Este método permitió identificar que la estructura de las FE en la edad preescolar, incluye dos componentes: memoria de trabajo e inhibición que están relacionados, pero que son independientes e inciden en los componentes de planeación y flexibilidad mental. Estos hallazgos nos ayudan a identificar el desarrollo normal y dan herramientas para intervenir en los casos de patologías. Es un libro que merece un lugar prominente en la biblioteca de estudiantes, investigadores y clínicos que busquen la comprensión actualizada sobre este novedoso e importante tema. He tenido la oportunidad y privilegio de conocer a María Guadalupe González Osornio como alumna y colaboradora en mi laboratorio desde 2006. Su compromiso, entusiasmo y pasión han sido una fuente de inspiración constante en mi quehacer científico, Lupita ha sido una alumna brillante y comprometida, y éste es, sin duda, el primero de muchas futuras aportaciones que Lupita realizará al estudio de la compleja relación entre el cerebro y la conducta.
