Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a true crime and corruption story. I was born in California. My father killed someone and went to jail, so my little sister Charlotte and I were adopted by a wealthy aunt and uncle in Fort Worth, Texas. My father beat his case in court by self-defense and joined us in Texas, but we were still adopted. We went to the best schools, wore the best clothes, and took music and dancing lessons. We had the best home any child could have with all the opportunities in the world. As teens, my sister and I worked in one of our adoptive father’s office. However, I grew rebellious and became a stripper and eventually got with gangsters and became one myself. I was married to three crime bosses and became one myself as they did prison time. Eventually, I got a fifty-year prison sentence by crooked cops who murdered a young man after robbing his parents of $3 million in jewels. There was a cover-up, and they are yet to be arrested for it. My prayer is to see them pay for that murder. There's no statue of limitation on murder.

Book excerpt: The book titled; Children of Scarface II subtitled; Am I My Brothers Keeper is a continuation of the saga started in the nonfiction book titled; My Little Garden of Eden subtitled; Im god, were all gods. Still to come in the trilogy is the book titled: The Tree of Life with the subtitle, healing of the nation. These books narrated to contrast the godly and the ungodly secular lifestyles, with biblical doctrines and principles. The atrocities mentioned in Children of Scarface II are real, they essentially occurred in Upstate and Western New York, Mexico, Canada, and in the wilderness of Jamaica. These atrocities are recounted in this book as reported and published by the various news media, and they are available public records. Scarfaces grandmother named Lola, pregnant when she runaway from the wilderness of Duckenfield, to the perilous streets of central Kingston, in Jamaica. She made her way to Rochester, New York; and found refuge amongst a bunch of Rastafarian dreadlocks from Jamaica; they lived in a large house on Terry Street, off Jefferson Avenue. Shortly after Lola gave birth to Scarfaces father in Rochester, Prince, a notorious drug lord from the wilderness, came in search of Lola and the baby. Having a father and a mother living together were the happiest days of Scarfaces childhood, but it did not last for long. Scarfaces father suddenly gunned down in the streets of Rochester, New York. Shortly after that, Scarfaces mother vanished from the streets of the Rochester community. Scarface became an orphan, a motherless and a fatherless child, without any known family member who was not a drug addict, or an alcoholic, or a drug trafficker.

Book excerpt: From the daughter of comedy legend Harold Ramis (and featuring a Foreword by Seth Rogen) comes a hilarious and heartwarming account of his life, work, and legacy. Most of us know Harold Ramis as the writer, director, and actor who brought warmth and humor to the big screen in classics like Animal House, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, National Lampoon's Vacation, and Groundhog Day. To his daughter, Violet, he was best known as an amazing father, confidant, and friend. In Ghostbuster's Daughter, Violet reflects on the life and legacy of her father, providing readers with an extraordinarily candid and insightful look into the man who helped shape modern American comedy. Funny, endearing, and vulnerable, Ghostbuster's Daughter takes readers into the private life of the American comedy icon, from his humble roots in Chicago and ascension into Hollywood stardom to his personal philosophies on life, love, and filmmaking. While the book offers a comprehensive history of her father's career, Ghostbuster's Daughter also provides a profound homage to their special father-daughter relationship. Violet weaves anecdotes about her father's unique and devoted parenting style among stories of her own unconventional upbringing, creating a vivid and dynamic portrait of the man behind the movies. A distinctly offbeat memoir as well as a charming family story for the ages, Ghostbuster's Daughter is an intimate look at one of America's preeminent comedy filmmakers.

Who were the people that made the movie, influencing hip-hop style and swagger to this day? "The world is yours." Scarface Nation is Ken Tucker's homage to all things Scarface—from the stars that acted in it to the influence it's had on all of us, from facts, figures and stories about the making of the movie to a witty and comprehensive look at Scarface's traces in today's pop and political culture. "Say hello to my li'l fren!" You know you love the line. You know you've seen the movie more than once. Now dive into the ultimate book of Scarface—mounded as high as the pile of cocaine on Tony's desk with delicious details and stimulating observations. "You know what capitalism is? F--- you!"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "She was like a storm." —Leonard Cohen Reckless Daughter is the story of an artist and an era that have left an indelible mark on American music. Joni Mitchell may be the most influential female recording artist and composer of the late twentieth century. In Reckless Daughter, the music critic David Yaffe tells the remarkable, heart-wrenching story of how the blond girl with the guitar became a superstar of folk music in the 1960s, a key figure in the Laurel Canyon music scene of the 1970s, and the songwriter who spoke resonantly to, and for, audiences across the country. A Canadian prairie girl, a free-spirited artist, Mitchell never wanted to be a pop star. She was nothing more than “a painter derailed by circumstances,” she would explain. And yet, she went on to become a talented self-taught musician and a brilliant bandleader, releasing album after album, each distinctly experimental, challenging, and revealing. Her lyrics captivated listeners with their perceptive language and naked emotion, born out of Mitchell’s life, loves, complaints, and prophecies. As an artist whose work deftly balances narrative and musical complexity, she has been admired by such legendary lyricists as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and beloved by such groundbreaking jazz musicians as Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock. Her hits—from “Big Yellow Taxi” to “Both Sides, Now” to “A Case of You”—endure as timeless favorites, and her influence on the generations of singer-songwriters who would follow her, from her devoted fan Prince to Björk, is undeniable. In this intimate biography, drawing on dozens of unprecedented in-person interviews with Mitchell, her childhood friends, and a cast of famous characters, Yaffe reveals the backstory behind the famous songs—from Mitchell’s youth in Canada, her bout with polio at age nine, and her early marriage and the child she gave up for adoption, through the love affairs that inspired masterpieces, and up to the present—and shows us why Mitchell has so enthralled her listeners, her lovers, and her friends.
