Book excerpt: Dear Chess Mistress Hex, As requested, here is the summary of the report I wrote to you, detailing the adventures of your intern, Jhe Aladdin so that you can sell it online as a book. Inside you will find mind-stealing monsters from another universe, mechanics with steampunk limbs, unimaginable secrets, and a war spanning ten thousand universes. Also a very bad alternate rule set for chess. As you read the adventures of Aladdin, his bodyguard Aegenor, and their terrifying battle with a strange being called Memnor that can take your very memories, I hope you think about my paycheck and how it's simply too low for someone who wrote a report this fantastic. Sincerely, Carl Fredrickson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The year is 1905 and Powerscourt is sent to Ireland to investigate a series of art thefts from stately houses. Motive troubles Powerscourt; were these robberies merely for gain? A number of Old Masters had been left untouched and the ones taken were all ancient family portraits of the aristocratic Protestant gentry. Are these thefts political? Then, astonishingly, some of the portraits begin to return - but with altered faces; the aristocrats' being replaced by those from the estates and towns beyond the gates. Truly an elaborate joke, but then real people begin to disappear - and not long after the first body is found in the chapel at the top of Croagh Patrick, Ireland's Holy Mountain on the very day 10,000 people make the great pilgrimage to the summit. More follow, and as Powerscourt makes his way towards the killer his own life comes under threat, while his patriotism, and his devotion to Ireland is called into question on his journey towards the truth.

This book was released on 2023-01-21 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quick Overview of the Primal Symbols of Cosmogenesis. How do the Two Ones form the Intelligible World? The First One is a Ray from Parabrahman (Absoluteness). The Second One, Logos Demiourgos (Creative), is a mere reflection of the First. The Virgin Matrix of the Universe is cold Fire — cool Radiance, colourless, formless, devoid of every quality. Only the eye of the Seer can follow and behold the basic line of the Pythagorean Triangle in all its pregenetic glory. How did the Heavenly Snails clothed themselves in the Fabric of Darkness? How does the Triangle becomes Square, and the Square a Six-faced Cube? What is the key to the septenary significance of the Primordial Circle? What are the Four Cardinal Points upon which the rock-cut temples of India were built? The Four Maharajahs, or Great Kings, are the Divine Instructors of nascent humanity and agents of Karma on Earth, whereas the Lipikas are concerned with humanity’s hereafter. The Pythagorean Monas is a Solitary Ray. It strides through the Regions of the Universe in steps, the steps of Vishnu. Unmanifested Logos is The First One. The meaning of the Two Ones explained. Second Logos is The One made Three, concreting into the Third Logos, where the Three live within The One, thus making up the Perfect Square in heaven and a Cube on earth. The meaning of the dotted line explained. Light drops one Solitary Ray. Then number strides in the regions of the universe. Eastern and Kabbalistic Cosmogonies are Identical (Diagram). Cosmogenesis and Anthropogenesis numerically and geometrically expressed. The One attracts within itself the Divine Unity of the One Circle and forms out of It the Perfect Square, thus “squaring the circle.” The Great Circle or Ring Pass-Not is the “Rope of the Angels” hedging off the phenomenal from the noumenal Kosmos. That Circle is the Universal Principle which, from any given point, expands to embrace all things, while embodying the potentiality of every action in Kosmos. How does the Triangle become the Square? How does the Square become the Six-faced Cube? How does the Triad becomes a Tetrad, the Pythagorean Perfect Square in heaven, and a Cube on earth? Mathematically expressed, Logos become Tetragrammaton, i.e., the Three become Four. When the Spiritual Ego, the holy number , germ and matrix of the , enters the animal body, the faces of the cube unfold, thus forming the cross of passions upon which material man (Chrēstos) crucifies himself and disappoints his glorious Spirit (Christos). Kabbalistic interpretation of the “crucifixion nails” reveals their sexual meaning. The occult meaning of the Svastika, emblem of the activity of Fohat, symbolised by the figure and the Sacred Four, explained. The true Word may only be found by tracing the mystery of the passage inward and outward of Life Eternal, through the states typified in the Unmanifested Circle, the Triangle, and the Perfect Square. “The true Word may only be found by tracing the mystery of the passage inward and outward of the Eternal Life, through the states typified in these three geometric figures,” says a Master of Wisdom. The Divine Heptad is the key to squaring the circle and to the philosophers’ stone, which is no stone. The Ineffable Word, being composed of Seven Letters, represents the First Hebdomad. The Seventh Letter is the highest in initiations; the remaining six are substitutes. The Sacred Word is the Central Mathematical Point, around which the Six-pointed star, emblem of the Theosophical Society, revolves and evolves. The meaning of two Interlaced Triangles explained by a Master of Wisdom. The Unmanifested Circle or Absolute Life, is non-existent outside the Ideal Triangle and Perfect Square. It manifests through them as the “Son,” i.e., Kosmos and Man. On the outward Path of Action, the Second One (Atma), in order to manifest itself as Logos, Its concealed duality (Atma-Buddhi) has to become three (Atma-Buddhi-Manas). On the inward Path of Renunciation, Logos Revealed attracts within Itself the Circle and reverts to Its original state of Absolute Unity by forming out of it the Perfect Square, and inscribing within it the Ineffable Name. The Rope of the Angels expressed numerically.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A vast reconstruction of the knowledge of the ancient Jewish priest-scientists, with vital implications for contemporary spirituality and science. • Reveals an ancient science that used geometry, sound, and number to link the finite world of human experience with the infinite realm of the divine. • Uses teachings extending back thousands of years to explicate key concepts of quantum physics and quantum cosmology. For centuries the Kabbalah has fascinated devotees of mysticism while its origins have remained obscure. Now, in her brilliant new work, Leonora Leet reveals that the Kabbalah was the product of a sophisticated, though largely forgotten, Hebraic sacred science that was the rival of any in Egypt or Greece. Not only does Leet reconstruct the secret teachings of the priest-scientists of the Hebrew temple, she also shows them to be the key to understanding both biblical and kabbalistic cosmology. Unlike previous purely historical explorations of the Jewish esoteric tradition, The Secret Doctrine of the Kabbalah resurrects this ancient body of knowledge to reveal eternal truths that can have a profound and positive impact on contemporary spirituality. New experimental methods of practicing Hebraic sacred science are explored that explain as never before the meaning of the central cosmological diagram of the entire Western esoteric tradition--the kabbalistic Tree of Life. Leet shows that the Kabbalah and its central diagram enshrine a key to the purpose of the cosmos, a key that has vast implications for modern physics and cosmology. In a final synthesis, she envisions a culmination in which the universe and its divine child, perfected humanity, achieve that unification of the finite and infinite which has ever been the secret doctrine of the Kabbalah.

Book excerpt: Hidden in a secret book of cosmology, written in the ancient Hebrew tongue, long forgotten but not lost by mankind, is a description of a mysterious cube formed from the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. This cube of letters is constructed of a center, three interior dimensions, six faces, and twelve edges. These twenty-two components form the cube, and also reveal a map that clearly shows where we have come from, where we are now, and where we are going in our evolutionary journey toward complete spiritual awakening. In New Dimensions for the Cube of Space, David Allen Hulse explains that this cube of letters cannot reveal its deepest secrets until it is clothed in the cards of the tarot, creating a map of the cosmos referred to as the Cube of Space. Then, and only then, can this mystical cube speak directly to our souls and show us the way, or the true path of initiation we all must eventually travel. He presents a fascinating description of how he attained his insights along with a clear exposition of the Cube of Space as a path of initiation. Hulse illustrates his insights using the original B.O.T.A. tarot deck, designed by Paul Foster Case. The clear and simple imagery of this deck is very helpful for understanding every nuance of the symbolic material in the story of the soul's journey around the six faces of the cube. However, the popular Waite deck, or any other Tarot deck can be used in studying the Cube of Space. Included is the material needed for the construction of a model of the Cube of Space and Hulse recommends that the reader assemble this model, as it will greatly facilitate a clear understanding of the symbolic meaning behind each of the of the twenty-two directions of space delineated by the cube. Includes a color insert for construction of your own Cube!

Book excerpt: The legendary war photographer Robert Capa carried into his personal life the same remarkable vitality that characterizes his pictures. Driven from his native Hungary by political oppression, he was first recognized for photographing the Spanish Civil War. In 1938 he was in China recording the Japanese invasion. During World War II he was in London, North Africa, and Italy, and then in France covering D-Day on Omaha Beach, the liberation of Paris, and the Battle of the Bulge. When the new nation of Israel was founded in 1948 he was there. In 1954 he was in Vietnam, taking photographs until the moment he was killed. Away from battle, Capa gather about him such famous people as Ernest Hemingway and his wife (the war correspondent Martha Gellhorn), Gary Cooper, Irwin Shaw, and Gene Kelly. Whelan shows Capa photographing the street life of Paris, crisscrossing America on assignment from Life, in Russia with John Steinbeck, in Italy with John Huston, on the Riviera with Picasso, and with Ingrid Bergman.
