Book Synopsis Local Approximation Techniques in Signal and Image Processing by : Vladimir I︠A︡kovlevich Katkovnik
Download or read book Local Approximation Techniques in Signal and Image Processing written by Vladimir I︠A︡kovlevich Katkovnik and published by SPIE-International Society for Optical Engineering. This book was released on 2006 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with a wide class of novel and efficient adaptive signal processing techniques developed to restore signals from noisy and degraded observations. These signals include those acquired from still or video cameras, electron microscopes, radar, X-rays, or ultrasound devices, and are used for various purposes, including entertainment, medical, business, industrial, military, civil, security, and scientific. In many cases useful information and high quality must be extracted from the imaging. However, often raw signals are not directly suitable for this purpose and must be processed in some way. Such processing is called signal reconstruction. This book is devoted to a recent and original approach to signal reconstruction based on combining two independent ideas: local polynomial approximation and the intersection of confidence interval rule.

Book Synopsis Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI: Physical and Mathematical Models by : A.A. Amini
Download or read book Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI: Physical and Mathematical Models written by A.A. Amini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-12-31 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI: Physical and Mathematical Models describes the latest imaging and imag analysis techniques that have been developed at leading centers for the visualization, analysis, and understanding of normal and abnormal cardiac motion with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The use of MRI in measuring cardiac motion is particularly important because MRI is non-invasive, and it is the only modality capable of imaging detailed intramural motion within the myocardium. Biomedical engineers, medical physicists, computer scientists, and physicians interested in learning about the latest advances in cardiovascular MRI should find this book to be a valuable educational resource. In particular, it is more tutorial in nature than most of the technical papers where the research was originally published. Practitioners and researchers working in the field of cardiovascular MRI will find the book to be filled with practical technical details and references to other work, enabling the implementation of existing methods and serving as a basis for further research in the area.
Book Synopsis Object Detection by Stereo Vision Images by : R. Arokia Priya
Download or read book Object Detection by Stereo Vision Images written by R. Arokia Priya and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2022-08-25 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: OBJECT DETECTION BY STEREO VISION IMAGES Since both theoretical and practical aspects of the developments in this field of research are explored, including recent state-of-the-art technologies and research opportunities in the area of object detection, this book will act as a good reference for practitioners, students, and researchers. Current state-of-the-art technologies have opened up new opportunities in research in the areas of object detection and recognition of digital images and videos, robotics, neural networks, machine learning, stereo vision matching algorithms, soft computing, customer prediction, social media analysis, recommendation systems, and stereo vision. This book has been designed to provide directions for those interested in researching and developing intelligent applications to detect an object and estimate depth. In addition to focusing on the performance of the system using high-performance computing techniques, a technical overview of certain tools, languages, libraries, frameworks, and APIs for developing applications is also given. More specifically, detection using stereo vision images/video from its developmental stage up till today, its possible applications, and general research problems relating to it are covered. Also presented are techniques and algorithms that satisfy the peculiar needs of stereo vision images along with emerging research opportunities through analysis of modern techniques being applied to intelligent systems. Audience Researchers in information technology looking at robotics, deep learning, machine learning, big data analytics, neural networks, pattern & data mining, and image and object recognition. Industrial sectors include automotive electronics, security and surveillance systems, and online retailers.
Book Synopsis Geometric Constraints for Object Detection and Delineation by : Jefferey Shufelt
Download or read book Geometric Constraints for Object Detection and Delineation written by Jefferey Shufelt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ability to extract generic 3D objects from images is a crucial step towards automation of a variety of problems in cartographic database compilation, industrial inspection and assembly, and autonomous navigation. Many of these problem domains do not have strong constraints on object shape or scene content, presenting serious obstacles for the development of robust object detection and delineation techniques. Geometric Constraints for Object Detection and Delineation addresses these problems with a suite of novel methods and techniques for detecting and delineating generic objects in images of complex scenes, and applies them to the specific task of building detection and delineation from monocular aerial imagery. PIVOT, the fully automated system implementing these techniques, is quantitatively evaluated on 83 images covering 18 test scenes, and compared to three existing systems for building extraction. The results highlight the performance improvements possible with rigorous photogrammetric camera modeling, primitive-based object representations, and geometric constraints derived from their combination. PIVOT's performance illustrates the implications of a clearly articulated set of philosophical principles, taking a significant step towards automatic detection and delineation of 3D objects in real-world environments. Geometric Constraints for Object Detection and Delineation is suitable as a textbook or as a secondary text for a graduate-level course, and as a reference for researchers and practitioners in industry.
