Hierfür wird das Konzept von Gerhard Himmelmann herangezogen, der Demokratie in drei Ebenen unterteilt, der Demokratie als Herrschafts-, Lebens- und als Gesellschaftsform. Dies sind auch die drei Ebenen des Demokratie-Lernens und fester Bestandteil dieser Arbeit. Nicht nur der Demokratiebegriff muss erläutert werden für diese Arbeit, sondern auch, wieso besonders das Demokratie-Lernen in der Schule von Bedeutung ist. Hierfür werden Ergebnisse von zwei Jugendstudien herangezogen, um die aktuellen politischen Ansichten und Handlungsbereitschaften der Jugendlichen darzulegen und die Relevanz der Thematik "Demokratie-Lernen" zu verdeutlichen. Demokratie-Lernen ist essenziell für das Leben in der Demokratie. Jedoch ist in den letzten Jahren – besonders in diesem Jahr, seitdem die Corona-Pandemie herrscht – festgestellt worden, dass rechtspopulistische Strömungen, Hetzen, Beleidigungen und "Fake-News" im öffentlichen Diskurs zunahmen. Zudem stieg auch die Gewaltbereitschaft bei Demonstrationen, zum Beispiel von den "Querdenkern", sichtlich an. Daher stellt sich die Frage, ob die demokratische Kultur sowie die Demokratie als Staatsform in Deutschland in Gefahr ist. Dementsprechend entwickelt sich die Forderung an Schulen, dass diese ihren Erziehungsauftrag – Demokratie zu lehren und zu erfahren – verstärkt auszuführen haben. Es ist jedoch Alltag, dass das Engagement der Schüler innerhalb der Politik niedrig ist, auch wenn diese politisch selbst betroffen sind. Nur ein kleiner Anteil der Schülerschaft in Deutschland engagiert sich in der Politik – zum Beispiel an den "Fridays for Future" Demonstrationen.

Through his wrItings and his teaching he contributed his share to the revival of interest in economic theory which was noticeable in the 'twenties. And he was one of the few economists left in Germany who helped to keep this interest alive during the 'thirties and during World War II. During this time he published Kapitaltheoretische Untersuchungen (1936), and the present volume, which immediately gave rise to an extensive discussion in German economic journals.

Book excerpt: This volume brings together key findings of the long-term research project ‘Religious Individualisation in Historical Perspective’ (Max Weber Centre for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies, Erfurt University). Combining a wide range of disciplinary approaches, methods and theories, the volume assembles over 50 contributions that explore and compare processes of religious individualisation in different religious environments and historical periods, in particular in Asia, the Mediterranean, and Europe from antiquity to the recent past. Contrary to standard theories of modernisation, which tend to regard religious individualisation as a specifically modern or early modern as well as an essentially Western or Christian phenomenon, the chapters reveal processes of religious individualisation in a large variety of non-Western and pre-modern scenarios. Furthermore, the volume challenges prevalent views that regard religions primarily as collective phenomena and provides nuanced perspectives on the appropriation of religious agency, the pluralisation of religious options, dynamics of de-traditionalisation and privatisation, the development of elaborated notions of the self, the facilitation of religious deviance, and on the notion of dividuality.
