Download or read book Analysis and Synthesis of Dynamical Systems with Time-Delays written by Yuanqing Xia and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-10-06 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time-delay occurs in many dynamical systems such as biological systems, chemical systems, metallurgical processing systems, nuclear reactor, long transmission lines in pneumatic, hydraulic systems and electrical networks. Especially, in recent years, time-delay which exists in networked control s- temshasbroughtmorecomplexproblemintoanewresearcharea.Frequently, itisasourceofthegenerationofoscillation, instabilityandpoorperformance. Considerable e?ort has been applied to di?erent aspects of linear time-delay systems during recent years. Because the introduction of the delay factor renders the system analysis more complicated, in addition to the di?culties caused by the perturbation or uncertainties, in the control of time-delay s- tems, the problems of robust stability and robust stabilization are of great importance. This book presents some basic theories of stability and stabilization of systems with time-delay, which are related to the main results in this book. More attention will be paid on synthesis of systems with time-delay. That is, sliding mode control of systems with time-delay; networked control systems with time-delay; networked data fusion with random delay.

Book Synopsis State Estimation and Control for Low-cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicles by : Chingiz Hajiyev
Download or read book State Estimation and Control for Low-cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicles written by Chingiz Hajiyev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-10 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses state estimation and control procedures for a low-cost unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The authors consider the use of robust adaptive Kalman filter algorithms and demonstrate their advantages over the optimal Kalman filter in the context of the difficult and varied environments in which UAVs may be employed. Fault detection and isolation (FDI) and data fusion for UAV air-data systems are also investigated, and control algorithms, including the classical, optimal, and fuzzy controllers, are given for the UAV. The performance of different control methods is investigated and the results compared. State Estimation and Control of Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicles covers all the important issues for designing a guidance, navigation and control (GNC) system of a low-cost UAV. It proposes significant new approaches that can be exploited by GNC system designers in the future and also reviews the current literature. The state estimation, control and FDI methods are illustrated by examples and MATLAB® simulations. State Estimation and Control of Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicles will be of interest to both researchers in academia and professional engineers in the aerospace industry. Graduate students may also find it useful, and some sections are suitable for an undergraduate readership.
Book Synopsis The Design and Analysis of Integrated Navigation Systems Using Real INS and GPS Data by :
Download or read book The Design and Analysis of Integrated Navigation Systems Using Real INS and GPS Data written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An extended Kalman filter (EKF) is used to combine the information obtained from a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and an Inertial Navigation System (INS) to provide a navigation solution. This research compares the results of an actual tightly-coupled GPS/INS integrated system with those obtained in computer simulation. Differences between the simulation and actual hardware results, such as navigation solutions and tuning values, are shown in the research. An analysis of various GPS models was studied to determine the best representation for a system truth model. Measurement updates and their effects upon position accuracies was considered and preliminary research was conducted to determine when a feedback implementation was advantageous over a feedforward approach. The results suggest that the computer simulations being used at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) produce better navigation solutions than are actually possible with real hardware. Alternate system truth models were found which would estimate the errors of an actual system more accurately with less computational loading.

Book Synopsis Linear Estimation in Interconnected Sensor Systems with Information Constraints by : Reinhardt, Marc
Download or read book Linear Estimation in Interconnected Sensor Systems with Information Constraints written by Reinhardt, Marc and published by KIT Scientific Publishing. This book was released on 2015-04-15 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A ubiquitous challenge in many technical applications is to estimate an unknown state by means of data that stems from several, often heterogeneous sensor sources. In this book, information is interpreted stochastically, and techniques for the distributed processing of data are derived that minimize the error of estimates about the unknown state. Methods for the reconstruction of dependencies are proposed and novel approaches for the distributed processing of noisy data are developed.

Book Synopsis A Formation Flight Relative Navigation System by : Stephen Charles Felter
Download or read book A Formation Flight Relative Navigation System written by Stephen Charles Felter and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The trajectories considered are straight and level flight, turning flight and climbing flight. The first analysis considered the covariance propagation of both models without measurement updates. The reduced model process noise matrix is adjusted to account for the unmodeled terms. Next, the performance of the reduced filter with the adjusted process noise matrix is evaluated using, a new covariance analysis technique for the fault tolerant mode of the federated filter. The results of the covariance analysis are compared with actual flight results over an instrumented test range.
