Industrie 4.0 und die im Zuge dessen entstanden sogenannten "Smart Factories" sind in der heutigen Zeit Begriffe, denen fast jeder schon einmal begegnet ist. Wird sich jedoch in der Umgebung umgehört, so wissen die Menschen oftmals gar nicht genau, was darunter verstanden wird und welches Ausmaß diese Begriffe besitzen. Ob und inwiefern wirklich neue und erhebliche Risiken mit dem Ausbau des Unternehmens zu einer Smart Factory entstehen und was eine Smart Factory überhaupt ist, wird Thema dieser Hausarbeit sein. Dabei wird zunächst der Begriff der Industrie 4.0 erläutert und darauf aufbauend beschrieben, was eine Fabrik wirklich intelligent macht. Anschließend findet eine Unterteilung in Sicherheitsrisiken, organisatorische Risiken und wirtschaftliche Risiken statt, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf den Sicherheitsrisiken liegen wird. Ziel soll es sein, am Ende dieser Hausarbeit einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Risiken zu erhalten, mit denen die Unternehmen im Zuge von intelligenten Fabriken konfrontiert werden. Die vorangegangenen drei Revolutionen, angefangen mit der ersten Revolution und der damit verbundenen Einrichtung mechanischer Produktionsanlagen und dem Antrieb von Maschinen durch Wasser- und Dampfkraft, über die zweite Revolution mit der Einführung der Elektrizität als Antriebskraft und dem Beginn der Fließbandfertigung hin zur dritten industriellen Revolution ab den 1970er Jahren, haben den Weg für die derzeitigen Entwicklungen geebnet. In der dritten Revolution lag der Fokus auf einem zunehmenden Elektronikeinsatz und Automatisierung durch IT. Smart Factories im Rahmen der vierten industriellen Revolution können für Unternehmen, die sich hin zu solch intelligenten Fabriken entwickeln wollen, sehr herausfordernd sein. Insbesondere durch die hohe Komplexität der Automatisierungstechnik und durch die starke Vernetzung der Systeme und Maschinen in einem Betrieb, aber auch mit anderen Unternehmen über die Unternehmensgrenzen hinweg, kann es zu einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Sicherheitsrisiken kommen. Durch cyber-physische Produktionssysteme gelingt dabei die Verknüpfung von physischer und virtuelle Welt, die dadurch kaum noch voneinander zu trennen sind.
