and mental disorders are not only psychological in origin, but also require an explanation from a psychophysiological perspective due to the effective interconnection between the psychological and physiological dimensions. Psychological variables can also influence performance and the psychophysiological system has a strong effect on the control of physical capacities. Moreover, pacing behaviour, decision-making, self-regulation, and effort perception can also explain the role of the brain in physical activity and exercise management. Thus, the aim of this Research Topic is to share the impact of a psychophysiological approach in physical activity, exercise and sports.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My aim, in writing this monograph, has been to remedy this omission by presenting a comprehensive and unified theory of observers for continuous-time and discrete -time linear systems. The book is intended for post-graduate students and researchers specializing in control systems, now a core subject in a number of disciplines. Forming, as it does, a self-contained volume it should also be of service to control engineers primarily interested in applications, and to mathematicians with some exposure to control problems.

Book Synopsis Structural Geology by : David D. Pollard
Download or read book Structural Geology written by David D. Pollard and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-07-23 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tackling structural geology problems today requires a quantitative understanding of the underlying physical principles, and the ability to apply mathematical models to deformation processes within the Earth. Accessible yet rigorous, this unique textbook demonstrates how to approach structural geology quantitatively using calculus and mechanics, and prepares students to interface with professional geophysicists and engineers who appreciate and utilize the same tools and computational methods to solve multidisciplinary problems. Clearly explained methods are used throughout the book to quantify field data, set up mathematical models for the formation of structures, and compare model results to field observations. An extensive online package of coordinated laboratory exercises enables students to consolidate their learning and put it into practice by analyzing structural data and building insightful models. Designed for single-semester undergraduate courses, this pioneering text prepares students for graduates studies and careers as professional geoscientists.

Book Synopsis Cosmology in (2+1)- Dimensions, Cyclic Models, and Deformations of M2,1 by : Victor Guillemin
Download or read book Cosmology in (2+1)- Dimensions, Cyclic Models, and Deformations of M2,1 written by Victor Guillemin and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 1989-03-21 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject matter of this work is an area of Lorentzian geometry which has not been heretofore much investigated: Do there exist Lorentzian manifolds all of whose light-like geodesics are periodic? A surprising fact is that such manifolds exist in abundance in (2 + 1)-dimensions (though in higher dimensions they are quite rare). This book is concerned with the deformation theory of M2,1 (which furnishes almost all the known examples of these objects). It also has a section describing conformal invariants of these objects, the most interesting being the determinant of a two dimensional "Floquet operator," invented by Paneitz and Segal.
