Weiter wird erläutert, in welcher Weise Nutzer bereits heute mit Themen der digitalen Ethik in Kontakt getreten sind und welchen Einfluss die ethischen Werte beim Nutzer haben. Die grundsätzliche Annahme bestand in folgender Überlegung: Je früher potenzielle Nutzer in den Entstehungsprozess eingebunden werden, je mehr auf die von den Nutzern selbstgewählten ethischen Werte, Normen und Grundsätze bei der Entwicklung von neuen Technologien geachtet wird, desto höher ist das Vertrauen in die informationstechnische Sicherheit und die Akzeptanz von Innovationen bei den Nutzern. Im ersten Teil der Masterarbeit wird die Digitale Ethik als Teilgebiet der Ethik eingeordnet und ein Überblick über die Grundlagen und zentralen Themen der Digitalen Ethik gegeben. Der Fokus liegt hier auf den unterschiedlichen Themengebieten. Dies soll in das Thema einführen und ein grundlegendes Verständnis über die Thematiken vermitteln. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit befasst sich mit der Digitalisierung und mit Konfliktsituationen im digitalen Zeitalter. Der Autor gibt einen Überblick über den Einsatz neuer Technologien und die daraus entstehenden digital-ethischen Probleme, sowie die bisherigen ethischen Bemühungen von internationalen Organisationen und Gremien. Im dritten Teil dieser Arbeit wird die empirische Studie im Detail dargestellt und die einzelnen Fragen und Antworten der Teilnehmer ausgewertet. Auf der Basis der gewonnen Erkenntnisse über Werte, Normen, Anforderungen und Grundsätze aus der empirischen Studie werden dann die Hypothesen überprüft, und eine Handlungsempfehlung in Form von ethischen Leitlinien und Bewertungslisten für digitale Anwendungen in Unternehmen wird abgegeben.
