Also to modify, where convenient, the symbols used, in accordance with the' list adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission in 1913. A copy of this list is given in Appendix vh. The sections on Dry Cells have been rewritten, and that dealing with Storage Cells amplified. The addendum to Appendix I, relating to the practical electrical units, has been revised and extended to include more recent work in this subject.
