Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disciples on the Journey is a Catholic bilingual (English and Spanish) Lenten lectionary-based book using the Cycle B Sunday readings as well as Cycle A weeks 3-5 Scrutiny readings for faith sharing in small groups and/or for individual personal reflection and prayer. Each week there are opening and closing prayers, a commentary on the Sunday readings, faith sharing questions for reflection, suggestions for living as a disciple, and a brief life of a saint for inspiration. Pope Francis tells us that at the basis of everything is the word of God, which during the season of Lent we are invited to hear and ponder more deeply. Disciples on the Journey can help the Lenten Scriptures proclaimed each Sunday come alive because we have prepared ourselves by prayer and reflection to hear God's Word.

Book Synopsis Cycling the Camino de Santiago by : Mike Wells
Download or read book Cycling the Camino de Santiago written by Mike Wells and published by Cicerone Press. This book was released on 2019-03-15 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Camino de Santiago de Compostela (Camino Francés or Way of St James) is among the world's most famous pilgrimages: Christian pilgrims have travelled to the shrine of St James in Santiago, northern Spain, since the ninth century. This guide provides all the information you need to successfully cycle the Camino. The Camino Francés is the most popular variant of the Camino, linking St Jean-Pied-de-Port on the French-Spanish border with Santiago via Pamplona, Burgos and León. The guide presents the journey in 18 stages. Two versions of the route are described, the first (770km) based closely on the walkers' route and suitable for hybrid or mountain bikes; the second (798km) a 'road route' for road and touring cycles. It can be cycled in around 10-14 days and is very well provisioned. Clear route description and mapping are accompanied by notes on local points of interest, as well as background information on Spanish history and the history of the Camino. The practicalities are also thoroughly covered, including travel to and from the route, accommodation, facilities, kit and how to qualify for and obtain your Compostela (pilgrims' certificate). Whether you're seeking a spiritual journey, a physical challenge or just a holiday, the Camino promises an unforgettable experience - from the beautiful landscapes, historic towns and rich culture of northern Spain to the famed camaraderie with other wayfarers. Blending information with inspiration, this guide is an ideal companion to cycling this UNESCO-listed route.

Book Synopsis Minority Internal Migration in Europe by : Gemma Catney
Download or read book Minority Internal Migration in Europe written by Gemma Catney and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-22 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Immigration is a major component of population change for countries across Europe. However, questions remain about where immigrants go after they arrive in a new country. What are the patterns of internal migration of minorities (immigrants and their descendants), and what are the causes and implications of these flows? Migration within a nation state is a powerful force, redistributing the population and altering the demographic, social and economic composition of regions, cities and neighbourhoods. Yet relatively little is known about the significance of ethnicity in migration processes, or how population movement contributes to immigrant and ethnic integration. Minority internal migration is an emerging field of academic interest in many European countries in the context of high levels of immigration and increased political interest in inter-ethnic relations and place-based policies. This book brings together experts in the fields of migration, ethnicity and diversity from across Europe to examine patterns of residential mobility of minorities, and to synthesise key themes, theories and methods. The analyses presented make important contributions to theories of migration and minority integration and may inform policies that aim to respond to local population change and increasing diversity. The conclusions of the book form an agenda for future research on minority and immigrant internal migration in developed societies.
