Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Demystifying Steroids uncovers the "other side" of anabolic steroids and their possible benefits using real case examples from thousands of patients and medical research. This book empowers the reader to discover a new truth about anabolic steroids for themselves. Dr. Jesse Haggard has organized the information into two sections. The first section is easy to read and discusses steroid use in medicine and sports. Popular beliefs about anabolic steroids are challenged, including the dangers of steroid use. Many case examples are included to illustrate the unfamiliar benefits of steroids in cancer, multiple sclerosis, women, and HIV. The effect professional sports has on the medical use of steroids is also assessed and recommendations are made to reduce such an influence. The second section is more technical and is intended for the reader who wants to achieve a greater understanding of the medical research and clinical pearls of anabolic steroid therapies. The historical and current medical literature regarding prostate cancer is examined. Intervention models of anabolic steroids and the subsequent effect on disease prevalence are projected using this information. In addition, Dr. Haggard describes clinical methods, not commonly discussed, for achieving the greatest clinical outcomes and reducing or eliminating many potential adverse effects of anabolic steroid treatments.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book demystifies the models we use to simulate present and future climates, allowing readers to better understand how to use climate model results. In order to predict the future trajectory of the Earth’s climate, climate-system simulation models are necessary. When and how do we trust climate model predictions? The book offers a framework for answering this question. It provides readers with a basic primer on climate and climate change, and offers non-technical explanations for how climate models are constructed, why they are uncertain, and what level of confidence we should place in them. It presents current results and the key uncertainties concerning them. Uncertainty is not a weakness but understanding uncertainty is a strength and a key part of using any model, including climate models. Case studies of how climate model output has been used and how it might be used in the future are provided. The ultimate goal of this book is to promote a better understanding of the structure and uncertainties of climate models among users, including scientists, engineers and policymakers.

Book excerpt: “A phenomenal journey of unveiling the Scientificity of Homoeopathy that has been mysteriously masked since time immemorial.” This book unfolds the latest, astonishing evidence-based discovery as to how foreign exogenous proteins are capable of disrupting the homeostasis of our body and predisposing it to chronic diseases or chronicity. Dr. Hahnemann has strongly asserted that, “Treat the person as one whole and not his individual parts”, which holds true because when a person falls ill, it’s the interior that gets disturbed first. This disturbance not only disseminates to the functional unit of the body, i.e., the cells, but also pervades the proteins, which form a major constituent of our body. Dr. Rajan Dubey, renowned for his scientific and evidence-based writing, has described the intricate process by which protein disturbance occurs and chronicity commences in our body. He also accentuates the role of external influences like emotions, diet and environment in governing our DNA and genes, whereby exciting and maintaining the disease process. To substantiate the scientificity of the Theory of Chronic Diseases proposed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann and also to facilitate its easy and practical utility even in today’s era, we took up a retrospective study of a random sample of 30 patients from a pool of around 10,000 patients visiting MEDIGENE HOMOEOCARE, our clinical institute located in Mumbai. The purpose of the study was to trace down the precursor leading to chronicity in each patient. Amongst these, 10 cases are explained in complete detail to serve as a practical guide to the readers. An insight into the remedies, holding close proximity to the case and the differentiation between them, has been imparted as well.

Book excerpt: The enemy is among us, waging a war of world political domination against us. We must fight to strike it at its core, or else we will be in serious trouble. The Demystify Sin spiritual manual series deals with a simple brand of truth that exposes the deep darkness and equips us to overcome it in our objective reality. It discusses practical techniques to help us stand on our feet spiritually. This volume explores spiritual dynamics leading to a clear and potentially grave destination as predefined in the Word of God. It serves as the Spirit of God shining the light of the Word into the darkness, revealing the enemy at work, and it offers ways to defend ourselves against that enemy. God has called and appointed author Ola Faseku to undermine and expose the darkness, and Jesus Christ gave him wisdom, revelation, knowledge, and understanding of scriptures and the times, which he shares as truth without fear. This spiritual guide tells how we will deal with the antichrist and his war that is in progress; how we will contain and dismantle Babylon: satan’s kingdom of darkness on earth.

Book excerpt: If we were to ask what is the root cause of our current and unprecedented environmental crisis, climate change, many, particularly on the progressive Left, would refer to the excesses of capitalism—and they’d be right. In Eco-Nihilism: The Philosophical Geopolitics of the Climate Change Apocalypse, Wendy Lynne Lee demonstrates that there are no versions of conquest capital compatible with the fact of a finite planet and that a logic whose operating premise is growth is destined to not only exhaust our planetary resources, but also generate profound social injustice and geopolitical violence in its pursuit. Nonetheless, it is clear that the violence and injustice of capital is selective—some benefit greatly while others are subjugated to its pathological drive to profit. Hence, Lee argues that any comprehensive analysis of what Jason Moore has dubbed the Capitalocene must include an equally probing account of human chauvinism, that is, the axes along which capital is supplied with resources and labor. Defined in terms of race, sex, gender, and species, these axes come ready-made to the advantage of capitalist commodification. Without an understanding of how and why, humanity will remain doomed to settling for a sustainably unjust world as opposed to realizing a just and desirable one. Indeed, on our current trajectory, we may not even achieve the sustainable. The introduction of climate change into the mix of environmental deterioration, the ever-widening economic gap between global North and global South, and the accelerating violence of terrorism, civil war, and human slavery make of a warming planet a combustible world. The only way out requires ending the myth of endless resources, a rejection of climate change denial, and a radical re-valuation of human-centeredness, not as a locus of power, but as an opportunity to take moral and epistemic responsibility for a world whose biotic diversity and ecological integrity make the struggle to realize it worthwhile. This solution demands not only an end to capitalism, but the deliberate reclamation of value—aesthetic, moral, and civic—and a radical transformation of both personal and collective conscience. Lee appeals to the experiential aesthetics of John Dewey and the feminist concept of the standpoint of the subjugated. She argues for a version of the precautionary principle informed by an environmentally and socially responsible concept of the desirable future as the clearest path away from the precipice.
