En 1999, deux thèses portant sur l'évaluation de ce premier semestre de stage sont faites à X. Bichat. Cinq ans après, avec un recul de dix semestres de stage effectués chez le praticien, par 276 résidents, il nous a semblé utile d'analyser l'ensemble des évaluations produites par les étudiants durant cette période et de décrire l'évolution du stage. Les évaluations ont, pour le moment, porté principalement sur les aspects pratiques du stage, mais au bout de cinq ans, le stage chez le praticien est bien rodé. Même si quelques problèmes subsistent (manque de communication entre les maîtres de stage et la faculté, niveau pédagogique des maîtres de stage jugé parfois insuffisant), les étudiants sont globalement satisfaits de leur stage dans sa forme actuelle. Il faut maintenant se concentrer sur l'évaluation de la pierre angulaire de ce stage : le maître de stage. L'évaluation de son niveau pédagogique est donc primordiale. L'audit des maîtres de stage déjà en place est une bonne avancée dans ce domaine, et doit être complété par des outils appropriés. Dans ce contexte, l'utilisation d'une grille de type Bordage semble adéquate, et devra remplacer les anciens questionnaires d'évaluation devenus obsolètes. Mais ces outils, de type quantitatif, ne représentent qu'une partie des moyens d'évaluation du stage chez le praticien. Les réunions de groupe, par exemple, avec des évaluations qualitatives sont aussi très importantes et font partie d'un ensemble devant permettre une " culture de l'évaluation "
